Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

SHARE ME!!! My little sis and I shared a queen sized bed when we were little, and it was a fiasco!!!! She had roughly 10,000 stuffed animals in there all in their own little spot, and we both moved around A LOT when we slept. I think it started with me pushing her out of the bed several nights in a row, and then she started retaliating and pushing me out! We shared it for a few years until my parents had enough. Now I have two daughters who are addicted to stuffed animals and are extremely active sleepers too! And we’re about to put them in a queen bed to share! Funny how these things come back around!

I have never had my own room. I went from home sharing a room with my sister. College, sharing a room with my roomie. Marriage, sharing a room with my hubby.

Share me! I shared a bedroom with my younger sister when we were young. Bunkbeds and all.

Sharing is caring, but when you have two women who average about 6′ tall sharing a double bed in a hotel room that was shared with a family of three sharing another double bed, things can get a little tight.

The year I turned 13, we moved across town out of our 22 room 3 story house (yup), into a 3 bedroom, 1 bath rancher. At the time, all 4 kids were still home, and so it became an interesting share. Mom and Dad – Master, Little Brother – smallest bedroom, 3 teenaged girls – 10′ x 8′ bedroom with the 4′ wide closet. Talk about a crowd! Bunk beds and a single, and a schedule for hair washing. Don’t try this at home! :D

SHARE ME!! I’m four years out of college and still very thankful to no longer have roommates! They were great, but sharing space with multiple girls can be tiresome!

Share Me! I shared a room with my brother when we were really young. I’m older so the room was decorated with Holly Hobby wallpaper. He decided to rip it off the wall and draw G.I. Joe in its place!

SHARE ME – My Mom is a tremendous gardener. She has shared with me lots of tips and tricks over the years, but my favorite is when she shares plants. As her plants get too large for her space, she digs them up and splits them and shares them with me. So even 500 miles apart, I look out my window and see my Mom.

The car shared by my two sisters and I when we first started driving. We called it the “bleeding armadillo” and if you’ve seen Steel Magnolias you can guess why.

My 2 sisters and I used to share a car. It was dificult at times but taught us to communicate and not take things for granted. However when I finally bought my own car, it was great not having to share it!!

Growing up, I had to share a bathroom with two older brothers. When we were in high school it was the worse because of them shaving and leaving hair all over the sink. Definitely a pet peeve of mine now!
Thanks for the giveaway!

SHARE ME! I shared a hotel room for a two week trip to Morroco and Spain with two other people. One guy, one two girls. We ALL got some food related sickness and let me just say, it wasn’t pretty! BUT the trip was amazing and the food tasted great, even if we didn’t stomach it very well. Love Morroco.

HAHA the worst share story was when I booked a hotel in NYC that had communal bathrroms. My friends were so mad that we had to share with the whole floor. It was not pretty.

Share Me! I’m the youngest in my family with three older brothers so I always had my own space and things growing up. They had their time though. Once they were teenagers, the three of them and their friends took over the house and ate EVERYTHING that it contained. I resorted to hiding food in my room and throughout the fridge drawers so I could survive.

SHARE ME!!! I share or try to share everything, even when I don’t want to! Last night I had a red velvet cupcake and asked my BF if he wanted some. To my horror he said yes, so I sadly cut my cupcake in half. I got a pretty good kiss out of it though, so maybe sharing this time wasn’t so bad!!!

SHARE ME! I shared a bed with my sister who is 13 years younger whenever I cam home to visit. She was such a tiny one but a good kicker! Expected her to take up soccer but that never happened lol Still can’t sleep in the same bed :)

SHARE ME! My mom and I just returned from Ireland. One of the B&B’s we stayed in only had one full sized bed and we had to share. Well, apparently I was missing my husband as I woke up multiple times trying to spoon with her.

I hated having to share the front seat in the car with my brother. I HATED it! I thought if I was in the front seat, I should have all the glory. So one day while my mom ran in the car I picked on my brother.
The car was an old boat style Chevy Caprice Classic and if you sat in the front seat in the middle in shorts the vinyl separators would pinch your legs. I told him that the seats were filled with bugs. And they were eating his skin. And every time he sat there they remembered where they left off and kept eating him. And if he continued to sit there he would wind up nothing but bones.
Needless to say he was sobbing when my mom came out of the store and I got in trouble and had to sit in the back seat. But, I’m pretty sure it was worth it!

SHARE ME!! I “shared” a wardrobe with my sister during high school. She worked at GAP and had an amazing wardrobe with her discount there, Old Navy and Banana Republic so I would borrow some of her clothes on the weekends. She didn’t really like it so much…but it was awesome for me!! :)

I went away to camp for winter break when I was a kid. One year while we were all packing up on the last day, my bunkmate approached me because she couldn’t find her toothbrush. She asked me if I’d seen it – it was the red one in the cup by the sink. I tried to explain that MY toothbrush was the red one in the cup by the sink. Turns out we both had taken red toothbrushes to camp, but only one made it to the bathroom so we had been SHARING A TOOTHBRUSH ALL WEEK!!!! BLECH!!!! It still grosses me out thinking about it.

When I was a teenager just starting high school, we moved overseas. Our family shared a hotel room (with 2 beds) for 3 months! My family consisted of me, my brother, my mom, my dad and our cocker spaniel. Needless to say, we were all very excited to finally find a home!
