Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

SHARE ME! I was always afraid to sleep at our family cabins in Wyoming because my mom had told me a story of a time when a mouse ran across her face when she was in one of the lower bunk beds there. It still gives me the heebie jeebies to this day and I have to mentally prepare myself for remaining calm if I should happen to even see a mouse.

SHARE ME! Being the oldest I’ve always (sometimes involuntarily) shared clothes, make up, rooms, etc. But my most cherished memory of sharing that I can remember is for my first few years of life my mom shared her bed with me.

Share me! I was 22 when I first got a bathroom to myself. Growing up I had to share with my brothers and I remember them always plugging the toilet and walking away and I’d end up having to plunge it!

Share me! So I have a 2 year old, and a 10 month old, and the 2 year old is not very happy that the younger sibling can get his hands on her stuff. We have lots of time-outs right now, and I’m not sure it’s working!

SHARE ME!! On our honeymoon, my husband and I went on a scenic group kayak trip while in Kauai, Hawaii. We had to SHARE a tandem kayak. I had my camera ready to take some great pictures along the way. Things were going well until a mother and her 10-year-old son passed us. All of a sudden, a relaxing kayak ride became a rushed kayak competition as my husband refused to let anyone, especially a mother and her child, pass us. This became our first argument of the trip. We laugh about it now, but next time, I’m getting my own kayak.

To get me to share clothes my sister used to ask me when I was sleeping. I talk in my sleep and apparently was a lot more agreeable to my things being borrowed, than when I was awake.

My sister and I shared a room when I was in 1st and again in 8th grade. So much fighting could have been avoided! Now that we are older and not living in the same space, we get along peachy. :)

SHARE ME! My Junior year and college I shared a room with my best friend, little did we know she is a neat freak and I was a total mess, I moved out half way through the year! But..We are still friends to this day and she is going to be a Bridesmaid in my wedding! Best friends…just can not live together!

Share Me! I once shared a very small house with 8 other people, two of them being my very unwelcoming in-laws, for a week. It was supposed to be a vacation and a postponed honeymoon for my husband and I. The trip went from bad to worse as they complained about me to my husband the entire time and our very small daughter contracted some sort of virus that resulted in a 105 degree fever. Our daughter pulled through and my in-laws and I have since forged a more positive relationship, but that “shared” vacation certainly lives in infamy in our family! :)

SHARE ME! I’ll never forget the time when my brother (5 years older than me) and I shared a car during a summer that he was home from college. I went to pick up one of my friends to go out and she went to get in and like 3 beer cans rolled out from under the seat. I was so embarrassed but glad I found it before I got pulled over or something!

Spent spring break last month in the Dominican Republic doing service at a montessori school through Alternative Breaks. How about sharing one outdoor water hose to shower with everyday and one bathroom with a curtain for a door? Fun stuff! :)

I grew up in a house where my mom did daycare, so I basically had to share everything with 7 or 8 other people’s kids all the time. Maybe that’s why I don’t like to share now???

SHARE ME! I got to share the tiniest bathroom with my best friend in college. The bathroom was between our two bedrooms, and she used to sing loudly in the shower in the morning, knowing I could hear her.

SHARE ME…..we’re teaching my 3 and 1 1/2 year old how to share, but our 3 year old has outsmarted us! If he’s playing with a toy that his sister wants we say “can you please share with Molly?” He’ll hand her the toy and then say “thank you Molly” and quickly take it back from her! He’s just too cute!!

Growing up I had to share a room with my brother who is seven years younger than me. So, when I was fourteen, he was seven! Teen angst is multiplied when you have a seven year old boy cutting up your clothes, drawing on your bedspread, and just generally being up in your business. It was quite challenging.

SHARE ME! I’m from the North, and I live in the South. I teach preschoolers and was never more aware of the fact that I am in southern territory than today. My whole class of three year olds decided they were ‘rebels’, and they were going to whip the ‘Yankees.’ Except, they couldn’t pronouce Yankee and were screaming, “Let’s go get the Ankees! The Ankees!” The rebel yell was alive and well today at school!
