If you’re a busy mom like me – wait, let me start over. If you’re like me and hate grocery shopping, then this week’s giveaway is totally up your aisle. I’ve learned to enjoy cooking, but the chore of making a list, bleeding money at the grocery store and then coming home to find you’ve forgotten the cardamom still drives us to take-out more than we’d like. So imagine my delight when You’ve Got Supper entered our lives.
YGS was started by two busy moms right here in Richmond (holla) and basically does your weekly recipe planning AND grocery list making for you (double holla). Just sign up for their free weekly email for five easy recipe suggestions. Pick the ones you want to make (or add others from their archive) and YGS automatically generates a complete, printable shopping list for you. Basically, my lifesaver. And this week they’re giving away $100 in groceries to one of our lucky readers who just might need some lifesaving in the kitchen too.
We’ve been using them for a while now, and just last week we made three of their meals that we never tried before: Honey Chicken Kebabs, One-Pot Pork Tenderloin and Crispy Potatoes and Creamy Dreamy Mac and Cheese. Here’s that mac and cheese making Burger wish he were human:
And now for this week’s giveaway deets:
- PRIZE: $100 gift card to the grocery store of your choice courtesy of You’ve Got Supper
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I WANT SUPPER” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us your favorite way to mix things up for dinner. Is it the classic breakfast for dinner? Or maybe a recipe swap with the neighbors. Or, our favorite, going over someone else’s house so they do the cooking.
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 4th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the whole wide world!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I’m addicted to food blogs and whenever something yummy looking comes up, I usually make it within a couple weeks (have to have time for grocery shopping). Toss in a few favorites and we’re pretty much set.

I try to mix it up by having friends over and providing several different appetizers or finger foods. This way we can sample a mix of different things instead of just one main entree.

I’ve been on a coupon-clipping kick lately, which would help me stretch this prize even further! To mix dinner up, we always keep a healthy supply of international sauces and spices for an extra kick of flavor.

I try to plan in advance for the week. I prepare each meal the night before so when we get home it’s minimal cooking. Also I try to stretch meals over a couple of nights! love those leftovers!
I’m trying to incorporate a new recipe once a week.

I am hugely uncreative when it comes to cooking, which usually results in a Hot Pocket for dinner. Awful!

WOW, this time I can actually say: I WANT SUPPER!
Here in Bologna it’s quite cold in this period, so we like to eat roasted chestnuts and drink vin brulé.
During the week I usually pick something from the freezer (mostly soups during winter time), but in the week-ends I use all my creativity, because I LOVE cooking.
And I never eat pasta for dinner.
Thank you for thinking to us, international faithful readers!

I WANT SUPPER – now please :-)
Some of our best dishes have come from this same situation, forgetting to get an ingredient at the store and then essentially revamping the entire recipe. Of course, some of our worst meals have happen that way too!

I WANT SUPPER! :)
I really enjoy cooking and we have our regular meals in rotation but I try to mix it up by trying a new recipe once a week or once every 2 weeks depending on how busy I am. It is a lot of fun and is a good way to get new things in our rotation if we like them enough.
I recently spent a day over the weekend cooking a bunch of meals and freezing them since both me and the hubs have been busier lately and for some reason this made me so excited! It was a time consuming thing but a nice way to spend a fall Sunday and it is great to have healthy options we can just grab out of the freezer.

I WANT SUPPER! I like to go to the Foodnetwork when I need a new recipe, they normally have something new that I will attempt making.

I WANT SUPPER! My favorite way to mix things up is to do a lot of my prep work on Sunday so Monday-Friday only requires a few last minute things. I love coming home & having a weeks worth of food in the fridge all ready to go & can have it in any order & it’s all almost ready.

I WANT SUPPER!
My friends and I love to have recipe swaps every few months. It never fails that we each walk away with a great meal idea that we otherwise wouldn’t have had.

I WANT SUPPER!!!
My husband and I are also on a very strict food budget so I just try to make-up different meals that we can eat without meat since it’s cheaper. One of our favorites is a veggie wrap: black beans, rice, corn, spinach, cheese and maybe some sour cream. DELISH!

I mix up dinner by at least once a week making something that I have never made before.

Now that fall is in full swing, I plan on using my crock pot as much as possible. Tonight is one of my favorites…. pot roast. I add baby carrots, onion, canned potatoes, roast, and then cover with french onion soup mix, beef broth, can of cream of mushroom soup and my secret ingredient (not any more!) steak sauce. Num!

Now that it’s getting colder, I like to mix things up by mixing up some soups in the morning and letting them cook all day in the crockpot. The house smells amazing after a long day of work. And, with Reynolds crock pot liners…NO clean up!

My hubbie hates to eat leftovers the next day, so I often take 1/2 of the meal & freeze it right away. Then a week or two later, we eat it again & I don’t have to cook that night!

I’m actually trying to go the opposite direction from mixing things up. Until now, I’ve been making new recipes, recipes from blogs, etc. Now, I’m in law school and trying to come up with a bi-weekly rotation of meals so that I can save time on meal planning and making a list, because we’ll be able to stock up.

I am part of a cooking club — we meet once a month taking turns hostessing, the hostess plans the menu and assigns everyone a dish. We each make up just one dish but get to enjoy a whole meal with good friends. We’ve got years worth of recipes and lots of good memories.
