Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

The best experience (and probably the worst) was sharing a house with 27 other girls in college. Great fun, terrible drama, but something that I’m glad I did. The good times far outweighed the bad and when you share one tiny bathroom with five other girls, you learn real quick how to share AND clean.

Share Me! I share a dorm room with a girl who is bipolar. You never know what kind of mood she will be in. She is also a bathroom hog, just today she took two showers and dyed her hair so that I had to wait until after lunch just to get one shower in. Highly annoying!

awkward story – tearing up nasty old carpet in the old house (circa 1870’s) we are currently renovating a little at a time and finding we need to replace the sliding glass doors because they are made of wood and have deteriorated so much that rain has gotten in and damaged the sub-floor.
one word. awesome. it seems to be the theme of this house – attempt to fix one thing and find 3-4 other things that need to be fixed too. ah, the joys of an old house

Oh my. I am not a good sharer-of-hot-water. Not yesterday, not today, not ever. I pity whoever has to hop in the shower after me as there’s likely nothing left. :) So sorry but mommy gets the hot water. Tankless water heater anyone?

When I was little, my sister and I each had a hermit crab as a pet. One day, we decided to give then a day at the “spa.” My sister gave her hermit crab a “manicure” by painting on its shell with markers. While I? I decided to give mine some time in the “hot tub” (aka a cup full of the hottest water our faucet made). Needless to say, when I went to take my hermit crab out of the hot tub, I screamed in horror as his lifeless body fell out of his shell onto the floor.
Ah…kids.

The most recent sharing I can think of is sharing my meals with my 18 month old. There have been a few times where I have given her leftovers, hoping she wouldn’t notice that I was eating something different. Can’t get anything past her :)

My 6 month old soon rode in a shopping cart for the first time today and he smiled from ear to ear. It reminded me of how much joy can come from the small things in life!

Now that I live in a big house, it is amazing to me to think about the tiny rooms they cram you into when you’re a freshman in college… with a perfect stranger at that! Lucky for me, my first roommate was my roommate for all four years!

I can never finish a can of soda and I think it’s from growing up and having to share a single can with my two sisters. Kinda gross, I know, but it was a rare treat and we weren’t going to complain!

Growing up I had to share everything with my 3.5 years younger sister. So sometimes we would often do (I am embarrassed to say!!) is physically write our names on things (like cookies) and then we could answer the obligatory “your name’s not on it” with “yes it is!”
But I do promise to share this great opportunity!!
Thanks for the fun John and Sherry!

SHARE ME. After years of living in my college town with tons of friends around my husband and I just moved to a new city. Now when meeting new people I have somehow become the girl who talks about her pets like they are kids… FYI people with actual kids don’t always appreciate pet stories.

SHARE ME…a memory!
My mom and I always shared clothes and shoes because we were the same height and shoe size.
We’d pass clothes back and forth, remake them, give them back redesigned (we both sewed).
Now that my cute mommy’s gone, all the clothes are mine.
I’d rather be sharing them with her…

I can’t really think of any stories off the top of my head… When we go out to eat my husband is always kind enough to “share” his food with me. Often times I can’t decide between menu items and he will get one of them I want so I can have both:)

I had to take my little sister (then 7) on my very first boy-picks-you-up movie date. And she sat in between us in his tiny 3 passenger truck. And she also sat in between us at the movies. I was an awesome big sister! :)

Share Me! My little sister and I were not so good at sharing. We had our own barbie dolls, our own teddy bears, our own sets of markers/colored pencils, etc. Sucks for my parents! Two of everything please!

Share me- I think my favorite sharing story, while it didn’t happen to me and in fact is a made up story, is the episode of How I Met Your Mother where Lily, Marshel, Ted and Robin all found out that for a while they were all sharing the same toothbrush! Yuck, lol. But LOVE that show!

share me…..my mom used to “share” fabric between the three of us (me, my sister, and herself) and make us matching clothes….
my sister hated it, and i wasn’t too fond of it either. there are pictures to prove.

SHARE ME! I am the queen of the overshare when it comes to celebrities. I pretty much have an out of body experience when I meet any celebrity and start talking. Nonstop. About painfully embarrassing or inappropriate topics. I’ve told Jerry O’Connell I wanted to marry him, shrieked loudly at Adam Duritz of Counting Crows that I loved him (he asked me, no joke, if I could back up away from him) and shouted at Billy Crystal. Doesn’t matter if they’re Brad Pitt or a guy on an infomercial at 2AM. If you’re even slightly a celebrity, I’m going to overshare with you.
