Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

I’m the youngest and thought my older sister was soooo cool. My mom saved all of her clothes for me for the 5 years it took me to grow into them. Neon Umbro shorts were cool when she was 14, not when I was 14. womp womp…

Well, being in the military I’ve had to share almost every inch of living space. The bathroom, workout area, eating area, sleeping area. Needless to say I’ve had to learn how to share and make the best of it.

SHARE ME – I totally agree with those that have said sharing the bathroom at work with your higher-ups is just too weird!

SHARE ME! My brother and I shared a room for most of our childhood and he snored so loudly (even as a toddler!) that I ended up on the couch most nights.

SHARE ME! My hubby and I have a bit of a tradition when it comes to chocolate pudding. It started when we were in college and he would often make a big bowl of pudding for us to share as a special treat. We cuddle on the couch, draw a line down the middle of our huge bowl and each eat up our respective sides. We carry on the tradition now after the kids are in bed. :)

Ahhh sharing a bathroom with my entire floor in my freshman year dorm! Nothing like standing in line for 20 minutes to take a shower while wearing flip flops. Sure does make you appreciate the little things in life–like only having to share a bathroom with your husband :)

When I was a 4th year medical student I had one month externships. During one I lived with several other students at an attendings house for the month. We went with the attending and his family to the county fair one Friday night. Somehow I ended up on one of the rides that spins in circles with him. I was smashed against him the entire ride and COULD NOT move off him! Very embarrassing as we were both already married at the time!

My 4yo son loves to share his opinions. Examples? In line at Target to me about a lady, “Mommy, why is that lady’s hair so crazy?” A few minutes later to a different lady standing behind us, “Why don’t you talk normal?” A couple weeks ago in a store, “Mommy, look! Old lady!” As I, the mommy, am putting my hand on his mouth, “Mommy, why are you covering my mouth? So I don’t say that?” :)

Growing up, I shared everything with my three sisters…there was lots of tension – We grew up in the 80’s…sharing the hair dryer, curling iron and aqua net was a disaster…imagine that during the big hair days!

When I was little and had my own room, I had lots of trouble sleeping due to my seeing some scary movies. I slept with the light on each night and often times ended up sleeping on the floor of my parents bedroom. Finally, the time came for a new solution this problem. My twin sister kindly agreed to share a room with me…again. It was just what I needed to get past my fears. And a couple years later I moved back into my own room again. This time for good!

I was moving to a city to attend law school and I went there to look at apartments. As I was driving around, a driver rear-ended my car…turns out he was the head of fundraising for the law school.

Thanks for the opportunity!

Share me!!!! I’m actually not to good at sharing. I hate it actually. I can’t even share a bathroom with another person. I think it comes from growing up having to share everything. So please, please, please share your Joss & Main credit with me. It may inspire me to pay it forward :)

I unknowingly was sharing my boyfriend of 2 years with half of the female population of the University he was attending. Jerk!! Okay, maybe I exaggerated . It was more like 5 other girls. Jerk, Jerk, Jerk!

My boyfriend (unintentionally) shared his hotdog with my sweet 11 year old golden retriever at a cook out this weekend! He offered her a small piece of the hotdog as a reward for being well-behaved, but as he leaned over she lunged for his other hand, which held the full hotdog. She usually doesn’t grab food so he was stunned!

My three-year-old niece recently gave up her goodie (pacifier) to her younger brother on a trip home from the beach. A goodie is to Maddie as air is the rest of us, so it was really touching to see her help out her unhappy sibling so unselfishly. She quietly shed two big tears as she passed it over to him and nearly made the adults start crying.

I had a younger sister who loved “sharing” my clothes and accessories. Of course, it drove me nuts and I remember one time I told her to put back EVERY SINGLE THING she took that was mine. When I went to bed that night, I discovered she had placed EVERYTHING in my bed. Thanks, sis.

When I was in grad school I had a part-time receptionist job. One day my boss came in and announced, “So I’m going to borrow your car this afternoon. Where are your keys?” A little presumptuous, right? Let’s just say I wasn’t in a sharing mood that day!

When I was older than I’d like to admit (college) I hit my best friend while playing Catch Phrase in a large group because she wasn’t following the rules. I don’t know if that exactly falls into “sharing” but it’s not very good group behavior.

Share Me! I have two… the birth of my son although it was an emergency Csection so I have foggy memories of it (i was shaking so bad they had to almost sedate me). As a result my sister in law invited me into the birth of her son so I could have that experience too.

SHARE ME! When I was a kid, I used to share a pizza with my brother. Except he wouldn’t eat any of the crusts until the very end… and I realized (years later) it was so he could grab more pieces more quickly while I was still working on finishing my first slice! Little punk…

One time I took a road trip with a friend and the hotel room we stayed in had drug paraphanelia, specifically a razor and small mirror for cutting lines. Being two very “goodie two shoes” type of people, it was quite shocking to find!
