Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

As an only child it is assumed that I do not know how to share BUT my Mom reminds me that as a kid I would always ‘share’ my barrets with other little girls who liked them. I’d come home with half my hair out cause I couldn’t help myself.

I had a roommate in college who would sleep walk and she had a habit of getting up from her bed and sleepwalking to mine :). I had to share my bed with her many times. Luckily it was never at an awkward time and I am a pretty hard sleeper :)

I love that my two girls are beginning to share with each other. Little one, 17 months, loves to share her toys with big one, 30 months. Makes me so proud when big one runs over to little one and says “here for you sissy”.

SHARE ME! Last summer I went to a conference with a bunch of coworkers. After dinner, I had horrible gas! It was terribly embarrassing — especially since I was sharing a room with one of them. She says she will never, ever share a room with me again.

The first time I met my neighbor, she divulged her entire mental health history to me because she was sure we were going to be “great friends”. Now, twelve years later if she sees me walking down the street, she won’t even look at me. No explanations… HMMMMM…..

SHARE ME!!! Oh, I don’t know that I have a good story…I guess I had a dream the other night that I got into a fight with one of my best friends because she didn’t invite me to a Harry Potter movie night…when I woke up I almost called her to ask her why she did that. My husband had to remind me that it was only a dream. My friend and I thoroughly laughed about it later.

The first time I shared a room with someone was freshman year of college. I’m TERRIBLE at waking up in the morning, so for an entire year, my roomie listened to my alarm clock for 30-plus minutes every morning…and then volunteered to live with me again. Needless to say, we’re still close friends. That’s not the kind of tolerance you walk away from.

My husband would kill me for telling this story but he was giving our then 7 month old a bath one night and i heard her freak out. i asked what the problem was because normally she loves her bath! he replied that he took her toy because he had noticed that she wasn’t very good at sharing and he was trying to teach her. umm yeah she wasn’t very good at sharing because she was 7 months old! he didn’t try that again :)

I love how my kids share toys and food…most of the time! The little one really likes to eat though, so watch out if you try to take something when she’s really hungry!

My adorable two year old niece has just discovered “mine” and “share”. She loves to share her toys, snacks, her books, kisses and hugs and just about everything she thinks you should be interested in. However, we have found that her compassion to share stops at the bubble wand from her new bottle of bubbles which with she holds onto with a death grip.

Well, since both my husband and I would benefit from this giveaway I’ll use him as an example. He LOVES to share beers with guys (feels like he can try several different types at once without the consequences) but has yet to meet a fried who reciprocates this interest. Still, he is never ashamed to ask “Bro, wanna share a beer?” Gotta love that kind of security in your manliness. :)

It wasn’t until college that i realized the concept of sharing meant different things to different people. I remember catching one roommate in my mini-fridge drinking milk right from the jug. And another that thought sharing toothbrushes and deodorant was no big deal.

My most harrowing sharing moment occurred in the taxi on the way back to the airport at the end of our honeymoon. I was making polite conversation, and the taxi driver began to over-share to an alarming degree. I learned more about her than I know about my own cousins! Yikes.

Share Me! I once shared a room with three random guys at a hostel in Hong Kong. I had booked a private room, but they rented it out before I got there, so I was stuck. Ended up being ok, switched rooms after one night.

SHARE ME! As a kid, I was always terrible with sharing food. I was instantly horrified if my father even touched one of my french fries. And, in true kid fashion, I would never finish all of my food anyway. Even now, my boyfriend is really cautious about asking if he can have a bite of whatever is on my plate. Happy to say that I’m much better about it, but the initial twinge of “Back off, I’m starving!” is still there. Oh, and my eyes are still waaaaaaay bigger than my stomach.

SHARE ME! One time, on a ladies’ church retreat, I had to share a room with a lady who was 8 months pregnant. She snored the ENTIRE night – I felt bad for her & didn’t want to wake her so I tried sleeping on the sofa in the living room, but never got a wink!

Share me! My sister and I are 2 years apart and shared everything–chicken pox, a room, our wardrobe, friends, and even shoes until my feet outgrew hers (that’s just not fair since she’s taller :P )

Add in one very chatty person (ME) and the “its a small world” theme and in one conversation with someone I randomly met on a mountain top in Hawaii and you get the most insane 6 degrees of separation… ever.
The dude on the mountain top was the ex-next door neighbor of a college professor of mine AND the ex-husband of a florist in my home town who’s son was fishing buddies with an ex-boyfriend of mine from high school. Found this out in about 20 minutes after having met this dude – over sharer much? Yup, thats me. :)

SHARE ME!!! I went to Boston for 1 summer and shared a 1 bedroom apartment with 8 other girls……yep only 1 bathroom for 9 women! We were uber-cheap, but it was a lot of fun and we all saved ourselves a lot of money on rent to spend on important stuff…like clothes :)!

SHARE ME! A memory that I’ll never forget is sharing the bottom half of a twin bunk bed with my sister while my brother slept on top. During that time, I was in high school and had to start walking to my bus stop before the sun came up. I was too scared to walk alone so my sweet little sister would walk with me every morning.

Once in college, my bestie and I had a really difficult essay test in front of us. Somehow we procrastinated in studying so we decided to pull an all-nighter. We were so delirious at 4am that we decided to “nap” for a couple of hours. We woke up a few hours later IN THE WRONG DORM ROOM. We were so delirious that we wandered into another residence hall and fell asleep in an empty dorm. We’ll never forget waking up that morning :)
