Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

My husband and I arrived at our lovely honeymoon destination in Mexico…one of us decided to shower and the other couldn’t hold “it” in any longer. Needless to say, the bathroom was one giant room with an all glass shower. I think this set the tone for how close our marriage was going to become!

SHARE ME! I broke my arm as a kid (of course doing something we had been told not to do a gazillion times) and my brothers and I were so concerned we would be getting into so much trouble that I avoided all grown up contact for the remainder of the day. The boys brought sandwiches out for our mid-afternoon meal and all… too bad we had to go home eventually!

SHARE ME!! Oh my goodness when my younger sister and I were kids she was just the brattiest little sister ever. She would not, could not share so you better not even think about asking because it wasn’t happening. She would shoot you a death stare if you asked for a piece a gum, french fry or asked to play with her Barbie. She was one scary 6 year old. She’s gotten better about sharing but we still tease her about it.

I was just in a meeting about open space offices versus closed offices. I love the open space – sharing natural light, large workspace tables, plants, conservsations, ideas, etc. But there’s some people who would rather have a door to shut. Right now I have neither – no open space but no door!

My sister and I shared a room all my life (except when I was still in a crib) and at Halloween the local radio station would play scary stories at night and as we fell asleep listening to the radio she would get scared and hop into bed with me. Taking care of the big sister!

Share Me . . .I hate when my husband “shares” a drink from my glass of water. For some reason I feel that that water is MINE, ALL MINE. He just laughs at me:P

I am the youngest of 3 with 2 older brothers. Being the only girl I never had to share much… until it came to actually sharing my brothers with other girls!! My friends and I used to sneak into my then teenage brothers’ rooms and read their love notes from girlfriends. Lots of giggles and running out of the room squealing when we were caught. Now I share my brothers with two beautiful sister-in-laws.

Quick story- As a kid (pre-DVR days), I always wanted to be an “interior designer.” I would play sick so I could stay home and watch Vern Yip and Genevieve Gorder on “Trading Spaces.” Many kids my age were watching TRL or Disney shows, not me. And I needed my daily dose of Ty Pennington!

SHARE ME! When I was younger I had to share a room first with my older brother on bunk beds. A little later I had to share with my little brother, no bunk beds this time, but half of the room was decorated with Barney!

Sharing horror story:
Went on a road trip with an ex boyfriend’s brother (weird, I know!) and ended up sharing a hotel room with him. It got stranger after we got into a huge argument that evening. We then had to drive home together for about eight hours.

I have the worst time teaching my only daughter and youngest by far husband to share anything with me or with each other! Especially when it comes to ice cream…we must buy 2 separate containers, one for each and they monitor to see if each other has eaten any and now my six year old has gotten smart and buys kinds that she knows her daddy doesn’t like, hysterical.

I grew up as the youngest of 5 kids, in a house with 1.5 bathrooms. That’s a total of 7 people sharing 1 shower and 2 toilets. It was t-i-g-h-t. In elementary school, I even shared a bedroom with 2 of my older brothers… so now they have TONS of dirt on me sleepwalking or talking in my sleep. But we all grew through those experiences and love each other more because of them!

On sunny days, my dog and I “share” the sun that beats in through the windows. By “share” I mean fight over. Dog usually wins by gradually pushing me out into the shade…

Share me – I used to have this gross little blanket that I took everywhere with me–it was very dirty yet still subject to a lot of thumb-sucking. We have the saddest picture in the world of me red-faced and bawling my eyes out the day my younger brother decided we could share this blankie and removed it from me by force. My brother and I never really could share things very well, I guess we’re too close in age.

When my two little ones and I are out at a restaurant, we “unshare” our dessert. We only order one treat, but it’s every man for himself as we try to devour it. It’s so funny to watch the kids giggling and shoveling it in as fast as they can to get their fair share.

I left my car at home when I left for college, which my sister and I would “share” when I was home on breaks. Unfortunately, she ended up rear ending someone in it and it went to the junk yard after that. Bummer!

SHARE ME! Living in Honduras, sharing was a way of life – books, music, movies all got swapped whenever volunteers saw each other, and it was basically the most exciting thing ever – and introduced me to a lot of new things, like Arrested Development!

Growing up, my sister and i shared a room and for a while- a bed. She was quite the cover-stealer, so i would do my best to beat her to bed and roll myself up in the blanket. I ended up looking like a human taquito with most of the blanket wrapped around myself.

My sister hated sleeping in a bed with me when we were little and on vacation. She would always make a line down the middle of the bed with rolled up blankets and pillows so I wouldn’t touch her at all. Isn’t that nice?

When I was about 6, we went on a family camping trip. I loved spending the nights in our tents but they said some bad weather was coming and everyone was going to stay the next night in their cars. I was giving a fit about not being able to sleep in the tent when my uncle offered to let me stay in his tent and sleeping bag. Apparently he told my mom something like, “she’ll learn”, and I did. I woke up the next day, SOAKED (the tents we had then were not water-proof)! I definitely learned a lesson that night/morning! Maybe adults knew what they were talking about after all ;)

I regularly remind my daughter of the perils of sharing with my brother, her uncle, growing up. We generally got along great but the moments of him locking me out of the house, scaring me half to death and teasing me beyond belief stick out in my head. It wasn’t until he left our house and those days (and nights) of sharing fun experiences/parental drama/music/etc came to an end, that I truly understood how lucky I was to have him! And now, as an adult, I get to tease him right back since my memory is much clearer than his (I am younger after all!). :)

When I was in college I worked summers at a summer camp. The staff was made up of 7 college kids. We had all live in the staff quarters which was a single-wide tralier. Talk about 7 college kids sharing such a small living space for an entire summer. Wow. Definately an experience.

SHARE ME! I have fond memories of sharing the back seat of the car with my little sister during family road trips across the country. We had to build “walls” of pillows and blankets to keep us from fighting :) Today, however, we’re the best of friends and live just 20 minutes apart.
