Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

I decided very early in our marriage not to share a blanket with my hubby. He moves around too much while sleep and would wake me up too many times per night. I was one cranky mess in the morning. Now we each use our own blanket and we both sleep better. :)

My husband and I were blessed with the suprise of identical twins. Twins typically learn to share a little earlier than other kids, because they have to. We love seeing how they share everything with each other. Not all the time, no one is perfect, especially not 9 year olds. But when they help each other with home work or share a book or a toy, it’s magic!!

Thinking about sharing brings my thoughts quickly to my boys (4 and 2). Most days are okay, but some days are pretty bad in the sharing department.

I am currently 22 weeks pregnant and am dreading setting up the nursery. Why? Because baby boy is going to share my 2 year old daughter’s room- and that means I have to tear apart her adorable, girly room. I love that they’ll share a room, but I’m so stuck as to what I’m gonna do. This $$ would definitely help motivate me, especially since I really don’t have THAT much time left to get this done!

Share me! I am learning to share my home with people. Funny as it sounds, it was hard for me to have people over because I was always worried that things would get broken (which they have) or that I would have to clean up a big mess ( which I have). But I am learning that I really value people over stuff. Now I gladly share my home, food, stuff with others because at the end of the day… It’s about loving people!

My daughter is an amazing baker! Her specialty is mint brownies. I love mint brownies! When she makes the mint icing, i get to lick the bowl. I do let me other kiddos have a bite, but the bowl is mine. Mommies don’t get very many special things and that is mine :)

SHARE ME!!! This probably isn’t harrowing for most, but I just got bangs for the first time in ten years. And since my last attempt at bangs involved my mother cutting too-short bangs that stuck straight up, today’s haircut was pretty stressful for me!

I remember my 2nd Valentine’s Day with my now-husband. He and his brother planned a “romantic” trip for us to Atlantic City (not romantic for 2 girls who don’t gamble). Not to mention that we shared a hotel room. My sister-in-law and I still get a big laugh thinking about how un-romantic the entire weekend was. Free watered down drinks, lots of meals at buffets… an all around mediocre time! :)

My story is hilarious to many so I hope you appreciate it as much as I do :)
An old boyfriend of mine and I were known among our friends for being cursed on Super Bowl Sundays! Three years in a row something insane and just plain weird would happen to us! Year one, we all went to brunch before the game and in the middle of a small college neighborhood a family with “domesticated” monkeys were riding around on a tractor and as I went to pet one of them, the brother monkey attacked me and took a huge bite on my arm while his sister tugged on my hair.
Year two, my boyfriend called me hysterical because he had accidentally cut off his nipple trying to trim his chest with scissors! We debated going to the ER but decided it wasn’t salvageable.
Year three, not quite as entertaining, we both came down with food poisining which I have never had!
Needless to say, Super Bowl Sundays are a scary time

Share me! As one of 4 kids when we went on vacation it was always a question of who would have to share a bed with me. They said I was like a fish when I sleep, one minute on one side and the next I would flip over and wake them up. Needless to say if there was an extra bed they would gladly NOT share with me.

SHARE ME! My husband and I moved right after we got back from our honeymoon and drove 8 plus hours with a trailer chock full of our things. When we reached the apartment we were exhausted, it was late and our big bed was packed in the back of the trailer, that night my hubby and I shared a twin size bed ;)

My little sister and I are 15 months apart and ever since we were little we’ve always shared a room, even when we didn’t have to. She even used to make me hold her hand until she fell asleep! Now that we’re adults we laugh about the silly things we used to do!

My younger sister and I used to share a jack-and-jill bathroom between our rooms when we were kids. Not only did she try to charge me a toll every time I cut through her room to use the bathroom, but if she and I ran to use the bathroom at the same time there would be a sisterly scuffle for a few minutes before someone lost and had to run to the other bathroom. I think that bathroom probably has some of our best “sister” moments, possibly some of my favorite memories in that house.

My story is not about me, but about my dad. When he was growing up, my grandmother used to bake him something special everyday so he would have a “sweet treat” to come home to after school. In high school, his friends quickly caught on that my grandmother made homemade desserts everyday. Soon enough, my dad started running/biking/driving as fast as he could back home to hide the desserts under his bed so when his friends showed up he wouldn’t have to share. :)

SHARE ME! — ok so i remember a terrible time where i didn’t know how to share: my brother tried to steal my personal size pizza off of my plate so i nearly stabbed him in the stomach with my fork. I was probably 9 years old… so hostile. hahaha. I’m much better at sharing now.

Years ago, I had to share a hotel room with a company member that I had never met before the conference trip. It was awkward to say the least- she seemed annoyed that I was an early riser, and I couldn’t handle her “if it’s yellow, let it mellow” philosophy! I mean, I didn’t even know her!

Until the age of 8 my cousin and I shared a room. We had bunk beds which provided endless hours of entertainment, and when I say endless I mean endless. One of our favorite activities was to pile up all of our blankets, pillows and stuffed animals on one side of the bed and jump from the top bunk into the pile. The best part was we would always try to think of something silly to say while falling.
Ahh, those were the days…

Growing up my little sister and I had to share a bedroom that was so small that there was only 3 feet of floor space between the edge of our bunkbeds and the front of our dresser! It was an adventure for sure! (and oftentimes a nightmare :D)

SHARE ME!! I don’t know why, but people often feel the need to share lots and lots of personal information with me. Give them a drink and a seat next to me, and seemingly nothing is off limits. I have since learned the fine art of changing the subject. :)

I recently bought my 5 year old son a different kind of piggy bank – it has 3 compartments 1)SAVE 2)SPEND 3)SHARE. Since we started “earning” allowance I thought it would be good for him to learn how to manage money as well and loved the idea that this incorporated the responsibility of giving back. As we were looking at it and I was explaining what each compartment was for, he quickly announced – “Sharing, huh – I don’t think I’m going to be doing that one”. So, none too soon to introduce the concept!

Share Me! This actually happened to one of my coworkers, but I work for a non-profit so they usually make us share hotel rooms when we travel for work. So my coworker ended up sharing a room with this other lady who’s worked for our organization for a long time, but in a different state. Anyways, after the first day of meetings, my coworker and this lady get back to their hotel room and the second they walk through the door, the lady says, “Oh man, I’ve been waiting all day to let the girls out!” And she whips off her bra. T.M.I. (She’s a really nice lady, though, lol :)
