Fab Freebie: Tek For Dads

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

According to random.org, the winner this week is… Kat (who celebrated Father’s Day with cards, dinner for her husband and a called to her dad). Congrats!

In honor of Father’s Day (yes, I realize it was yesterday, but why not keep the celebration alive?) we’re giving away – you guessed it – TOOLS. But these particular tools are Ryobi TEK4 tools, a series of ten cordless gadgets that look pretty darn sleek, are crazy durable, and run on a long-lasting 4V rechargeable battery. And come to think of it, ladies would look just as good slinging these guys (so they’re not just for dads). We picked our three most go-to devices from the TEK4 line and are giving them (plus an extra battery and charger) to one lucky guy or gal this week. So without further ado, your trio of tools: the Self-Leveling Plumb / Cross Laser, the Professional Stud Sensor, and the Compact Drill / Driver (and the handy battery they all share).

Ryobi Tek4 Giveaway

  • PRIZE: The three Ryobi TEK4 tools shown above, plus extra battery and charger.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “TEK ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … share with us what you did you celebrate Father’s Day yesterday. A special breakfast? A family dinner? A card from your dog (Burger makes me one every year). Maybe just a phone call to say “hello” to someone special? Or was yesterday just your average Sunday?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 22th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The contiguous 48 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winners. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just like rewarding our lovely readers. See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Ryobi.

TEK ME! My father passed away in December, so it was a bittersweet day of remembrance for me. My 2 teenage sons gave their dad hilarious cards – we always try to pick the best ones that perfectly sound like each boy (they are so different), and we really scored with “keepers” this year!

My dad is in China for business. So I sent him an email and I’ll cook him dinner and help him build a deck when he gets home. New tools would be helpful :D (for the deck, not for dinner…)

Since our baby is only 8 months old, she couldn’t really help this year. I washed and cleaned my husband’s truck- inside and out- for father’s day.

We’re starting the Father’s Day BBQ tradition now. The husband was able to use his new almost-a-dad Father’s Day grill to cook dinner for both our fathers. He received the grill; they received gift cards to Lowes.

    TEK ME!

Our Father’s Day celebration was definitely not typical. My partner’s children live in the UK most of the year, but the eldest is visiting for two weeks to do an internship in Louisville, KY. After spending a few days together in Chicago, we woke up early yesterday morning (6:30 a.m.) to take her down to Louisville. Because we live in the city, we don’t own a car, so we took the subway to the airport to pick up a rental car and Dad was having a hard time accepting there are things beyond his control, like subway maintenance. The process took longer than expected, so we didn’t hit the road until 10:00 a.m. We drove through rainy conditions for more than five hours, finally reaching Louisville at 4:30 p.m. Though he and I still had the five-hour return journey in front of us, we walked his daughter around the city so she could get acclimated, then brought her to Target so she could pick up all the little items she had forgotten at our place. I offered to drive home so he could sleep, but not surprisingly, it was well after midnight by the time we reached the Chicago city limits – and we still had to find a gas station, return the rental car, and take the subway home! We finally walked in the door at 1:30 in the morning, cranky and completely exhausted. Some Father’s Day!

yesterday was spent with… you guessed it, my dad. but not only my dad; mom, katie belle, lonnie, mark, ashley, adrienne, zack, cupcake, molly, hannah, mckinzie, taylor, spencer, sean & myself made up the core guest list. those are my brothers, sisters & a few brother-in-laws thrown in too. both sets of my grandparents came over so basically it was a day saturated with family. we ate lasagna, played corn hole & even did a little after-the-sun-went-down-swimming. great day :)

We had a nice father’s day… since we are expecting our first this November, I gave my husband a cute handmade knit hat for Baby that I bought on Etsy. Then, my parents came over and we had a nice little cookout and enjoyed our NEW front porch (that I must say, I am so excited about and the transformation makes me pretty darn proud!)
Happy (belated) Father’s Day to John!
