Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

SHARE ME! We’ve been trying, somewhat successfully, to teach our 3 year old to share with his 17 month old sis. He usually does pretty well, but if he really wants something of hers, he takes and then says, “She’s sharing with me.” Not sure we have the concept down yet:)

When my younger brother and I were little, I once thought that I could carry him down the steps. Well, obviously we went tumbling down and I had a busted lip while my brother had a huge knot on his forehead. Well, that was also picture day and my mom still proudly displays our photo with my busted lip and my brother’s bruise. It reminds me that as a mom, I have to be prepared for anything and try to go with the flow!

“SHARE ME!” Having a little dog has made me very good with sharing my space- he has to be right next to me or sitting on top of me ALL THE TIME, but I love it! :)

Share me! I have two younger brothers who like to take my clothes and not give it back, which is fine, until my girlfriend realizes they take the clothes my girlfriend buys me and then she refuses to buy me more clothes.

Right now my favorite act of sharing is taking and seeing Instagram photos. Sounds strange but this micro community has started to challenge the way I interact with the spaces around me. I find myself looking for more of the beauty in everyday life… and absolutely love seeing what others find in thiers!

My mom always wanted more children (it’s just two of us biological kids), so when my sister and I went off to college, my parents began mentoring children at our church and coaching local little league. Now, even though I have to ‘share’ my parents, I couldn’t be prouder… They are touching so many lives!

My little sister and I shared a room for forever….at times we had masking taped our separate sides…other moments we put stickers with our first initials all over each of our things…and finally, we just gave in to sharing most things. :) We came a long way…

Share me! I went on vacation with some family friends as a teen and the young boy of the family “shared” his used bubblegum with me. It happened to land in the crotch area of my swimsuit, and with hurried dressing prompted by a young boy around trying to catch glimpses of me naked…imagine my surprise as I found that my swimsuit seemed to be permanently stuck to my crotch region. And this is why I no longer camp.

I shared the backseat of Madza sedan with my little brother (in a car seat) and a greyhound (big, slobbery, racing dog) on the way to the beach one summer! Talk about close quarters!

Share me! As an educational assistant I work a lot with students and volunteers. One day while a student was being piggy backed by a volunteer the student accidentally bit his tongue. The rest of the day all that student did was point to that volunteer and say “That teacher hurt me”. It was hilariously funny.

SHARE ME! I had to share a condo with my boss at a conference. She skipped the sessions and went to the spa instead. It was a very bad trip for many other reasons – including having to drive 5+ hours each way with a car full of co-workers since the company was too cheap to fly us.

I always had a hard time sharing with my sister (who is a year older than me), but my younger brother (who is 13 years my junior) just popped out of the womb willing to share. We NEVER had to teach him; he’s just naturally generous. I think he challenges the idea that an “only child” has a hard time learning to share. (Even though he’s not an only child, he sort of grew up like one because of the age difference.)

I had to share a room growing up with my twin sister. We had bunk beds and she insisted on having the top bunk as she was 20 minutes older! So sometimes when I was really annoyed with her I would slide the ladder away from her when she had already fallen asleep and act all innocent when she fell out of bed in the morning. I still love her though….

I can’t really think of a sharing story at the moment, so I’ll leave you with a little tongue twister…
Sharing Sherry shared a share of seashells with Sharon,
Sharon shared the share of seashells with Shana,
Shana shared the share of seashells with Sheila,
Sheila shared the share of seashells with no one.
The end :)

I remember when I was in second or third grade, we’d share our snacks and whatever our moms packed for us for lunch.
I asked one of the adults watching us if she’d like some jalapeno chips. I, however, pronouned them JAH-LE-PANO chips since that is what my parents would call them. (Note: We are not of Latino descent).
She asked me, “What kind of chips?” And again, I said JAH-LE-PANO. She paused for a minute and was like, “Oh, jalapeno.” Of course, pronounced correctly. I never understood how the j turned into an h sound until I was in high school Spanish class.

SHARE ME!!! Nearly five years ago, my then-boyfriend Jason and I shared a hotel room (read: one bathroom) on a trip to California. We both got mad food poisoning and spent a whole night taking turns in that one bathroom. It was a serious bonding moment and lead to our getting engaged shortly after. I figured, if he can see me all gross like that and still find me lovable, I better put a ring on it. :-)

SHARE ME!!! I can’t think of a sharing story, but I recently got ONE flocked starburst pillow from Target (like you guys got) and realized that it is PERFECT for salvaging my beige couch. But now Target isn’t selling them anymore, and every time I walk past my couch with the one pillow, I think, aw man, I wish I had two more of those!!! So, maybe I can win this and find some other pillows that will make me feel better. : )

My first job out of lawschool was clerking for a judge, and I had to share a TEENY tiny desk with another clerk all year long. Our computers and papers and books barely fit and we were constantly bumping into each other. Luckily, we grew very close and she recently did a reading at my wedding!

SHARE ME! My whole family has a problem with sharing this time of year…my aunt always makes a particularly delicious coconut-cream pie for Easter. My sister and I always keep an eye on my older cousin, because he usually tries to sneak into the kitchen first to get a huge chunk. When we see him start to slink in there, we know we have to get in fast!

One of my favorite things to do is share desserts with friends or my hubby. When you just can’t decided what to order, it’s the best way to try out a few different treats. Variety truly is the spice of life!

I also don’t share food well. On my first date with my husband, he kept offering me his food and asking for mine, and all I could think was, “Dude, if I’d wanted what you ordered I would have ordered it.” Thankfully he saw past my bizarre inability to share something so simple.

This is a non-sharing story. Last week the hubs and I were out to dinner and I ordered sweet potato fries as one of my sides ( I LOVE fries). As we’re eating, he leans over and grabs some fries from my plate-I was so upset…he knows better than to take fries off my plate. If it’s one thing I don’t do- I DON’T SHARE FRIES!!! ahahaah
