Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

Kevin and I love food. We are also really indecisive. On our honeymoon at several amazing French and Polynesian restaurants that we were both frozen in states of indecision. Coconut crab or stuffed parrotfish? Creme brulee or cheesecake? We decided from that point on to each get a different entree and share half of it with the other person… decision eliminated! We’ve been doing it ever since and it works great! If we can’t decide between two dishes, one of us gets each and we split!

Share me! How about when I was in college in manhattan and my roomate and I had to share a room with….. Bunk beds! I could not believe I wad a cool college girl in the big apple and having to sleep in bunk beds for the first time in my life! Let’s just say that deterred us from bringing boys back to our apartment! Little too close for comfort!

As long as I can remember I have wanted to be a mom! After marraige, scool, and all the steps that come before.. we got pregnant in June of last year. With the due date of Feb 29th (leap year how cool) we were so excited. On dec 7th however I was admitted with a terrible case of toxemia..long story short my baby boy was born 3 months early..I look at our long journey in the NICU as us sharing our beautiful baby boy with soo many people:) It was a month yesterday that he has been home and he is healthy and happy. As are we!

One of the funnier stories about “sharing” I can remember is riding in the car with my sister when we were younger. She became ill and vomited and once the smell hit the rest of us we all started gagging and vomiting as well. My poor mother really had a mess to clean. :)

Teaching my dog to share ME is turning out to be quite a challenge. My boyfriend and I can’t sit next to each other on the couch without her wiggling her way between us. She wants all my attention all the time! But I love her to pieces!

I have a sister that is a year and a half younger than me, and growing up, we were terrible at sharing. We stole each others clothes and jewelry. Fortunately, we forgave each other and have learned how to share :)

We are actively trying to teach our daughter the merits of sharing, and in parrot-like form, are always echoing… “sharing is caring.” She truly has embraced the principle and is calling us out on it anytime she wants something of ours, lol.

This is a sharing story with my (as of today!!) 3 year old. When we brought our new baby home a few months ago, she received this new, very soft blanket, that our then 2 year old coveted. One day, she fell asleep on the boppy pillow beside me. He brought over one of his blankets to give to her because, “Baby Annie is cold.” we thought it was sooo sweet of him to share…and then we saw his real motive. Because he gave her his blanket, he could take hers…the one he wanted all along! :)

My brother and I nearly learned the hard way what “sharing” meant when it came to our pet hamster when we were the ages of 3 and 5 respectively. Hamster lived through the experience thanks to a quick acting Mom.

I’m the thing getting shared… I’m a nanny. And it’s not easy being pulled in two different directions, by two very different families with different needs! I love my job(s) and wouldn’t give them up easily, though :)

When my sister and I were little my mom always made us share a pack of Skittles when we stopped at the gas station (I think to prevent us from getting too much sugar!). We used to painstakingly sort the colors and then divvy them up so we got as close to the same assortment as each other. Crazy!

At a conference we were housed in dorms with individual bedrooms sharing a bathroom. This was all well and good, except the housing form did not ask for gender and someone named “Tracy” was assigned with me and 4 other women from my group… and Tracy was a man. Really awkward week (particularly considering she shower curtain left a 1″ gap on each side)

I work in a retail bakery, and we give away free cookies to kids. A little girl and her young brother noticed there was one cookie left. The little girl picked it up, broke it in half, and said “we can share, sweetie”. I thought that was the cutest and sweetest thing ever!

Last time my coworker and I went to the office kitchen there was only ONE fun size bag of M&Ms in the candy jar! *womp, womp* We walked down the hall passing the bag back and forth doing “one for you, one for me” until we each had 8 piddly M&Ms. Fortunately, the rest of the office already thinks we are crazy so this little scene didn’t surprise anyone.
