Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

SHARE ME! As the oldest of 8 kids, we did lots of sharing growing up. Sharing bedrooms, bathrooms, clothes, etc. My sister and I shared a room for years and we are still BFFs. And, I think it made doing to college less of an adjustment!

The worst sharing story in the world is from my husband. Sharing a trundle bed with his brother when he was a little kid, one night he woke up feeling super sick, leaned over and threw up all over him! Not my kind of sharing for sure…

Every night I have to share the blankets with my husband. We wage war against one another as to who will win all of the blankets before the other wakes up, realizes what’s going on, and grabs their half back. :)

“SHARE ME!” With both of my pregnancies I had a horrible condition called Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG). Nightmare doesn’t even begin to explain. I came close to starving to death because I couldn’t keep food or water down for most of the 3 terms. Lost weight instead of gained. Couldn’t function, work, enjoy being pregnant. But I have two beautiful children and I am so glad we got through it all. May 15th is the first “HG Awareness Day” for this very misunderstood illness. Learn more at helpher.org.

Share me! I’m the oldest of 4 and growing up we did a fair amount of sharing to say the least. For a while I shared a room with my brother and sister, then just my sister until I eventually got my own room. I always shared a bathroom, and through high school we all shared the same truck… we had it at different times but it’s a cool sharing experience we all think is pretty cool! Sharing is a great thing to learn at a young age. I now have the pleasure of sharing my life with my sweet husband… and our fur baby (boxer named Bruce).

SHARE ME! As newlyweds, my husband and I took a camping trip, which turned into an ill fated camping trip. Throwing meteorological reports to the curb, we assumed we knew better what the weather would be, including the over night low temperature. So, we packed one sleeping bag intending to unzip it and use it as a blanket for the warm night ahead. It was 40 degrees that night. Two people. One sleeping bag. We shared the bag and shared the joy of rotating throughout the night, so no one was stuck as the designated sleep-with-your-butt-cheeks- hanging-out-the-unzippable-zipper-side sleeper.

When I was a kid I shared a car with my older brother. It was actually his car, but he wasn’t allowed to take it to college, so I drove it during my senior year of high school. I was soo happy to get use of it..but it was a jollipy for sure. Sometimes it would just stop for no reason and in order to get it started back up..I had to go under the hood and use this thing with a button to get it started back up! HAHA! But I had wheels! Good times! :) I hated to give it up when he would come home for the weekend…but it was all about sharing!

SHARE ME! Last year, while their father was deployed to Afghanistan, all 3 of my children (10 year-old girl, 7 year-old boy and 4 year-old girl) shared a room when we took a strategic retreat to my parents house. And my wonderful parent opened my (small) childhood home to share with their 30-something daughter and 3 grandchildren. It wasn’t always easy, but it turned a year that could easily have been thought of exclusively as “The-Year-Daddy-Was-Gone” and made it into “The-Year-We-Got-To-Really-See-Where-Mommy-Gre-Up”.

Growing up my little sister and I shared a room. We are pretty much opposites and fought A LOT, but I have the best memories of rainy Sunday afternoons when we pretended we were stranded on an island together, aka a big blanket on the floor.

I’m blessed to have two close girlfriends that I can share anything with. We refer to one another as “the inner circle” and know that if we disclose something it’s “in the vault”, won’t be judged, and will NEVER be discussed outside of the circle.

SHARE ME… My dad is an only child and to this day (I’m 33 now!) the man cannnnnot share. But? He thought everything of mine (or anyone’s really) was open for sharing. Funny how that worked, eh?
Needless to say, sharing is something I expect from my two little boys. Which is hard, b/c, well, they’re little boys, but they’re learning! :)
I don’t know if that’s what you’re looking for but it’s hard to handle non-sharers. You two are so nice to share this giveaway with your readers!

My sister and I had to share our Pound Puppies’ puppy carrier when we were kids. You know, like a portable crate that you’d use to take our Pound Puppies’ puppies to the vet. I’m sure the velcro closure on that bad boy was very secure.
Thanks for having something better to share!

Share me! my sister was 7 years older than i was and she used to “share” the backseat of the car with me by making me lay down on the floor boards and by putting pillows down to even it out and said it was cool- hey, it was the 80’s, car safety wasn’t the same then…

My sharing story is that this past weekend, we had a girl’s sleep over (old college friends getting together). I shared a bed with my friend Megan…
I learned that she talks in her sleep, fidgets with her hands a lot, and can sleep through her phone going off. :)

My mom watches my daughter, 4, and her cousins, 2 and 5, every Thursday. One day on our way over my daughter says to me, “Levi’s not going to be very happy with me ’cause he has to share me with Nolan.” Levi isn’t the greatest sharer. :)

SHARE ME! I shared a room during the fun years (age 9) with my brother AND sister. We had a bunk bed that they shared and then a wall of dressers that I made into my own personal bed/reading area. I hung a poster of NKOTB above where I slept and just after lights out, I’d give my BF Jordan (duh!) a kiss goodnight.

I’m learning a whole new lesson in sharing with my husband with the arrival of our baby! This little one definitely Deserves and requires us to share – the love, the snuggles…..and diaper duty! What a sweet man I’ve got that shares in this so well – what a sweet thing to share in! :)

SHARE ME! Every time a storm comes through in the night, one of us has to get up, go downstairs and share some sort of sleeping arrangement with our two 40lb dogs who hate thunder and lightning. Otherwise we both have to fight the most persistent one all night for bed space. Last night was stormy and it was my turn, so today I am stiff and somewhat grumpy. A shopping extravaganza at Joss and Main would be a certain mood upgrade!

SHARE ME! Recent funny/embarrassing story was while out one night with my dog (we have nightly playtime with other neighborhood dogs), he ran closer to the street than normal and even though the street does not see much traffic, I yelled out this very bizarre, deep, drawn out shriek that somewhat resembled my dogs name. Our neighbors have been making fun of me since…

Share Me! I grew up with 3 older sisters and 4 brothers so there was LOTS of sharing going on in our house. Now that we’re all grown and live in different states, I wish we could come together and share everything…our kids birthdays and playdates, laughs, coffee & ice cream runs, barbecues…and so on. I’m most glad though for being able to share my childhood with them!

I am actually a terrible sharer. I cannot share things like food, drinks, or carmex (which my daughter loves to use — once she uses it, the carmex is hers. that’s probably her goal). If my hubby wants to share a drink, I drink out of it first, and then he gets the rest. I just can’t handle sharing! Maybe because I am the oldest of eight and want things to myself.

Share me! I shared a room with my younger sister from the time I was little until the night before I got married. We shared a full size bed (which my daughter just cannot fathom). I miss sleeping back to back on cold nights–my husband is a super warm sleeper and he can’t take more heat. Also, he’s not a big fan of talking til you fall asleep–I miss that as well!

A long time ago, my cousins came to visit us. We were all little, and my aunt and my mom thought it would be a time saver if my cousin and I showered together. My cousin proceeded to get some Balsam such-and-such shampoo in her eyes, and kept yelling, “IT’S THE LEAVES! THE LEAVES ARE BURNING MY EYES!!” She was teased for years about “the leaves”.
