Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

SHARE ME!! My youngest daughter (11months) is definitely the sharing queen – she shares all of her food with the dog… Not really sure I want to promote this kind of sharing ;)

I used to share a bedroom with my sister growing up and I was always the neat one and she was the messy one. Cleaning to her was stuffing everything under the bed or in the closet. Drove me nuts!

SHARE ME! I am presently sharing my love at my son’s and soon-to-be DIL’s first home. In the last two days, I have cooked a pork roast, installed plantation blinds on 5windows, installed curtain rods and curtains, pulled up weeds and trimmed bushes (oh, my!), washed windows, and added frosted window film to a bathroom window. Today—?????

Share me! My brother and I shared a car when I was in high school. He and his friends were not quite as concerned with cleaning up ketchup/soda/”other” spills as I was, so there was a lot of tension around our house!

At a major work conference when I was just 19 years old, I got roomed with three older ladies (60-70) who got up at 4AM and chattered loudly over their breakfast consisting of glasses of prune juice (seriously). At night I would go out into the hallway to call my boyfriend, and would open the door to the room to find them all leaning against the door, listening in on my conversation.
It was a long conference.

Share me! As an only child, moving in with my then-boyfriend (now-husband) was soooo hard! I hated sharing my bedroom! As much as I love him, I was not used to someone being in my space 24/7. 9 years later abd we’ve andjusted just fine, thank God! :)

SHARE ME!!!! When I was a little girl, I remember my Mom always saying, “Can’t I have just one thing for myself?”. She was referring to me wanting whatever food or drink SHE had. I couldn’t understand what her problem was. Now that I’m a Mom, I find myself saying the exact same thing to my 2 1/2 year old boy and my husband. They both want whatever food or drink I have, and I usually end up giving it to them. Exasperated (just wanting to have one whole cookie or one thing of French fries to myself) I usually share. But not without uttering those all too familiar words, “Can’t I just have one thing to myself?” :)

When my husband was in the Peace Corps, he took me on a number of adventures. One time I was visiting we went on a mini-vacation to the coast and were “shared” a motorcycle with another person, a tent, a back pack of supplies, a machete, some snorkeling equipment (including fins). Needless to say, it was a little crowded and I was holding on for dear life for the entire 30 minute ride!

My son is two and a half and is learning the lesson of sharing right now! Half the time he always wants what his friends have even if he didn’t want it two seconds ago. Sheesh. He’s a good sharer though…at least sometimes!

How about me and my three younger brothers sharing a bathroom growing up.
Laura says
SHARE ME! I had to share a bathroom with my older sister all the way up until she left for college. I swear that’s why, to this day, I can get ready for work in about 7 minutes. She would spend hours locked in the bathroom and come out about 3 seconds before we needed to leave for school, church, etc. Ahhh, sisterly love.

My first car was a hand-me-down from my dad that I shared with my brother. He’d drive us to school, and I’d drive us home. We each got our moments of “my” car time only when our schedules were radically different and it just didn’t make sense to share.

SHARE ME! I had to share not only the hotel room with my former boss but the same bed! I learned a lot about her after that night. Including that she had to remove her wig to sleep.

“Share Me” My younger brother and I shared a room growing up. We are just over a year apart and we were very creative children. During the winter we would spend all morning drawing up pictures and painting watercolors. We would then glue them on the walls of our playroom and invite our parents in to see our “MUSEUM.” boy did we get in trouble when my mom realized that she had to soak our art off the walls because of all the glue. She later bought us tape and continued to act like our homemade art was better than any art in any museum.

Sharing is an on-going, screaming, eye-rolling, daily occurrence in our household. Let me explain….I have a 6 year old and a 2 year old. Both girls. Both as stubborn as their momma. ;) We “practice” sharing everyday…and some days, by the grace of God, it sticks. Other days, we chalk it up to, “better luck next time”.

Share me! I used to hate sharing the backseat of the car with my brother on long road trips. We would fight like crazy! We would try to draw a line down the middle of the car, but that made it too tempting to try to cross over…

I caught my old boss hiding in an empty shed outside of the office one afternoon when he was supposed to be in a meeting with his boss. The next day I made a sign that said “Jeff’s Secret Clubhouse. No Girls Allowed”. And posted it on the shed. A week later facilities tore down the shed and Jeff never went missing again!

Share Me! I went to new york with a best friend when we were 18, by ourselves! We were broke so had to stay in one of those walk-up hotels with a bathroom shared by the entire floor. I had never heard of that and was so creeped out that when I went for my shower I could have passed for going to the beach :)
