Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

My mom raised us 5 kids as a single parent. Whenever she would go and use the bathroom, we would all sit around on the floor and chat with her while she went to the bathroom. It is totally an invasion of her privacy but it was definitely some quality time that we got to spend. (That sounds silly) We will definitely remember those moments forever!

This is too funny, Nicole. Sure some may see it as an invasion of privacy, but I bet your mom did not mind a bit! Daughter of a single mom here. they rock!!!

SHARE ME! My husband and I always joke that our daughter (Ella)is an old Italian woman hidden in a 3 year old’s body. She is always pushing food on everyone. “Eat! Eat it’s good, you need to eat.” She always tells us and anyone who visits. Then when you are done she proceeds to push more food on you. It is stupidly cute!

SHARE ME!!! I don’t have any good sharing stories, but I will say that I was very lucky to have a sister who was very generous and shared a lot of her wardrobe with me when we were growing up!

My least favorite sharing moment in recent memory is my husband and I having to share a bedroom in a vacation cabin with my in-laws. I have nice in-laws, but that was awkward. I tried not to think about it, and got through the night.

I have a carpooling story. Back when I first started working I opted to carpool into work. With 3 people, it was fine! Then we added a 4th:
I dreaded the days when it is Cooper’s turn to drive to work. He drove a manual transmission, and he was the worst shifter I have ever had the displeasure of sitting in a car with!. Here’s a quick rundown:
-Rev the engine to nearly redline
-Quickly remove foot from clutch
-car shoots forward, snapping everyone’s head back
-Continue to mash down on accelerator, bringing engine back to redline
-Stomp on clutch and remove foot from accelerator
-everyone’s head snaps forward
-Spend a second or two hunting for the next gear, while coasting along at idle
-repeat
I got home the first day with a splitting headache and extremely sore neck. I have since learned to press my head back against the headrest and hold it there until we reach our destination.

So I used to share a bedroom with my two little brothers and had a fab time making them have after-hour tea parties when we were supposed to be sleeping. To this day I still call my little bro’s Mrs. Kennedy and Mrs. Cummings (their tea-party-hostess aliases). :)

SHARE ME!! Had to share a bathroom with two other sisters. this was always challenging during our school years! I somehow always ended up the one that had to wake up earliest! And not to mention when we would all come home for Christmas from College. My oldest sister added her husband into the sharing routine as well. (They would come visit from out of town). That was one small bathroom for too many people!

“Share Me!” This isn’t my share story, but my husband is one of six kids and they only had one bathroom growing up. So he had to share a bathroom with seven other people. Major lack of privacy!

SHARE ME! LOL when my husband and I first got married I ate the last brownie in the pan without a second thought. To this day (10 years into married life :) he still brings up me not sharing the last brownie! In my defense I grew up with three brothers. If you wanted dessert you grabbed it and grabbed it fast!

SHARE ME!! Mostly when I think about sharing, I think of the Friends episode when “Joey doesn’t share food!” Another sharing thought is that I just moved into a new place (2 bed, 2 bath). I took the bathroom that’s connected to the living room, so I’ll be sharing it with guests when my roommate and I are entertaining. I chose that bathroom because it’s bigger, but mostly because I know I’ll try harder to keep it clean and organized. Love the blog!

These days, the funniest share moments in my life come when my almost 2 year old gets together with her bff, an almost 2 and a half year old. There is no story in particular, but lots moments, teaching moments, moments when I have to leave the room to keep from laughing, and a couple “aaawww!” moments as well. I think my favorite is when they share hugs at the end of every playdate. Makes my heart melt.
Thanks for arranging such awesome giveaways and sharing them with us!

I moved from Arizona to South Carolina and during my first day at the new store (I transferred with a well-known Corporation lovingly referred to as Tar-jay) I introduced myself to my new team (Executive Human Resource Manager) and one employee asked where I moved from. I said I had moved from Arizona. The employee shook his head and said, “I have never heard of that store and I don’t know where that is.”
Oy! I knew I was going to have my hands full when an employee was unaware that Arizona is one of the “nifty fifty.” :)

Share me! A couple of summers ago I was sharing a tent with my sister and her friend and it refused to stay set up in all of the rain because it was too old and the campsite was a lake too. So we tore it down and stuffed it in the campsite trash bins. We ended up staying the night in a tent trailer with my other sister, her husband and toddler. Let’s just say that was definitely my most awkward room sharing experience. No one wants to roll over in the morning to see their brother in law rolling out of bed. Thankfully there were heavy canvas curtains separating the sleeping areas of the trailer…. but sheesh! Awkward!
The Chatty Housewife says
When I said the campsite was a lake, I meant it had rained so much that everything was just one big puddle.

The morning of my wedding I got a hotel suite to get ready in with my bridesmaids. Well, a few members of the U’s basketball team (either players or managers, or both) had been there the night before to do some recruiting. Let’s just say that it was not ready for us when we checked in …

SHARE ME! A few years ago I was in New Jersey for work, staying at an extended stay hotel for a few nights. The hotel had given me a two bedroom suite because that is all they had left. At lunch the next day, I was talking about it with my coworkers, saying how it is kind of creepy having so much space. Well, my supervisor overheard the conversation, and asked if she could stay with me since she lived kind of far away. It was awkward, but what could I say? From then on I learned to keep my mouth shut.
