Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

SHARE ME! I have always shared spaces. My brother and I shared a roon growing up. I shared rooms and houses in college. Now I share our house with my husband and 4 kids! I don’t think I’ve ever had my own space!

Share me! My lil bro is 20 months younger, but my hubby’s sisters are 5 & 7 years younger – it’s always interesting to find out what TV he watched growing up with sisters who weren’t close in age (lots of Barney, for example).

I shared a dorm my freshman year with my best friend from high school. We had 2 twin cots..they were beds but not a far cry from a cot, 2 closets and a sink..then we had to share showers with all the girls on the hall! It was an interesting year!!

My sister and I shared a room most of our childhood. It was fun to always have someone to talk to late into the night, but sometimes my Dad would come in and make one of us leave the room (and lay on the carpet in the hallway!) until the other fell asleep. It was the only way to make us stop talking. :)

I shared the first house I bought with a male friend of mine. He spent all day, every day playing Warcraft and practiced throwing his trash into his bedroom because he couldn’t be bothered to walk to the kitchen. Horrid.

Growing up, I had to share a bathroom with the world’s grossest guys. I thought I had escaped it when I got married, but I didn’t. I just traded one for another.

Share me! Being an only child, I didn’t have to share much. But my husband always shares with me especially when what I order at a restaurant doesn’t taste as good as what he ordered. He swaps with me even if what I got was horrible! (Maybe it’s so he doesn’t have to listen to me complain??) :)

SHARE ME!…My 2 year old son has a baby brother with some very cute, chubby cheeks that we sometimes talk about. Yesterday I got out of bed and my 2 year old came running up to me. He started slapping my bare legs with both hands, yelling, “Chubby cheeks! Chubby cheeks!” over and over. I consider this story funny, touching, AND harrowing.

One year on my birthday my husband and I were sharing a chocolate molten lava cake for dessert. When we were finished I made a comment that “it’s a good thing we shared this because I am stuffed and I can’t imagine how anyone could eat this entire dessert by themselves.” That’s when he informed me that he only had 2 bites.Oops.

A few years ago, I assisted my boss with an enormous, important project. My boyfriend and I then took a weekend trip to San Francisco to celebrate finishing the project. My generous boss called ahead to our hotel to upgrade us to a suite as a thank you… and the hotel took it upon themselves to give us the honeymoon package.
We showed up to a room with chocolate, champagne, and rose petals all over the room (including in a heart shape on the bed). There was a card that said “From Your Boss.” It was *quite* awkward, as we thought she was trying to share in our romance, but she had no idea the hotel did that!

My favorite things to share these days are pictures! Sharing pictures used to consist of using your camera to take a photo, developing the film and mailing or delivering prints. Now, I can snap a photo from my phone, upload it to a social media site and share it with the world! I love giving pictures to my family and friends online, and being able to “like” and comment on pictures makes it twice as fun!

Share me! I raise guide dog puppies and have a career changed dog as a pet (he did not make the cut as a working dog). They are taught to share everything so when we go to the park, if i throw a ball for him, and another dog goes after it, he’s all “You got that? Go ahead then! Thanks, man!” and our balls rarely come home. Good thing we get them for free from the tennis center!

My husband and I are buying our first house together (in Brandermill!) and we will be SO GLAD not to have to share a bathroom for the first time ever. While I have gotten used to random whisker hairs in the sink and globs of Colgate in the tub, he has apparently never gotten used to having to fish long hairs out of the drain periodically and squeals like an angry otter every time I ask him to do it for me.

My two sisters and I (we are a family of five, however) have never had a problem sharing the bathroom – of which we have always had ONE. We have always staggered our time out when it comes to getting ready for the following day – someone will use the shower the night before, someone will get up early, and someone will jump in right before the event we are getting ready for.
Sharing toys, however, was a completely different story. There was only one light bright, and man, no one was willing to share it!

I still remember growing up with four siblings and two parents in a one bathroom house. It sounds crazy, but some of my fondest memories are of Christmas mornings- all of us kids would line up in front of the bathroom to use it one at a time before we all ran into the living room to look under the tree- it was an unwritten rule that no one peeked at the presents until we were all ready to go :)

I went to a wedding with brother and sister for the first time after turning 21 (I’m the baby of the family). Everyone predicted I’d be the one sick at the end of the night… ended up being my older sister who was a hot mess that night. Awkward moment – when my brother and I realized that we would have to share a bed in the hotel since she was rather sick. We definitely went pillow buffer down the middle! Haha.

You know how people say don’t let the door hit you on the way out? This morning I was walking out of my work and didn’t account for how windy it was. I literally got smacked by the door on the way out of the building as it blew back into me! I hope the security company who monitors our entrances got a good chuckle out of the video footage because I’m sure it looked ridiculous.
