Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

For a summer internship in DC I once had to share a small bathroom with 3 other girls. It was very tight quarters.

“SHARE ME” My coworker and I were just remembering a business trip where our flight had to land in Kentucky for the night due to weather. She sat next to a young guy who was traveling for the first time with no extra money. She ended up letting him crash in the company paid for hotel room with her (separate beds, of course). So awkward

I am a teacher. I taught a wonderful little autistic guy a few years ago. Over the weekend he was working on his book report poster when his mother called me at home to inform me that according to her son…”Mrs. TankTop does not know I am autistic not artistic.”

I’m lucky to have a group of sisters an friends who are eager to share baby clothes and other hand-me-downs. We’ve saved thousands! And I love being able to share with my friends who are still having babies.

Growing up my sister and I always stole one another’s clothing. We both hated this! If she attempted to steal my shirt, I would take it right back and destroy it so she could not have it. She would do the same to me. My mom was so furious!

SHARE ME!! I always turn into an over-share-er when I’m nervous. Like the time I admitted to my boss that I took my grandpa’s cataracts (after they were surgically removed and in a little vial of liquid) to show-and-tell when I was in 2nd grade.

Share me! I loved (sarcasm) one of my college roommates…she was a great sharer (more sarcasm). She liked loud music, frigid ac, drama, and helping herself to whatever food she could find in the kitchen. She also liked to wash her boyfriend’s long hair in the kitchen sink and even set off the smoke alarms several times by straightening it with some sort of hair product. Needless to say, we were plenty thrilled when she moved out. Although she helped herself to many things that weren’t hers when she left…

A lot of these have been bordering the line of over-sharing, so I’m going there too.
Once I lived in a house with 4 guys, two of which I shared a bathroom with. Both guys (Kyle and Jeff) owned electric razors that they used for their beards. One morning, Jeff was trimming off most of his beard b/c he had a presentation to make that day, and he started using Kyle’s razor because his own was dead. Kyle walked by the bathroom and Jeff mentioned that he was borrowing his razor. Kyle said that was cool, but paused for a minute while Jeff got about half of his pretty scruffy beard trimmed, and then mentioned casually “By the way, I also use that on my pubes.”
Haha. The shocked look on Jeff’s face was hilarious, you could tell he was seriously considering leaving the house only half shaven!

On more than one occasion, due to various adventures traveling around, I’ve had to share a small bed with my BFF. There’s always some sort of debacle. Once she started falling out of the bed (not hard to do with 2 people sharing a twin) and was grasping at whatever she could in order to stay on. So she ended up grabbing my nose on her way down!

SHARE ME…..would love to win. So many things to make my house pretty. Anyway, as for sharing, I love that my two little boys always want to sleep together. They each have their own rooms with their own double beds, but they switch back and forth and share a room every night. So cute! They are 6 and 4 now so this may end but for now they love it!

There are a lot of bathroom sharing stories already, but I’m going to add another one. My husband and I got married at my grandparents’ farm last year. One (out of two) bathrooms was not useable, so my bridal attendants (three of them), my parents, and myself all had to share a bathroom as we were getting ready, and then had to share it among our 90 guests!

My sister and I used to “share” the chore of doing dishes growing up which we both hated. I figured out during her trips to the bathroom to get out of helping clear the table that if I quick cleared and washed, she would be in the kitchen by herself drying and putting away and I would be on my way to doing fun stuff while she was still working. This lasted for years without her figuring out that we could have been working together instead of crying about being in the kitchen all alone. Oh the things older sisters will do.

Having to share the back seat of my parent’s Jeep Cherokee with my two sisters on road trips was the worst! Hours of “she’s touching me!” “She’s in my space!”
I have no idea how my parents didn’t leave us on the side of the road.

My brother was too cute when he was little. At preschool show-and-tell he took all my mom’s old driver’s licenses and told his whole class (and teachers) about them. My mom had no idea he’d done this, till she picked him up and the teachers told her how much they LOVED the photos :)

I had to share a hotel room once with a co-worker/friend on a business trip. In the middle of the night she sat straight up in her bed and screamed something unintelligible. Then she laid back down and went back to sleep! I couldn’t get back to sleep for hours!

SHARE ME! My sisters and I were super lucky growing up — never did have to share a bedroom! The bathroom sharing made up for it though…I feel like it took hours for us to get ready. 3 showers + 3 sets of makeup to apply + 3 heads of hair to dry/style = my dad was one patient fella. ;)
