    I once found a hidden pair of Ralph Lauren Purple Label heels in Marshalls marked from the original $370 all the way down to $11.99. My only regret is that I didn’t buy the OTHER pair IN MY SIZE that was stashed there as well!

    Silly but I found a belt that I LOVED and couldn’t pass it up…even after I put it back, walked around the mall to a few other stores and couldn’t stop thinking about it. Went back, picked it up again feeling horrible that I was about to pay almost $100 for a BELT??? Somebody slap me, please!? Decided it was OK b/c I HAD to have it…got to the register and it rang up for…you ready?! It was $25.00!!!!! I about fell over with joy. I actually started dancing around right there at the register. So glad I went back. The belt is still alive and well after almost 4 years and I wear it ALL the time. YAY!

    Best deal I got was found at a consignment shop. A gorgeous Ethan Alan dining room table with 6 chairs and two leaves for $250! It’s perfect!

    I try to only buy on sale, but where I do the best damage for deals is with clothing! Prime example $330.00 boots for $30….$128 vest for $6.80 and they still sell these items full price!

    The hands down, best deal in my home is my bed. I drooled over it for a solid year, but I couldn’t afford it and had accepted the fact that I would never own it. I walked in the store one day and it was 60% off! It was actually still a splurge at the lower price, but worth every cent. It’s been a few years, yet I still pet it and tell it how much I love it! LOL!

    I can’t think what my best deal is, but I love getting deals at TJ Maxx/HomeGoods. I did recently get an expensive silk dress from Banana Republic for about $20.

    Scored a bedroom set from a fancy hotel in DC shutting down for renovations and redecorating. Great price and quite entertaining hauling around dc in a rented truck! :)

    I’m Haute! I picked up a fantastic Tahari tuxedo jacket at TKMaxx (it’s a K, not a J in the UK) for the equivalent of $50, when even on Bluefly it was $450! Yay for saving money.

    Best deal: Mid-century credenza at local thrift shop for $40 that we refinished using your instructions (nursery dresser). It came out great and are using it in our living room for our tv.

    I’M HAUTE…my best “deal” is probably my antique desk that was owned by my great-grandfather, who received it as payment for work he did in the 1920s-1930s.

    I got a fantastic deal on some clearance J.Crew clothes from their factory store. Normally I can only afford one clearance piece at a time, but they were doing an extra 40% off and I ended up with jeans, cords and 2 cardigans for only $70 (less than the non clearance regular store price of just the jeans!)

    We once brought home a dresser that was sitting on the curb in our neighborhood, perfect in every way except that it was a little dirty. We cleaned it up and painted it dark blue. It now lives in our 6 year old son’s room.

    i’m haute!

    aside from my $3,000 child (thanks to nicu and the insurance company) the best deal i ever got was a pair of danish midcentury chairs for 26 bucks. i resold them later, not refinished, for over 250. i think that is hands down, my best deal ever.
