Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

I will share food with anyone. I live to feed others. I don’t have much to give but I can do that. If you enter my house I will immediately try to feed you. I have such a problem that I actually invited a youngman to dinner who was buying tools from my husband off of Craigslist. Something about him made me think of my boys when they are older and just told me that this boy needed a homecooked meal. He asked my husband if I was serious and my husband just laughed and said yes. He stayed for dinner, we had a great conversation and we have never seen him again.
So if ever you are riding down Rt 5 in Varina stop by chances are there is some form of flour, butter and sugar on my counter.

Growing up I shared a room with my older sister. We had our share of fights but I think the worst one we ever had was a fight over the closet. She was a total closet hog. So I got angry (I was probably 11 at the time) and threw all her clothes out our third story window into a big snowstorm!
Ah…good memories ;-)

I’d have to say sharing the bathroom with my husband since we’ve been married has been the hardest adjustment. Coming from a family who had to clean and vacuum the bathroom every morning before school, I am easily annoyed by puddles of water around the sink and towels hung on the towel bar without folding them! (Yikes, I almost feel like a freak for just typing that! Oh well…)

Sharing story, eh? It’s sometimes funny (yet foreboding) to watch our 17 mo. old daughter experience when her cousins want her to share the toy she has. With no siblings in the house, we’ll have to spend more time around them to teach her that she can’t give the death stare when someone wants what she has.

I shared a bathroom with my brother growing up and every morning of HS my intent would be to wake up 1/2 hr earlier,
but I would hit snooze & wait until I heard his alarm go off in the next room, then DASH out of bed and into the RR to shower, locking him out and making him late for school. And every morning he would pound on the door and yell at me for stealing his turn and flush the toilet so that I would get a blast of burning hot water. Ahhh, the joys of sibling-sharing.

Harrowing (only to me) story…After going to the bathroom at work I decided to weigh myself on the scale. As I was getting off the scale I looked back at the mirror and saw that I had a strip of toilet paper hanging out the back of my pants. If I hadn’t decided to weigh myself, I would have walked through the office with that toilet paper tail. I guess I haven’t quite mastered my bathroom skills yet…although I practice every day. Thankfully I weighed myself…maybe the only time I have ever said those words!

SHARE ME! Four teachers from my school traveled to Long Beach for a conference. The district had reserved two rooms for us, but we were three women and one man. So the three of us went to our room and discovered two full-sized beds, not queens. My two colleagues decided that they would share one of the beds because I was the only one who missed her hubby. They decided I would likely be a nighttime cuddler!

I used to share a bedroom with my younger brother when we were both very little. My mom loves to tell the story of the day we were supposed to be napping, when she all of a sudden hears muffle sounds that sound like my brother. It turned out that he decided not to nap, but instead decided to play with my toy kitchen and climb inside the stove, which then tipped over. I wish I could remember it myself and not just through my mom’s story!

Ok you guys both have a sense humor…
I grew up in CT near the beach. The “in” outfit during summer in high school was your a bathing suit bikini top and jean shorts cut off.
I got up on a Sat. put on this outfit. Bright orange & white polka dot bikini top & the cut offs. That afternoon my friend called and asked me to come over for a swim. Sure! I dropped my jeans shorts off, grabbed a towel, flip flops and bolted.
My friend lived on the heavy access corner that everyone used to get to the beach. As I walked from my house people were looking at me, by the time I hit the corner, people were honking and waving from their cars. huh? what was up with everyone!
I walked up to my friends’ back door and saw my reflection in the glass…
I did not have my bathing suit bottom on. Yup! I had just walked the streets in bathing suit top and my underwear!!!

SHARE ME! My husband and I met and started secretly dating in AmeriCorps. We spent a lot of time driving around in a 15-passenger van with our teammates. We would share an ipod with headphone splitters and choose songs to let each other know how we felt, without revealing our relationship to our team! They eventually found out, were super happy, and most of them came to our wedding 3 years later.
