Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

I got a message saying that I submitted a duplicate comment so I tried again. Same thing. Guess I won’t have a chance unless this works :(

SHARE ME! I always shared a room with my sister growing up and we used to fight over every inch of space. Funny thing is, I kind of miss those days!

Share me! While I volunteered in Brazil with a non-profit organization, I was on a trip with my boss and another coworker (we’re all American women). Our car broke down in a remote town, and the closest hotel was pretty skeezy so we all shared a room and slept in a big king-sized bed. None of us wanted our own room and they didn’t have any cots. It was not the most restful night, but it makes for a great story!

SHARE ME! the classic share story in my family is from when my sister and i would have to share a bed on family trips. after hearing “she kicked me! she looked at me!” for the 1000th time, our dad devised the brilliant solution of rolling up a wet towel from the bathroom and using it as a divider. we didn’t mind sharing after that night.

Our older daughter got a stomach bug on Halloween, then shared with a very-pregnant me, then my husband, then our younger daughter. We hit a “Grand-Slam” with all of us camping out with barf buckets next to our beds through the night. It was an awful weekend and one we haven’t soon forgotten. Now when any one of us gets a stomach bug, that person gets the “Boy in the Bubble” treatment, complete with a Lysol Spray Tan and visitors donning space suits.

Share me! I’m definitely no stranger to sharing, as I grew up sharing a room with my little sister. At the time, it wasn’t my favorite but looking back, it as definitely a character builder… for her. ;)

I remember once when I was little (probably 6 or so?), I was sharing a glass of tea with my mom. Right as I grabbed the cup from her to take a sip, the urge to sneeze very quickly overcame me. I sneezed right into the glass. Oops …

When my sisters and I were little, we were all scrunched in the backseat of my dad’s little Honda for long roadtrips. We fought all the time and drew the invisible lines that we were not supposed to cross.

Some people will find this mighty gross, but my hubby and I shared a toothbrush while travelling around Asia for a few months. We wanted an electric toothbrush (the kind that uses batteries) and didn’t want to splurge for two.. :)

I love that in the new house we don’t share walls! Our previous downstairs neighbors in our old apartment would complain about ANY little noise…

Share me: I remember back packing in Europe and having to share a youth hostel room with somebody who snored like a freight train. Welcome to Florence.

SHARE ME! My husband and I were each the first out of our siblings to get married. Our parents seem to have had a hard time adjusting to this change because they’ve twice twisted our arms into sharing hotel rooms/timeshares with the entire family on vacations. Nothing like cuddling up next to your new spouse with your sister in a roll-away at your feet.

Share Me! I have been potty training my 2 year old and my 8th month old thought it would be funny to knock the potty over and then proceed to splash in the “water” she thought it was the best thing ever! Now I can’t keep her away from the bathroom :-)

Share Me! Freshman move-in day (college). My new roommate brought only stuffed animals and movies and kept insisting that we bunk our beds (we had enough room NOT to bunk our beds) so that she could bring a futon into our room (that seriously smelled BAD) for “entertaining guests.” I knew at that point it was going to be a looooong year. After many nights of sharing her bed with new “friends” and after “sharing” my toothbrush, I requested a room change.

My sister used to steal my clothes when we were both in high school, and then try to convince me they were hers. Fortunately she has outgrown that habit (although now that we no longer live under the same roof, it would be hard fro her to pull off)!

On family road trips, my brother and I used to flip coins to see who’d get to ride in the front seat. On one trip, we made it all the way from Texas to Canada without me winning — at that point, my dad intervened.

SHARE ME! My sister is adopting a little four-year old and I was playing with him and we were sharing the toys. My sister asked him “Why do we share?” and my little guy said “Because we’re family.” The amazing thing about this is that they had only had them for a week or so at this time.

Share me! Ok, so this is a funny one. Upon starting college my freshman year my roommate and I discovered that we both had bought the exact same set of V.S. Pink underwear. So, to prevent any accidental sharing (we did our laundry together most weekends) we ended up sharpie-ing our initials onto our respective underwear tags.

SHARE ME! I was a preschool teacher for many years, so stories of sharing myself are plenty. Including the time that I was accepted to college and my parents (who brought the letter to my job) passed around my acceptance letter through each child before they handed it to me. Because, you know, they had a hand in my future as a teacher!

Every fall, my husband and his roommate get together to go to a football game at their alma mater, East Carolina University and it somehow turned into getting a hotel room at Motel 6…all 4 of us (me and the hubs and his roomie and his wife). We are way too old for this and can afford something nicer, but the guys are sentimental about the Motel 6. So we keep sharing a cheap hotel room and good fun!

During a college break trip I had to share a room with a girl who not only snored like a freight train, but also considered it normal to consume a plate full of over salted french fries and half a dozen candy bars for lunch…every day. I spent the trip sleep deprived and nauseous.
