Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

I had to share my first car with my older sister. I hate loud music, she loved it. We got into a fist fight one time at a red light over the volume controls.

Share me! If I win, I guess I’ll have to practice sharing this gift with my husband by letting help decide what we spend it on. I think I can live with that!

SHARE ME! I can’t think of anything fun to share. I guess growing up in a big family, etc., sharing becomes so normal nothing stands out :)

When we were in high school, my sister and I shared a car. Our names start with the same letter, so we got a vanity plate that read, “4KS&ME,” (“for K.S. and me”) so it was correct no matter which of us was driving it. Years later, I learned that my sister had always thought it meant “For Kiss and me,” because Kissy was one of my nicknames.

SHARE ME! When I was little my brother hit me in the eye with a wiffle ball bat and I had to wear a patch on my eye for a month. I still blame him for having to get glasses (even though it is genetic).

My older sister and I used to share a bedroom when we were little. For a while we had bunk beds, and if she heard me breathing it bothered her so much she would throw her dolls (hard headed cabbage patch dolls!) at my head to get me to stop.

I once shared a hotel room with three other girls when we went to a conference in Kentucky. My best friend Sarah and I shared a bed. However, I guess I’m not very good at sharing the blankets. When we woke up I had them all and Sarah had pulled the corners of the fitted sheet off the mattress and wrapped herself in it to stay warm.

Funny story: Last night my husband was watching Cliffhanger and my 2 year old son was sitting in the room eating his dinner and totally enthralled. At one point something happened in the movie, like someone fell off a cliff or something, and Sawyer goes “OH NO!” right at the perfect time. We about fell over laughing. hilarious. :)

SHARE ME! I had to share a hotel room with my camp director at a conference (I’m the assistant director) and he snored like a chainsaw! The other counselor sharing the room ended up sleeping in the bathtub in an attempt for silence. I’ve learned to carry earplugs on my travels now :)

Share Me! My twin brother and I had a system for sharing treats. One person divided the treat, the other got to choose first. It was my parents way of making sure we shared peacefully.

So, as an excuse to get this cute co-worker to talk to me (we were up in the Colorado mountains working at a summer camp) I asked him to share his fly fishing rod with me and to show me how to cast. Long story short we’ve been married now for two years. :-)

I’m one of the founders of my roller derby league and I just love sharing my knowledge of roller derby with all of our new girls. I love seeing them grow from barely being able to skate to being the stars of the team and seeing them share their knowledge with the next group of recruits we get!

SHARE ME! The first time I went on a road time with my mother in law to meet my husband was through the middle of the country and she freaked out everytime we passed a cow. It was beyond strange. We now take the interstate where we can always find a place to stop. hah.

We are in the process of teaching our little 16 month old to share. He doesnt have a problem sharing other peoples toys, but when it comes to his own…well thats a different story. We are trying to teach him sharing at the dinner table, and with sharing his toys with us. He seems to be getting the hang of it, but we will see at the next play date.
Thanks for the great giveaway.

My b/f and I decided about a year and a half ago we only needed a one bedroom apt when we moved in together. Well…let’s just say a little too much has been shared w/ the close quarters since then and we are currently on the lookout for our first house! (With a bit more room!)

Share me! My sister is 3 years younger than me and was the typical bratty younger sibling. :-) She loved nothing more than to get me in trouble, and she was also one of those kids that mastered the art of fake crying. So on one long car trip when she was about 5 and I was about 8, she clapped her hands together (like a “slap”) and started bawling and exclaiming that I hit her! My mom didn’t even question my sister’s (dis)honesty and started scolding me…until my sister burst out laughing! So unfair!

My favorite “sharing story” is the night I met my now husband. We were both in college, and the night we met we played a drinking game where I shared too much about myself for just having met him that night. Luckily it didn’t scare him away :)

My boyfriend and I met as tour guides at our undergrad university. He pretended to trip me in front of my tour group (I was walking backwards)! The group loved it and I thought he was cute and I still do three years later.

Share me! When I first started sharing an apartment with my boyfriend, he kept urging me to try the fancy whirlpool feature of his tub. I settled in for a long, relaxing bath, hit the button, and became covered with chunks of mildew that the jets spit onto me. SO GROSS! Now I periodically run the jets with a tubful of bleach to keep them clean so that never, ever happens again.

I have a twin sister. We shared a room until we were 12 and practically everything else too.
I’d get so mad at her for creating messes that I duct taped our carpet to have equal sides so I wouldn’t get in trouble for her messes too. It didn’t work and mom wasn’t too happy that I taped the floor.

Share Me! Not much of a story…but here it is anyways. Our house is close to our neighbor’s house…our yards pretty much mesh together and we are considering getting a dog. We’ll have to put a fence up, but as excited as I am for the dog, I’m sad to break our yards apart!

Share me! Let’s see…in college, I was the yearbook editor. I shared a wing of a house-turned-office space with the newspaper staff, and during those long hours of photo and page editing, my staff and I would run upstairs (we were in the basement, the newspaper was just above us on the first floor) and “share” their food. To be fair, they “shared” a lot of our food on their deadline overnights too – specifically our many cans of Diet Coke and Dr. Pepper. We called it an unspoken agreement :)
