Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

share me! My sister and I shared a room for years when we were little, until we realized there were enough bedrooms in the house for all us kids to each have our own.

“SHARE ME”. I don’t really like sharing, but my husband is even worse. He won’t even share a banana split with me! Isn’t that the whole point of the banana split, is that you split it with someone? Or is it because the banana is split in half? Either way, I think I should get a bite.

Our family of four share the same bathroom, I wish we didn’t, it gets crowded sometimes, and when you have a 6 and a 2 year old both trying to use the bathroom, they get very impatient, for obvious reasons. :)

Can’t think of any good stories right now but I do love the quote, “What I love most about my home is who I share it with.” Every day I thank God for allowing me to share my life with my amazing hubby and daughter :)

SHARE ME! Funny story: we’re trying to teach our toddler (2.5 yo) about the normalcy of…bodily functions. We don’t want her to have a complex every time she burps or anything! So she was giggling the other day about “toots” and I told her “you know, everyone toots! even mama and daddy.” And she looked at me, serious as a heart attack, and says “yeah, everyone toots. even lizzie [our dog], and it’s really funny when she does.” I tried SO hard not to laugh that I ended up snorting and we both cracked up. Ah, motherhood. :-)

When in high school I drove a fairly nice Jeep. It’s license plate had my name on it and by the time my sister was ready to drive, the Jeep was available. She was not happy since I had already driven it in our small town ( she was the baby of 4 and baby she was). She had a hard time coming up with a license plate so along with sharing the car, she also shared my name for a bit. It really got to her pride and we never let her live it down. I am forever saying, oh that Jeep that was mine before yours.

SHARE ME! I love to share food–particularly baked goods! When I am in a “mood” (typically stressed, but sometimes joyful!) I like to bake…It’s always way too much food, so my coworkers end up with most of it :)

Well there were 8 of us growing up and I was number 6. We had to share lots but some things (especially clothes), weren’t shared too much. I on the other hand would sneak my sister’s clothes and then she would see me at school with it on…which of course at that point she couldn’t do anything about it then!!! :)

My nephew is at the age where sharing is a still a difficult concept. When I asked him how he would be celebrating Easter, he explained, “I’m gonna find all the eggs, and I won’t give them to ANYONE.”

SHARE ME! I actually have a bit of an embarrassing sharing story. I was at my friend’s birthday party (we were like 8, and i was usually quite a good sharer) and she got one of those kits to make your own pot holders (you know, with all those loop things with the square to create the pattern). well, being the dexterious child that i was, i completed about 15 pot holders before my poor friend (the birthday girl) had completed even one. i wasn’t planning to take any of them home with me (jeez, it was her present), but i felt like an meanie when her mom asked me to make sure to let everyone have a chance to make a pot holder…i was just speedy gonzalez and didn’t realize i was leaving everyone else in the dust! (needless to say, i took all mine apart before i left.)

SHARE ME! When teaching our daughter to share we always said, “Sharing is Caring”…..and as she got a little older, her cousin was old enough to play with her and he was learning to share (not so well at first). When our daughter had a toy he wanted, he would come over and grab it from her and she would look at him and say, “Sharing is Caring!” But it took him while to understand this concept…now they are the best of cousin friends!!!

SHARE ME! I have such great memories of sharing a bedroom with my sister for the short period of time my family lived at my grandparents house. We would just lay in bed and sing Kokomo (so hot at the time! ahh, the 80s) over and over and over again.

I remember sharing a room with my sister when we were little. We each had a twin bed and they were spaced just far enough apart that I would create a bridge with my legs and she would walk across. :)

I shared a bathroom with four (count ’em, FOUR) teenage brothers when I would come home from college for breaks. Yeah, just take a minute to let all the implications sink in… 4 stinky, messy, just-learning-to-shave teenage boys who didn’t bother to ‘aim’. :(

In high school I made the mistake of sharing my lip gloss with a girl in one of my classes. From then on, every day, she would go into my bag and help herself to my gloss. It totally grossed me out, so I replaced it with a cheap brand and hid the good kind so she wouldn’t find it. I guess I was a bit of a pushover :o)
Thanks for the great giveaway (and the awesome curated collection on Joss & Main)!

Funny story, I’m a waitress at a sushi restaurant and one of the tables I was serving was giving me a hard time about moving to a new city for a boy. My boyfriend and I had talked about getting engaged but it wasn’t official yet. I simply told a… stretch of the truth and told my table that we were engaged. For some reason I felt my feminism was at stake, which was ridiculous now that I think about it lol. Long story short they asked what my boyfriends name was and ended up knowing him and his parents…One of the people at the table had even taken his baby pictures! I was so embarrassed, I told my boyfriends family what had happen at the next family dinner, afraid that the people I had waited on would call his parents with congratulations or something… They thought my embarrassment was hysterical, of course.
Now we’re officially engaged, and my in-laws haven’t stopped giving me a hard time about what happened. At least it’s not a lie anymore though! lol

In college I went on a summer study abroad trip to Europe. We stayed at a place in Switzerland that had a shared bathroom. After I got done with my shower one morning, I realized that the feet next to me (that I thought belonged to a stranger all along) were in fact my odd and older male professor’s. As a young college girl I was totally grossed out.
