Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

Share me! I shared a box of girl scout cookies with a colleague during our first week on the job; we bonded over gorging on samoas. Now, we have to buy several boxes every year for our resource room. Not the best story, but it’s the first that came to mind! :)

My best sharing story comes from my wedding dress, who when I purchased her had been worn by two different brides before me and after my wedding I passed her on to yet another bride. =)

Share me! I shared a bed with my big sister until I was 9 years old. We had so much fun playing and reading under the covers after lights out. I even remember making my sister tell me stories to fall asleep.

My husband loves to share the couch with me, but our newish couches just aren’t big enough, so it’s hilarious to watch him try to act comfortable as we’re both squished in the too-small space. Sweet though :)

SHARE ME! My darling 6 yo niece learned a wonderful sharing lesson. She had saved up her allowance and gift money to buy a Nintendo DS. However, when she learned that a classmate was needing a heart transplant, and the class was doing a fundraiser, she shared her allowance and donated her DS fund to help him. To quote her “A heart is more important than a Nintendo DS”

SHARE ME! When my sister and I were little we shared a bedroom…if I had to go to the bathroom at night, I would just hop into her bed, tinkle away, and then go back to mine!

Growing up, I had to share a bedroom with my sister. My family always teased me because they thought our disgustingly messy room was my fault. Years later, my sister and I live in our own places. Everyone found out that I’m a crazy neat freak, and my sister’s place is always a MESS. Ah, the truth finally comes out! :)

My younger sister and I shared a bedroom until I was 17. We made every attempt to make it into two bedrooms by drawing lines, putting furniture together to create a divide, even painting each half it’s own color!!

When I was young–probably about 6, I was taking a bath, when my one year old brother toddles in, opens the diaper pail, and proceeds to dump (no pun intended) the dirty diapers in the bath with me. I screamed and screamed, he giggled, and my parents rushed into the bathroom and about fell over laughing. I was not pleased. Luckily now I see the humor in it, but then…

The first time I ever met my boss we had to go on a “field trip” to a court an hour or so away and I got so car sick on the way home that I was on the verge of making him pull on the side of the road. Luckily, I didn’t get sick but I did make him turn the A/C on full blast and reclined my seat all the way back so I could lay down…talk about a first impression!

SHARE ME! Pick me! : )
My siblings and I, 2 girls and 2 boys with a age spread of 2.5 years between each of us shared 1 bathroom. My Dad, being the architect that he is, thought it would be great to design the “kids” bathroom with 2 sinks in one section and the toilet and bathtub/shower in another sectioned off by a pocket door with a flimsy door lock. Well, as brilliant as it seemed to him, he forgot to place the light switch for the toilet/bathtub/shower section IN that section of the bathroom. Instead the switch panel was near the sinks. So being the youngest of the 4, my older pesky brothers would constantly turn the lights and exhaust fan off on me while I was in the bath or shower. Not cool. Needless to say now that my Husband and I along with our 9 month old search for our first house (yay!!) I am keeping my eye on every bathroom to make sure light switches are properly placed ; )

Share me!!! My daughter is 13 months old and my nephew is 11 weeks older than her. It’s hilarous to feed them because they both love to eat so your in a race to get food in both their mouths before one starts cyring or trying to take the others food. There nothing like sweet, little babies. :)

SHARE ME! My now husband and I used to share a pint of Ben and Jerry’s cookie dough ice cream when we were in college. I tease him about it now because he would ask me to eat the vanilla ice cream and save him all the cookie dough (which I wouldn’t do). We do a much better job of sharing now.

Share Me! I’m a twin, so sharing comes naturally… espically in resturants. When my husband and I first started dating, I would automatically take half of my meal on his plate and vice versa… and he went with it. So.. was a keeper!

In general, I can’t share a room with ANYONE except my husband. Because any minor snoring or heavy breathing makes me a) awake and b) aggravated. And the husband is the only one I can legally elbow to shut up in the middle of the night ;)

SHARE ME! I was on an exchange program in high school and staying with a host-family in France. I had to share the teenaged daughter’s room and slept on the top bunk of her bed. She and her boyfriend turned out to be over-sharers…if you know what I mean! Scarred.for.life.

I grew up an only child and very rarely had to really share anything – but watching my children (daughter 5, son 2) learn is priceless! And head-ache inducing, actually. Generally, it starts off nice as them trying to play with something together, and ends with one of them sobbing hysterically on the ground while another stands there screaming “STOP LOOKIN AT ME SISTER” with their hands over their eyes. This can happen within 10 seconds.

Hmmm, funny story. . .well, we recently rescued a dog from the Humane Society, and out of all the dogs there clamoring for our attention (breaks my heart!), the little guy we already had in mind actually growled at us! He’s a sweetie now, and hasn’t growled one single time since then, but it is a funny memory.

I shared my lemonade at a ball game with my then nearly year-old son. Unbeknownst to me, he had spit up down the big wide plastic straw while drinking. So when I got my drink back, I slurped up a big mouthful of lemonade and my own sour breastmilk. Blech! Entire $7 lemonade ruined. I still share food with the little stinker, though:)

SHARE ME! Last week we were working on our house, and that, for reasons too complicated to explain here, meant that our son would be sleeping in our bed for the night. My kidneys are still recovering from being mule kicked all night long. I love my son more than anything, but I’d rather eat fire than share a bed with him for the night.
