Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

SHARE ME!!! When I was young my mom made me and my brother share a soda. One had to pour and the other got to pick first. I was pretty convinced that being the first picker was the better deal. :-) but I remember that and will probably do the same for our children. but with juice. no soda! lol

In college a bunch of friends decided to drive to Vegas from Portland, Or (about 18 hours). We brought 2 cars with 10 people, which wasn’t bad, but then we also decided to share 2 hotel rooms. There were daily slot tournaments with the loser sleeping on the floor.

Share me…having 2 boys sharing a bedroom and they are polar opposites. The youngest can’t stop talking and the oldest needs complete quiet to sleep. Talk about harrowing!!! Every night is a battle!

SHARE ME!! I once shared my bra with a friend at a club one night. For some reason she needed one and I took mine off and offered it to her…..Needless to say, I don’t drink alcohol much that more ;)

One day my sister and I were walking down the aisle of a department store. I quickly grabbed a new perfume to try and sprayed my arm. Seeing a figure out of the corner of my eye I threw my arm out and yelled “smell it”. Only my sister had stopped to admire something and I had thrown my arm in some strangers face. It was quite amusing for all parties involved especially my sister.

Share me! This may sound a bit ridiculous, but my best friend and I used to share the toilet when we were little! When we both had to go, we sat back to back and went! Its very embarrassing when our parents bring it up now :/

Share me!!! I started the potty training process with my 2 year old today and I was telling her about the treats she’d get for going on the potty. When I asked her if she’d like that she said, “No. I want fireworks!” and threw her hands in the air.

Share Me! When I was 3 my mother thought it would be good (it being the 70s and all) to teach me the proper names of all the body parts. She neglected to tell me that certain ones were for family discussions only. At the grocery store, I proudly told an 80 year old woman in line before us: “You have a va**na!”. My poor mom…

The “sharing” memory that comes to mind is the fact that my mom would buy the same pants for my siblings and I. The problem with that is that I was the middle child…a girl stuck between two boys. How awesome did I look sporting my brother’s hand-me-down toughskins (Sears brand pants). Perhaps a little J&M credit could help me overcome this memory ;)

What I don’t like to share??? My drink! If I get a drink at the movies or a restaurant, my husband always assumes we’ll just share. Sorry sir…get your own beverage if you’re thirsty!

SHARE ME! Does buying something for our house with these potential winnings count as “sharing” with my husband? I think so!

After high school, I got a full-time job and moved out of my parents home. A friend from church moved in and split the rent. She had a stick-shift car, and I had an automatic. There were times we needed to borrow each other’s cars, so she tried to teach me to drive hers (I didn’t know how to drive a stick). Let’s just say being stopped, on a hill, with traffic behind you was too much pressure for me (I stalled the car and had cars behind me honking at me). Even though she tried to share her car with me, I only drove mine from that point on.

I think this counts as harrowing. When I was a little, the neighbor girl across the street used to pick MY nose and eat it. That’s a whole nother level of “sharing”. Ugh, it still makes my stomach turn!

My college roommate and I bonded while sharing a bottle of liquor one night freshman year. We graduated five years ago and are still best friends even though we are 12,000 miles apart. He was my best man at my wedding.

SHARE ME! I can’t wait to receive the gorgeous headboard from your collection. Bedroom reno almost complete. My arms are sore from stencilling, hanging a chandelier and constructing the papa Pax unit this weekend. P.S. I love Joss and Main and Ufab, two new discoveries for me thanks to YHL :)

SHARE ME! My sister and I shared a car when we were in highschool and college. This would have been fine except that since we both had a set of keys to it, if she was driving around with friends and saw the car parked somewhere she would move it to a different parking space. I wasn’t sure the first couple of times whether I was just losing my mind or not…

WE have shared our home with a wonderful pug for the past 2 years and we recently introduced a new pug puppy to the mix. My heart constantly swells at the cuteness of our 2 year old cuddling and sharing his toys with Penny (new puppy).

My sister and I shared…..looks. We aren’t twins – she is 2 years older – but growing up we looked very similar and were the same height. We looked so similar are swim coaches gave us shirts and swim caps that said, “I’m S.V. Not D.V.” and “I’m D.V. Not S.V.” so they would stop confusing us all the time. As we got older we didn’t look as similar anymore but I always thought it was an honor for anyone to confuse me with my awesome big sister!

Share me! My sister and I had our own bathrooms growing up but we were really close and always thought it would be fun to share (insane I know). So every morning when I would get ready, she would sit outside my bathroom and watch me put on my makeup (she was two years younger and didn’t wear makeup for several years after I started). We laugh about it today because who would voluntarily spend their mornings watching someone else get ready?

Being an only child, I have always struggled with sharing. Most recently, I have been learning to share the covers with my fiancee while sleeping. Last week, I even decided to share my germs… keeping bronchitis alive and well in our household. Go me!

My hubby says I’m not a good food sharer. (He’s probably right). You know, I like my food! It has turned into a bit of a family joke for us.
So one night at the kitchen table, we had something that I particularly loved with all my heart. Quantities were limited, and my sweet, precious 3 year old said, “Mommy, can I have some?” My husband just looked at me to see what I’d do. I just passed my plate to my little sweetie and said “you bet!” Only my husband knew that, truthfully, that took a bit of effort on my part. But mamas can’t be stingy with their little ones!

On my engagement anniversary, my fiance flew in to town ( he works two states over) to take me out. I come home to change after a 15 hour shift at work, to find a disgusting smell. My upstairs neighbor’s toilet flooded and it flooded me downstairs! she never turned her water off for over a day and it ruined my apartment! I had just moved in 5 months before, bought all new furniture had my carpets cleaned, everything painted! ruined!! after haggling with insurance, really bad contractors and 5 months later, i finally got it all fixed and finished it! that was something.

Heartwarming story that makes my <3 slush up. Background info: I'm a single mom & my son has autism. Autism makes him take things extremely literally.
The other day, we had a convo that went down like so: "mommy, what you doing?" me: "working out" my son: "why?" me: "so I can get healthier and littler". My son pauses for a second, and starts crying really hard and tells me, "but I don't want you to be little. I love you and I want you to be my mommy still. If you're little like me, I won't have a mommy and no one will take care of me!!!" Melt!! Apparently he can't share his mommy with the scale…<3
