Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

I share everything with my husband. We work at the same place, mostly the same hours, share similar tastes in music, movies, food, etc. Some days it seems we are glued at the hip, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Grew up sharing a room and bathroom with my sister (and brother sometimes). Sharing the room when she had a sleepover, BUT I wasn’t allowed to participate as the lame younger sister, was NOT fun. :)

My mom likes to bring up a story of when I was little. I apparently hated sharing food (especially sweets) and one time when she asked for a bite of my piece of cake…I picked up the whole piece…shook the crumbs on a plate and handed her the plate (while I kept eating the rest of the piece)! At least I shared the crumbs right?? ;)

Growing up me and my older sister (who are only about a year a part) use to fight about having to share everything!! Clothes, Makeup, Rooms, you name it! One time the fight that was over a shirt or top got so bad that my sister pulled my hair to the floor and gave me a purple eye!!! The weird part is that the roles are reversed now and she is so mild and sweet and I’m the crazy one! lol we love each other and are shopping buddies now! :)

My husband teases me because when he first moved in I told him I thought I was good at sharing…even though I inadvertently would suggest that most of his home decor items and sports memorabilia wind up being used to decorate our unused guest bedroom. ;)

SHARE ME! The year I graduated college, I moved to Aspen, Colorado and shared a 3 bedroom house with 10 people! In my room, I shared a bed with my best friend and a guy friend that we just met slept on the floor, in the next room, my sister and another girl slept in twin beds with another guy friend on the floor between them. In the master upstairs, there were 4 guys we had not met until we moved in!! It was a house full of oversharing. Thank goodness we all had to work day and night to afford to live there! One of the best times of my life!

In college, my roommate and I shared a bathroom with two others (bathroom connected the two rooms) and one was not very good at sharing and constantly locked us out of the bathroom and didn’t understand the concept of cleaning up after herself. Not a fun year to say the least!

I apparently have a an open/disarming look to me because people (sometimes random people, sometimes friends) feel comfortable telling me things that maybe would be better kept to themselves….like the woman in line at Target who burped and then proceeded to describe the the amount/size of her “meal” after it came out the other end. gee thanks for sharing.

When my husband was little, he and his brother used to fight about ‘sharing views’ out windows in the car. Saying to their Mom “he’s looking out my window!!”
Always thought that was so cute!

I shared a bedroom with my younger brother until I was 16. I hated it when I was 15 and 16 (but what didn’t I hate at that point?), but now that I’m older I’m so glad we had those years in close proximity.

I’m a massage therapist. Your clients often feel bonded to you because of the physical closeness of massage and the fact that massage elevates the body’s oxytocin levels (called the bonding hormone, it’s responsible for lactation in women, but men have plenty of it, too). Most clients are quiet when on the table – but many do talk, and often share QUITE a bit about themselves and their lives!

The week when my brother and I had to share a room while my new flooring was getting put in mine. My parents were DIYers as well so it took a while. To make a long story short it was the worst week of my life and to this day my brother and I can’t talk about it without getting upset. lol.

My funny story: when we were kids, my parents took us to Holland (we lived in Germany). We packed our own suitcases and felt so grown up. We didn’t realize it was a national holiday and everything was closed. My brother also didn’t realize he packed no underwear. The whole time we were there, my poor mom had to wash his skivvies in the sink of our hotel room. I still giggle thinking about that, twenty years later.

Apparently, I’m not very good at sharing…my food, at least. Do you ever look forward to coming home to (plug in food here) you have left over in the fridge? It’s sometimes what gets me through that long work day – pathetic, I know. = ) Anyhow, my collge roommates and now husband have learned to steer clear of *ahem* my food!
