Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

The grossest sharing moment I’ve had is when I accidentally “shared” my husband’s toothbrush. I love my husband, but not his toothbrush!

SHARE ME! We are in the ‘learning to share’ stage with our daughter (she’s 20 months) and we thought it was going rather well, but lately there has been a lot of “MINE!” coming from our little one. We might need to add another baby here soon for her to learn to share with before it gets out of control! :)

My sister and I shared a room for awhile when we were growing up…complete with the line of tape on the floor marking ownership of each side :) Don’t remember who had the side with the door, though. Haha!
Thanks for another great giveaway!

I am a recruiter, so sometimes people over share their lives with me. I had one guy coaching his wife through labor while interviewing with me, and I get the toilet flushers ALL the time. Good times!

My toddlers are wonderful at sharing….so long as it is half chewed, slobbered on, granola bar that they no longer want, then they decide to “share” with Mommy.

To me the most sharing I have done in recent years includes all that I share with my two kids. First and foremost we all have our own beds but can’t seem to break way from sharing a family bed. Mommy, daddy, And two little one’s equals lots of shared blankets and snuggles:)

I have way too many moments of over-sharing, so I’ll just go with a benign one. When we were little, my brothers and I used to share a bed on Christmas Eve and giggle all night. It’s probably the only time we shared gladly until we were grown-ups :)

My sister and I used to share a bathroom, and because I’d seen a book at the school library called, “Who Put That Hair In My Toothbrush?” I put hair in her toothbrush. We were the only two siblings, so of course she knew it was me.

My husband and I were meeting my in-laws at an out of town wedding. We had booked our hotel room about 2 months prior to the event as did my in-laws… or so we thought. When we all went to check in to our respective rooms, we come to find out that my in-laws reservation is no where to be found. So my husband asks to switch from a room with 1 king size bed to a room with 2 queens so we could graciously share. Turns out, my FIL sleeps in his underwear, tighty-whitey underwear. Considering he didn’t think he’d be sharing a room with his son and daughter-in-law (me!) he didn’t pack pajamas. Oh lucky me…..

I did not share well when I was young, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve gotten better at it. One thing I don’t like to share is food on my plate (at least until I’m finished eating). I will share, but secretly I’ll be very unhappy about it. I think I acquired this bad habit when I started dating my very athletic, huge-portion-eating boyfriend. Because he eats so much to refuel I feel I have to guard my plate of food like it’s the only thing I’ll get. Once I get full anyone is welcome to whatever is left, but don’t ask for a bite before then; I’ll share like I don’t care, but secretly I’ll be a little angry about it. ;)

SHARE ME! I ran away from home when I was around 9 years old. We lived close to the Balboa train station in the Panama Canal Zone, so I walked to the station and hung out for awhile, knowing that my parents were suffering because they couldn’t find me. When I got bored, and felt that I”d inflicted enough punishment, I went back home. And guess what?! Nobody even noticed I was gone!!!

Accidently sharing a toothbrush with a girl I didn’t know when I was staying in a hostel from Italy. Our toothbrushes looked exactly the same. She accused me of doing it maliciously and on purpose… but I didn’t want to use her toothbrush either!

When I was about 12, my friend and I decided to try and boil water over a candle in her barn (I know, really good idea, yeah?). One candle was takin’ waaaaaay too long so we added about 5 more…and then all of a sudden they WHOOSHED into one giant flame. We panicked and tried to use our “fire extinguisher” (an old Windex bottle we filled with water…that was our second smart idea.) Well that clearly didn’t work, but it just so happened that her uncle had told her a story the week before about putting a stove fire out with salt. So we dumped a big bucket of rock salt for melting snow all over and and it went out. I still can’t believe we didn’t burn down the barn!

SHARE ME! My family (of 5) took several road trips visiting National parks in the West and my dad always rented a small sedan so the three kids had to squeeze in together for hours in the back, sharing the limited space. We were pushed over the edge the year he bought a styrofoam cooler and placed it in between the front seats for our picnic lunches (remember how those squeak!?).

SHARE ME! In high school I shared a room with my parents, brother, and a friend who was staying with us at the time for over 3 months during our house renovation. We slept in bunk beds–the kind with the double bottom and twin top. We had one closet and the space under the beds for our clothes and personal items. Everything else was in storage. Thank God it was spring/summer and we didn’t have heavy items! It was quite the family bonding experiance.

SHARE ME! I have twin boys who are almost a year old. Who would have known it would be so hard to teach them to share! They each have a toy they are very possessive of – E’s is the walker and A’s is his I Spy Bunny book. When A goes for the walker, E drops whatever he is doing to go take it back and vice versa with the bunny book. Hopefully, they will have the sharing thing down by the time they go to preschool!!

SHARE ME! When I was in middle school, my younger cousin (who I was really close with) moved to my school district and started attending my old elementary school. My best friend’s little sister happened to be the same age as my cousin so I told her to look out for the new kid in school and to be nice to her. Little did I know that they would become BFFs! At first, I was really happy that they had become friends, but when we both ended up at our friends’ house one weekend for an unexpected sleepover, the claws came out and I was so mad that she was encroaching on MY territory that we literally fought it out in our friends’ computer room. Our friends couldn’t tell if we were just joking around or if we were really angry, but they broke us up anyway and I think we all just went to bed. Oh, but we’re all still friends! :)
