Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

Share me! My mom shared my doll with my niece and the niece broke it. I have since been trying to find a similar doll from the sixties but haven’t been able to locate one.

Short version of a long (I would say harrowing) story: the day after my husband, six month old, and I moved to our current city, we discovered upon waking that our rental house was infested with ticks. How did we discover this? Tick in the baby’s head. True story.

Hmm, a good memory of sharing had to be when one summer we had record highs there is Missouri. My sister and I ran to the ice cream truck but me being the clumsy one I am, I promptly accidentally dropped my ice cream in the dirt. My sister was the sweetest little thing and offered to share!

SHARE ME! I never had to share anything growing up with just one sibling, so when I got married it was a bit of a shock! The whole bathroom isn’t mine?? :)

My two boys are now sharing a room – most days it works well, though occasionally the weeping and gnashing of teeth comes over the monitor. But one night, we walked in to check on our youngest when his older brother popped up out of his brother’s crib, where he had climbed in to find his brother’s pacifier!

SHARE ME! A few years ago I was on a business trip and one of the sales reps of the company we purchased from, got drunk and tried to kiss me. Talk about awkward!!

SHARE ME!! I remember having to share a bathroom with my mom and two sisters growing up. It was a teeny tiny bathroom and at the time my mom taught pre-school, so there were 4 girls trying to get ready for school in the morning in one tiny bathroom. Needless to say there were many fights in the mornings before school!

I shared a miniscule bathroom with 5 other girls (and an often-there boyfriend) my junior year of college. I always took showers at odd times of the day so that I wouldn’t have to be in and out in 2 minutes.

we have an almost 3 year old and a 9 month old. sharing is NOT on the older one’s radar. so when we ask him to share with his little brother, he’ll take whatever it is the youngest is playing with and then accuse younger brother of not sharing. while it’s ridiculously funny to us right now, we both know it’s something we need to help them with. ha!

Does sharing a bed with my husband count? We’re both light sleepers, so it can make for a rough night if one of us is having trouble sleeping. I wouldn’t have it any other way, though. I sleep worse without him. :-)

First, thanks for offering up your credit as a prize to your readers! My sister and I shared a bedroom growing up, and let’s just say “funny/touching/harrowing” would not be used to describe that experience!

SHARE ME! when my sister was a toddler (the chubbiest cutest little thing in the universe), she used to make strangers uncomfortable by telling them that it wasn’t weird for us to share food or give kisses because it’s okay for sisters to share germs, but strangers can’t share germs because they’ll get a disease. so weirdly cute :)

I came home to find my sister dividing our room down the middle with tape to divide my messy half with her neat half! She’s still much neater than I am.

A few years ago (typing that made me realize it has been more than a few years, more like 8 years ago. Insert pouty face) I was studying abroad in Spain and living with a random roommate. She was a nice enough girl, however, I realized soon after that she had been “sharing” my razor with me. Gross.

SHARE ME! I do environmental research in India, and on my last two trips I had a horrible case of bedbugs, and stomach digestive issues basically nonstop (including an “accident”!). If that doesn’t win the award for over-sharing, don’t know what will!

Share me! Your scenario of sharing a room made me think of two weekends ago where I was stuck sharing a double bed with my mom, I forgotten how small those beds are! Needless to say she loves to snuggle and woke up way to many times with her right beside…oh mothers. lol.

SHARE ME! I always wanted to share a wardrobe with my older sister, but we went to the same high school and she would always catch me wearing her clothes, which resulted in her padlocking her closet (seriously!). She is much better at sharing now :)

“SHARE ME” for some reason I grew up with no privacy in the bathroom while growing up with lots of sisters all sharing the bathroom. I now have to make a mental effort to close the door while using the restroom if company is over.

Share me! Because the odds of winning this are far better than the lottery I didn’t win last week… err, my husband said the sweetest thing to me yesterday about the dinner I cooked! He has a dinner interview at a fancy french restaurant tonight. While eating dinner together last night he said “It doesn’t matter what restaurant I am going to tomorrow; I will miss not being here for this yummy food again.”
