Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

SHARE ME, please! My family went on vacation one time and I had to share a bed with my big sister. She’s one of those people that has to sleep completely spread eagle and taking up as much of the bed as possible and if there’s anything in the bed, y’know, like a PERSON, she sees it as an obstacle to her maximum spreadoutness that must be removed (all while she’s asleep, mind you.) So after about the 5th time of getting pummeled and woken up, I took the blanket off the foot of the bed and taco’d myself in it and slept in the crack between the wall and the bed on the floor.

SHARE ME! …and first time commenter. I know all about sharing. I’m the oldest of 4 girls in my family and growing up we all had to share ONE room. It was total chaos in our little house but we’re one close loving family. I have some fond memories of my childhood. Sharing everything all my life has made me appreciate and not take for granted what I have today.
Love your blog!

SHARE ME! I am a junior high teacher so I actually try and get my kids to do the opposite of sharing…answers that is. I want my kids to stop sharing answers (aka cheating).

I am so proud of my almost 4-year old daughter, she is an amazing sharer (is that a word?). It is just her isntinct to share with others, she never needs reminded, even when she is playing with kids who are not as, um, generous with their toys! I am so proud, and happy she didn’t get my stingy-ness!

Over the weekend, we decided to give our dog a few bites of leftover scrambled eggs. The dog then let the kitty come over and have some too. It was quite a sight to see them both with their heads in the bowl sharing the eggs.

I don’t know that it is a “touching story” but I love that I have a neighborhood where we’re all about sharing. Sharing a meal, sharing a beer around a fire, or sharing tools, we’re all about lending a hand. It’s nice to live in a neighborhood with great neighbors!

At our office we have a mini fridge upstairs in my bosses office to have our drinks, while the breakroom downstairs holds food and stuff. But… I have quite honestly taken over the mini fridge with my Diet Pepsi cans and there is only room for like three bottles of water. I am not a good sharer. =(

My mom coated my middle of my back-length hair in Vaseline when I was just about to turn 13 because the lady at the hair salon told her I had a nit in my hair when she was about to cut it. Instead of using special lice shampoo, to keep me from losing brain cells from chemicals, my mom chose to smother the nit to death instead. So I had to go to 7th grade for 6 weeks with completely slicked back Vaseline hair (after the Ajax, Lysol, Comet, and steel wool failed to remove it). My ponytail was like a long spike and I left grease spots on my pillow at night. I have photos to prove it. Needless to say, I don’t use Vaseline anymore.

share me :) Thankfully, my fiance’ enjoys sharing his meals with me. If he orders a new dish at a restaurant, he never gets mad when I ask to try it, & it’s a given that I always ask. On the other hand, I am not so friendly when it comes to others asking to try my food…at least I admit it!

It was difficulty learning how to share laundry duties with my husband. I’m very type-A when it comes to how I like my laundry done. So, I’ve had to loosen up on the reigns a tad since we’ve been married.

We’re currently teaching our 2-yr old to share with her baby sister. For the most part, she’s a a really good sharer, but once in a while she’ll offer the baby her own toy (baby’s toy) and turn to us and say “I’m the best sharer…now I want it back, ok?” Sounds funnier in person.

When I was in high school, my little (6 year old) brother was losing his front teeth. He asked for a bite of my corn on the cob at Famous Dave’s, then frowned and gave it back to me. I proceeded to eat it and crunched down on something hard right as he said “MY TOOTH!”. A frantic search began for his tooth and I knew it was in my full mouth… I was laughing and trying not to choke on it. I avoided swallowing it so the tooth fairy was still able to come. :)

One of the hardest things about being a newlywed is learning to share absolutely everything…and compromise. Sharing two different styles is hard! That’s why we’ve somehow decided to merge our styles to create one cohesive home that we can share together!
