Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

Sharing a car when you’re a teenager with your parents is one of the hardest things to do. You want to run everywhere, all the time! The freedom! But! You’re parents being wise and responsible don’t see the point or need for you to go out 24×7. haha

SHARE ME! The first time I had to share a room was in college. My roommate was nice but had a few strange habits such as waking up in the middle of the night to go sit at her desk and color in her coloring books!

SHARE ME! My brother and I shared a car all through high school, and a house all through college. This led to multiple knock down, drag out, brutal fights and arguments. It also was just part of growing up and I did (and still!) love him very much.

I have an older brother by 7 years and one of my biggest frustrations was having to share the bathroom. My poor parents endured much yelling through my early teen years, but the funniest part was one day I had gotten fed up with getting hand-me-downs from him and loudly proclaimed: “Everything I have was already used by you! Even mom’s uterus!”
Safe to say the whole family cracked up at my 15 y/o self’s concept of ‘sharing’.

My siblings and I used to have to share everything growing up! Not because we had to financially, but because my dad was so frugal. We even shared fries everytime we went to McDonalds! Looking back, it was all worth it.

Share me! When I was a little tyke, my mom and I would often walk up to the ice cream store on summer evenings. She always choose chocolate ice cream. I always choose some bright-colored fruit delight. Without fail, before we got home I asked her to trade and she indulged me.

Share me! I grew up sharing a bathroom with my two sisters. In addition to many fights over whose turn it was to use the sink, I also remember many fun times playing “make-over” together with my mom’s makeup!

Share Me! I once went to a work conference with three co-workers and we all shared one room. Needless to say we had to share beds. In the wee hours of the morning my bed-mate…umm…shall we say passed some gas in her barely awake state. Pretty funny!

I have to share a room with a co-worker at a conference in a few weeks. I like to sleep with a sound machine (like Clara!). I am nervous that it will bother my colleague, and therefore, I won’t sleep and will be grouchy for two days.
1/10,000…someone has got to win, right? :) Thank you both; this is very generous of you!

I was visiting a good friend of mine. She didn’t believe in making her not-so- well-behaved 2 yr. old to share. The 2 yr. old upon getting up from her nap discovered that I was sitting on her stool as she walked into the living room. She proceeded to throw a big fit and my friend asked me to get up so she could have her stool. I am not one to take toys away from children but I thought this very rude and disrespectful.

SHARE ME!!! I’ll share my crazy story of the day. Today, when I went to change my 11 month old daughter’s diaper, I found a staple in her leg! I’m pretty sure my heart stopped beating. needless to say we were at the Doctor’s office within 5 minutes (not even her pediatrician, we went to the closest one we could find) and they took it out. She is fine and was such a trooper! I love her so much and her strength amazes me. What a day!

Share me! As a kid, sharing a hotel room bed with my brother… my dad put pillows down the middle of the bed to protect me from his crazy kicking!

The WORST sharing I’ve ever done was my time abroad when I shared my BED with a colony of BED BUGS. UGH. Thankfully, that ended quickly and I was able to get out of there, but discovering the creepy crawlies under my pillow one night about sent me through the roof. I still get goosebumps thinking about it….eew.

I remember when my daughter was about 11 months old and wanted terribly what her dad was eating. He jokingly opened his mouth as an offering and she went right ahead and helped herself with her own mouth (no hands). We were dying laughing at her eagerness to eat what he was, and her innocence of not knowing better.

I had to share my now husband with other ladies for a whole year before he’d be my boyfriend. He said humans were animals driven by the need to spread their seed and conquer. Luckily he’s over THAT phase!

When I was a little girl and had some good candy or something, my brother (a year older), would always tell me that I had to share because Jesus said I should…he got me to share everytime. Now my children say the same thing to each other!

I don’t really have limits when it comes to sharing food. My family and good friends have come to expect that I’ll eat off their plate without asking and they do the same back. It can be a bit odd when I’m eating with a new person and sometimes forget that unlike me, they may have food-sharing issues!

SHARE ME! The “sharing a hotel room with your boss” line made me think of the time I attended a conference in college with my professor, who I totally idolized. Flying out and staying in a hotel room with her was totally exciting and intimidating because she was so smart, beautiful, and stylish. The last night of our trip, we both had several beers after dinner and I ended up getting WAY drunker than anticipated. I was hungover and sick the entire flight back the next morning, which was really embarrassing. Thankfully she was really cool about it and we definitely bonded while boozing together.

My college roommate and I used to share clothes. She was about 5’10 and I am only 5’3, which made for some interesting outfits. I would wear her capris as jeans in the winter when I had no more clean clothes!

SHARE ME!! Hmm, sharing. Well, I have a two-year-old, so this is a hot topic in our home…we like to remind our son of the time in the Bible that a little boy shared his lunch, and Jesus used it to feed all the people that had gathered to hear him teach. “Jesus helps us share, and uses our sharing to help others!” :)

SHARE ME!! So a few years back…my younger sister had just gotten her driver’s license. She asked me to “share” my car with her one night so she could go out with her friends. I said okay but after she left I noticed my brand new earrings were missing. Needless to say I was a little more than angry, I mean, I gave her my car and then she thiefs my earrings?! So to get back at her I found out where she went and moved my car to different parking spot. She completely freaked! She frantically called the police then called me in tears thinking she had lost my car. Although it was pretty funny I felt kinda bad but, lesson learned, she always remembered to ask after that!
