Fab Freebie: Straight From The Art

This week’s giveaway comes from a site that so chock full o’ good stuff that it was a challenge to hone in on the perfect freebie items for this week. We’re talking about Artful Home, a virtual window into over a thousand artists’ studios that gives you access to 12,000+ original art pieces – from wall art and sculpture to furniture and accessories. It’s kinda like Etsy, but contributing artists are all professionals who are selected by a panel of art adjudicators.

So we sifted through the site and fell in love with several pillows and, since we couldn’t settle on just one, we’re letting this week’s lucky winner choose from the four pillows shown below: the nature-inspired linen pillows by Mariah Wren or the graphic, eye-chart pillow by Heather Lins. I know, tough decision, eh?

    My husbad hunts, and when we were dating, he carved in a deers shed horn our names with a heart in the middle. Random, but i love it. :D

    I heart art! My uncle is a great artist and gave me one of his paintings a few years ago. It’s abstract and textured and full of warm colors. It’s my first piece of art on canvas and I love it!

    I HEART ART! My favorite piece of art is the ‘Creation of Adam’ painting hanging in my stairwell. It arrived unbeknownest to us from Canada in the back of a big truck, delivered to my front door, no note, no billing statement…..it is 40″x60″ and we still wonder how/why it is ours!!!!!

    I heart art!

    My favorite piece of art is an oil painting of a wild ocean at night that I inherited from my grandmother. I’d loved it ever since I was a child, and, to this day, I’ve never seen a more truthful depiction of the ocean (and you know there’s a lot to choose from). It’s just stunning!

    Hideous frame, though. :)

    “I heart art”. My favorite piece of art would have to be either the ceramic black & white polar bear that my son made for me in ceramics class in high school, or the Ansel Adams framed print that my parents gave me for my birthday last year.

    My favorite piece of art I have right now would have to be a framed family photo of me, my husband and my two kids. I have a fabulously talented photographer friend who truly makes art.

    my favorite piece (so far) is my sketchbook because i feel happy knowing that i actually drew something! and i put my sketchbook on display, open to one of the pages. My mood changes a lot so I can easily change a page in my sketchbook to fit it :)

    My favorite piece of art, which is showcased on our fridge right now, is a painting my son did in preschool with the colors brown and lime green on a large raindrop shape piece of paper.

    I HEART ART! My favorite piece is a poem my grandmother wrote and illustrated for her mother in 1934, when she was a senior in high school. Being only 24 and having already lost my grandmother and mother, art (and craft ,though I don’t see such a huge distinction between the two, but that topic is for another post) is what keeps my ancestors alive.

    I heart art! My favorite piece of art is a drawing done, collage style, with ripped up pieces, that my college roommate made when she was an art student for an assignment. She drew images from our neighborhood, including our gorgeous Victorian apartment building. She gave it to me as a birthday gift, and 10 years later, whenever I look at it (now matted and framed), it makes me smile and remember my good ol’ college days.
