Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

I actually have some mild anxiety sharing appetizers or food with my husband. He eats SO fast and if I don’t hurry, I won’t get any.

SHARE ME… I’m an only child, but whenever my cousins came to town everyone would always pack into my Grandma’s house. It wasn’t unheard of to have 10 people sharing two bathrooms and sleeping on every available space. I loved it!

Ugh!! Your suggestion for things to write about, sharing a hotel room with my boss, brought back baaaad memories! I had to share a room for 4 nights with my boss who snored snored so loudly. I got very little sleep those four nights and had to sit through boring meetings with her each day and struggle to stay awake.

My mom and I shared clothes and jewelry and makeup and everything else (only girl) while I lived at home. It’s been years since I’ve lived with her, but the sharing continues across three state lines :)

I’ve shared a room my entire life with one exception: my senior year of college. One night I got out of the shower, put on my robe, and went into my room to work on a paper. Suddenly it dawned on me that no one was going to be walking in….this was MY space! I could wear whatever I wanted to and no one would know. So I put on my craziest PJs and didn’t fear the judgement. ‘Twas glorious.

Out of 31 years, only 2 of those did I have my very own bedroom. I always had to share with one of my sisters when I was growing up, then there were roommates, and now there is my boyfriend.

My brother, sister, and I all share a bathroom. When we were young, my sister had gone on a farm field trip where they issued a jar of corn kernels to each students. She ended up spilling them in the sink somehow and we thought we had cleaned them all up. About a week or two later I go into the bathroom and turn on the light only to be greeted by a plant that had been growing in our sink and had finally reached the sink bowl!

Share me! My sister and I shared a bedroom all through high school, but to make it feel like two rooms instead of one we hung a tie-dyed curtain straight down the middle!

Having four siblings meant a lot of sharing was required while I was growing up! Unfortunately, my youngest sister didn’t understand that concept for a few years. When someone had something she wanted she would let loose ear-splitting shrieks over and over until we handed it over.

I have little impulse control when it comes to sharing. If I see something neat on tv, heard a funny joke or just cooked a great dinner, I have to share with someone!

I wish I could think of a good sharing story… Can’t probably because I’m selfish. I have been known to hide wine and ice cream from my fiance so he doesn’t finish them!

SHARE ME! In high school and college a friend of mine and I shared a pair of jeans. We saw them at a thrift store and both wanted them, but couldn’t decide who should get them. So, we split the cost and shuttled them back and forth for quite a while. We’re still friends, but I have no idea what happened to the jeans.

My husband and I share one car. Everyone thinks we’re crazy but we love starting and ending our work day with that built in bonding time. And let’s be honest… the saved money is an added bonus! :)

SHARE ME! I did have to share a hotel room with my boss on a business trip a few years ago. Nothing too horrible happened – although I kept a low profile. She talked a lot about other people, so I was concerned what she may tell others about my habits.

SHARE ME!! When I was little, my parents had a ’56 Convertible VW Beetle. I used to have to share the luggage compartment (the little space behind the back seat) with my brother when we would go places as a family (I’m #7 of 8 children). Good times and super safe.

I shared a bedroom with my older and younger sister until my older sister left for collage. It was a large room but we had our share of good and bad times. We made forts out of our bunk beds when we were younger, shared clothes and played barbies. Later we fought over clothes and cried about boyfriends. I loved sharing a room with my sisters.

SHARE ME! My husband and I are both only children. We sometimes laugh when we realize that we are both suffering from “only child syndrome” – I’ve definitely learned to share my space, things, and time with someone and I’m happy to do so with him. :)

My sophomore year of college, my roommate and I signed up for a room that we thought would share a bathroom with two other girls. Unfortunately, we ended up sharing the 3.5×10 foot space with THREE other girls because their room was a corner room and therefore bigger. I still shudder thinking about five girls sharing one shower and one toilet and two sinks. I ended up taking a lot of 3 AM showers and doing (and receiving) a lot of passive aggressive moving of other people’s things.

I had to share with my younger sister. Being only 2 years apart, we shared a room, toys, books. We went to the same school too. It drove me nuts then to have my younger sister around all the time. Now that we are grown up and have our own families and lives, it makes me kind of miss that a bit. It wasn’t that bad and we have a lot more in common now :)

I don’t really have any funny stories about sharing, but I know that my brother missed that lesson when we were growing up. At least, I’m okay with blaming it on him anyway! : )
