Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

SHARE ME! Hmmm… oh- got it! I had to share not only a hotel room.. but a BED with my boss once! Thankfully we got along and so it wasn’t as awkward as it could have been. Three of us were sharing a hotel room (cheap cheap company…) and two of us were at the same level (but my friend reported to someone else, not on the trip with us) and she jumps in with ‘I’ll take my own bed’… leaving my boss and I no choice but to share. Awkward!

Our twin girls are only 10 months old but we already have sharing issues. The oldest (by only one minute) constantly takes toys from the youngest – it is ridiculous – we tell the little one to take it back but she is often content to just play with something else. Oh my how we love these girls :-)

SHARE ME…when my hubs and I were first married we had to share a double bed…not fun for two people who like to sprawl out when they sleep :)

This maybe gross, but my husband and I started sharing a toothbrush within 5 months of starting to date. Sometimes we buy our own, but we each by different kinds and swap sometimes.

Share me! I have been married for 8 years, all of which my husband has been doing his education. We will finally have a permanent job in a small town of 6000 in a state that is across the country from my family. All the houses in this town are old. The “new” houses are built in the 50s. That is the adventure we have ahead of us, and also how I found your blog. :)

I grew up in a house full of boys and we would always go to their sporting events and they would never share their snacks with me. So one year I signed up to play soccer just so I could get the free snacks…however one attempt at playing goalie and I was done for!

My brother and my rooms were right across from each other with only the hallway (long ways) separating us. We used to get sent to our rooms for fighting so we would stack books one right next to each other so we could make them an extension of our room and wind up in one of them playing together!

I remember the first time I shared a cookie with my son. He was not yet on solid foods, but was watching me with desperate eyes while I ate. I couldn’t bear it so I gave him the rest of the cookie. He put it up to his mouth, started gumming at it, and his eyes got wider and wider and he didn’t take his hands away from his mouth until he had completely devoured the cookie. Amazed, I handed him another one. He was so emotional about it he grabbed the cookie, burst into tears, and stuffed it in his mouth.
We switched him to solid foods that night.

Growing up I shared one (kind of small) bathroom with my two sisters. It wasn’t that bad, and it certainly taught me to get in and out of the bathroom quickly!

I remember spending summers at my grandparents with my other cousins and relatives. We would have up to 10 people in a small house all sharing one bathroom. Not good when 8 out of the 10 people were all girls!

Share me!! Some of my fondest memories are the four years of college where I shared a dorm room with my friends. I will always remember the fun we had in our tiny shared space – ordering late night pizza, staying up all night studying together, watching t.v., and just goofing around. Great memories!

I grew up sharing a bed with my brother when we traveled. He is a cover hog, I used to wake up shivering, wrapped in a sheet while he had the rest of the covers on his side of the bed.

My 4-year-old has recently decided she wants to marry her dad. I’ve tried explaining to her why that isn’t the best idea for a host of reasons, one of them being the fact that he’s already married to me. Her response was, “That’s OK, we can share.” She understands sharing, now to work on polygamy and incest…

I shared a room and a full size bed with my sister for about a year (waiting to move to a bigger house). She was a very wild sleeper and would always hit me during the night. The fitted sheet had a thick line in the middle and I told her that if she ever rolled over towards my side I would push her off the bed. This is bad but I did pushed her once and after that she never hit me again!!!

In college we basically had communal closets. We all shared our clothes. The only downside was wear and tear. My friend Erin would often borrow clothes and either lose them, puke or pee on them. Oh the joys of underage drinking! I once found her cleaning up puke all over the hallway floor wearing my favorite jeans!

I had to share a room with my younger sister (we are two years apart) up until I was about 9 or 10. Our parents constantly harped on us for having a messy room until they finally gave us our own rooms – they then discovered they had a messy youngest daughter. I told them!

I just spent the weekend sharing a very tiny bathroom with my now FIANCE and his three roommates. They were nice enough to clean before I arrived, but it did not stay clean for very long. Since my boyfriend proposed on Saturday night, I’d say that it was very well worth it!

You: are alone in the old motel room standing in front of the bathroom vanity mirror doing makeup, and feel the unmistakeable feeling of someone as tall as you brushing your back as they walk behind you, and you see no one in the mirror.
Companion: comes back into the motel room from lobby, starts digging through luggage on the other side of the room…. Calls out nervously “Hey did you just walk over here??”
You: tells companion…..”I wasn’t going to say anything…. but while you were out….I felt it too”

When my husband and I travel we usually both bring our own sonicare toothbrush, which take up a lot of space. This past vacation I brought mine and it was not charged so it died the first day. We had to share the base of the toothbrush (with our own brushes)and decided that we should have been doing that all along!
