Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

share me! hmm..i have so many harrowing moments as a mom of three going on four. the worst was probably when my two year old son coached me through a (ahem) bowel movement in a public bathroom, just as he was coached to poop. YUCK. people didn’t think it was funny…more just gross… are you glad you asked;)??

SHARE ME!!! I was an only child and oldest grandchild on my dad’s side for 4 years … until my sister was born. When I went to see her in the hospital for the first time, I was so angry at the prospect of sharing attention with her that I pinched her. Hard. Of course, we couldn’t be closer now that we are older but it took me a couple of years to sharing the attention with her.

My mom and I traveled to Jamaica for my cousin’s wedding. We shared a room in our resort and – to my horror – I learned that my mom is an incredibly loud snorer. It was awful. Thankfully, the hotel manager took a liking to me and, the following morning, gave me my own room. For FREE.

SHARE ME – I often have to share my pillow with one of our “kids”. Our cat Bella is quite a princess and believes that she needs a memory foam cat bed and since we won’t get her one, she uses my pillow…and because her and her brother run the house, I often find myself pillow-less.

Share Me. Recently my daughter and I had to share a car which meant I had to take her to school and pick her up.

I spent the weekend in NYC for a bachelorette party and had to share a bed with a friend. Luckily it was a king bed so it wasn’t awkward!

SHARE ME!! My husband and I just moved and we are now sharing a “normal sized closet” which is a total down grade from our walk in we used to have.

SHARE ME…I am an only child, so sharing wasn’t a big issue growing up. I have a daughter, an only child as well, and trying to explain or teach sharing is interesting to say the least.

SHARE ME!– My 15 month old is all about sharing right now- which is great— except when she puts a cracker in her mouth, sucks on it for several seconds, then decides it is time to share it with mom…surely if she thinks it is delicious so will mom!

Growing up I shared a room with two sisters and my sisters best friend (who lived with us). There were so many fights over the years, but now that I’m grown, I wouldn’t trade those memories for anything.

SHARE ME!!! My kids are almost 2 and almost 4, so needless to say they don’t always share well! However, one moment they might be fighting over something and then ten minutes later they will offer the toy or snack to the other! On their own initiative! Makes for a sweet moment!

Being an only child I haven’t had to share a lot over the years. I do however love sharing a house with my husband, our cat, and our dog. There are times where we even all 4 somehow share the bed.

On every family trip, my two sisters and I argued about who’d share the bed – two parents and three girls with two beds and one roll away!
Even though I always seemed to end up sharing and wasn’t pleased about it at the time, those are some of the best memories.

A few years ago, while visiting family, my sister and I had to share a bed. Somehow, even in a king size bed, she ended up right next to me, and while thrashing around in her sleep managed to punch me right in the face! Quite the rude awakening.
Teri says
Share Me!! I had to share small living quarters with my brother-in-law and husband for 3 months. Our restroom was right next to the living room, so I would always have to pray that I would not be too loud when “doing my business” otherwise he would never let me live it down. I unfortunately was not successful.

There are 9 kids in my family. We shared everything in our tiny 4 bedroom/1 bath house. Before my dad turned the garage into a bedroom it was just 3 bedrooms. Imagine that. There was a time we had two bunk beds in one room for the 4 youngest, which I was part of.

When I was ten I had to not only share a room, but a bed with my sister for nine months!! We had to move into an apartment while we waited for our house to be complete. Luckily we were/are very close so it was actually fun. We took turns sleeping in each other’s rooms once we got into the house after that!

Share me! When we were little kids, I used to follow my brother everywhere – I was like his little shadow. One day it snowed a great deal in our area, so our parents bundled us up and sent us outside. Being the follower I was, I stumbled after my brother – and right into a great ditch covered with snow! My brother still says it’s his funniest and favorite memory, watching me disappear right before his eyes. :)

SHARE ME…I remember sharing my lunch with my classmates. Not because they didn’t have anything to eat or couldn’t afford lunch, not because I’m that nice, not because I lost a lot of bets, but because I didn’t want to eat it and I was scared to bring it home because then my mom would find out i didn’t eat my fruit/veggies/etc. and get mad at me. Guess I was two ‘green’ even way back then to just throw it out! :)

When my sister and I were little, my gay uncle and his partner gave us blonde Ken dolls who were wearing lime green swim trunks and gold mesh shirts. At the time, my sister and I were totally oblivious to the fact that there was any such thing as being gay. We were just totally thrilled to have Ken dolls because it meant we finally could have dads in our pretend Barbie families. I realized when I was a teenager that the Kens were probably better suited to have their own family. I don’t know how my parents kept a straight face when we unwrapped those presents!

Man, a story about sharing? Okay, I’ll totally rat myself out here. When we were little, I totally used to trick my younger sister into trading her hardly eaten ice cream cone for my almost-finished one. I’d tell her that the best part of eating an ice cream cone was having the perfect balance of ice cream and cone, and that I’d already eaten all the extra ice cream off of mine, and would be happy to share my perfectly balanced cone with her, and take her unbalanced cone off her hands. *Blushing*

To this day, I remind a good friend of mine about how she wouldn’t share her Cabbage Patch kid with me in pre-school (she was 3, I was 4, the Cabbage Patch kid’s name was Clarence)…We’re in our 30s now, but it’s such a handy memory to bring up, ha! ;)
