Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

When I worked in Japan I had to go on a weekend trip with my boss and clients to a japanese hot spring. Sounds fun, except for that part which involved getting naked and soaking in the bath with my boss!! aghhhh!

I have a 4 and 5 year old. As with most kids, they have a hard time sharing their favorite things. However, these two surprise me to no end. If one kid gets a “something special” such as an extra snack or sticker, they always ask for an extra one to give to the other… Wait… Maybe they are really just not wanting to share, so they make sure to get extra…. Those sneaky little…. ;) lol

My mom put a lock on the outside of my sister’s bedroom door so I couldn’t go in and play with her stuff when she was at kindergarten. She once came upon me trying to stand on stuffed animals to unlock it!

I have a four year old son and a five year old nephew. I was driving them home one evening-their conversation in the backseat, “Hey Brody guess what? My mom likes vampires. She has movies and books about them.” My son, “My mom does too. She has one of the guys in the house, and he scares me all the tine. I told her to put it away, but she says she likes him.”
Yes, I am a Twi-Hard ;)

When I was much younger my family had a trip to Grandmas house. I was mad because I had to share a bed with my brother so i moved my pillow as far over as I could so we wouldnt be touching in any way. As I moved my pillow there was a dead mouse underneath! Let me just say… I am very happy that I had to share that bed with him because I would of never found that mouse and slept on it all night! (My mom gave me a new pillow and changed the sheets searching for more creatures before we went to bed…)

SHARE ME! Why does everyone think it’s so weird that I don’t want to share a bathroom with my husband just because we’re married?? We have two full baths, I don’t get why you would share!

SHARE ME! I’ve never really minded sharing my meals, but now that I’m pregnant you’d be risking your life to ask for a bite of my food.

My college roommates and I decided to visit our alma mater. Being as cheap as we all are we all decided to share one hotel room. After a longggggg nite of partying it up – I woke up the next morning hearing two of them trying to back their bottoms up together trying to fart at the same time to see if the other would explode. I think this counts as Oversharing and Sharing! ha!

Just yesterday, my 21-month old son ran over to me, yelled “He-ye-go!” and thrust his yogurt-covered spoon into my eye (he was aiming for my mouth, of course). He loves to share with his mommy!

My sister decide to be sisterly one Christmas Eve when we were young and let me share a bed with her, to be all close and family-ish in the name of the holidays. She was probably about 15 and I was about 8. Like many kids, I tossed and turned and kicked… and slept soundly. Her–not so much. That’s the last time we shared a bed!

Growing up I shared a room with my three younger sisters, and having larger age gaps ( with 8 years being the greatest btw me and my youngest sis) wasnt always the easiest….somehow we made it work and came out closer in the end. This past weekend I went homefor my bridal shower, and needless to say it was just like old times, plus three of my gfs, all in one bed and gabbing the night away!

Share me! One time I got stuck in LA and ended up sharing a hotel room with a nice woman from NYC who was trying to get back to the city. She was on business and got stuck, so she paid for the room (since the company would have had to anyways), which this (at the time) broke college student really appreciated!

The best thing about having dorm sisters in college was definitely sharing all the clothes! It was like having a whole floor of closets to choose from on any given day!!

My sister and I shared a bathroom growing up… she was very much not a morning person and, apparently, I liked to push her buttons in the morning. Needless to say, mornings in my house were often filled with drama.

Share Me! On my first trip with my now husband, he picked a random hotel off the internet versus going with the hotels recommended by the couple whose wedding we were attending. The hotel ended up being just outside of the red light district and definitely needed a lot of updating. We laugh about it now but he was so embarrassed at the time.

SHARE ME! I think my biggest shock to share was when I got married and had to start sharing a bank account and another person being was able to have a say in where I spend my money. (We both worked at banks so we were both OCD in our own ways about money.)

heart-warming story… best one I can think of is my fiance’s recent proposal. We had been living apart for the last 6 months due to his new job (real estate broker), and we agreed that I would move down once he got on his feet. He got his first deal a couple weeks into his move, and earmarked the future commission for my ring. That deal turned out to be the deal from hell! What should have taken 45 days took FOUR months due to some errors on the lender’s part. Less than a week after the deal finally closed, he surprised me at work and, in front of my 50+ coworkers, popped the question! He also planned a Seattle adventure for us (and had already requested the time off from my boss!). Thinking of all the work he went through to finally bring me back down to him surely warms my heart ;)
