Fab Freebie: The Bold & The Beautiful

We’re always on the lookout for new art these days (lots of empty walls!) so we’re excited to bring you this giveaway from Barcelona-based illustrator Judy Kaufmann. Her bold prints – sometimes colorful, sometimes stark – have a charming combo of simplicity and intricacy. Here are a few of our favs below, but you can of course browse more in her Etsy shop.

    I’M BOLD… I’ve let an unknown hairstylist chop off all my hair into a look of her choosing, I’ve traveled internationally (with and without companions), I’ve moved across the country on my own (and then drove back on my own when it didn’t work out), and I’m preparing to be inside with two young kids for who-knows-how-long once this blizzard hits!

    I caught a baby alligator with my bare hands, at night, with a bunch of stupid college kids, with mama gator near by. What was I thinking?

    Boldest moments: skydiving with my husband to celebrate his 30th bday and trekking to Everest Base Camp in Nepal as a “last hoorah” before starting a family.

    Not so much these days but once upon a time I was :) I packed my bags and headed off on vacation with no destination in mind. I’ve gone sky diving, etc.

    Been skydiving, chopped off all my hair, & quit my job to go back to school for nursing! Had to rearrange our lives (husband, me & 4 yr old daughter) to do so, but I graduate in a year and couldn’t be more excited.

    I moved from Memphis, TN to Kiev, Ukraine when I was 19 – all alone – to teach conversational English and do volunteer work in orphanages. At 28 y.o. now I look back and think “That’s crazy bold!”

    When I had only been dating my (now) husband for about 6 weeks, I gave him a ring and a speech about how committed I was to him. We were in college, so he probably should have run away from the crazy lady (me) as fast as he could, but he stuck around until he fell in love with me! Ha!

    I guess the boldest thing I have ever done was cut off my long, curly hair after I graduated high school. I was going for a Halle Berry look and people thought I was crazy for cutting it all off.

    I’M Bold!!!

    Something brave I have done is actually pursuing my fiance! I was always very very shy and would never ever make the first move. However, for some reason something came over me and I thought got for it!!! Now three years later he proposed and we just purchased our first home! I could not be more happy that I overcame my fears!

    By the way we love your blog and are looking forwarding to using all your tips and ideas in our own house! :)

    The boldest move I ever made was taking a job 6 hours away from my family and friends to live in a City where I didn’t know anybody. Been here 3+ years so its paid off!!

    I’m Bold!

    WHile visiting Russia as an exchange student in the 1990’s, I participated in an outdoor picnic (in March, in about 2 feet of snow). The summer house where the picnic was held did not have plumbing, so I just used my natural environment when I had to go to the bathroom.

    That was pretty bold for this “raised in the South, middle-class white girl” :)

    i’m bold…i just resigned my high paying engineering job to stay home with my one month old little man. i think i will be paid more than i can imagine in giggles, smiles, and lovely dirty diapers.

    I’m Bold! Boldest thing I’ve ever done is quit my Phd program because I did like it! I had felt tied to it and ashamed to quit for years, but then I got over that and quit! Feels delightful.

    I’M BOLD – I backpacked around eurpoe for 6 weeks when I was 22 with just myself and one of my best friends, Laure. Now that was a scary/fun thing to do and I am so thankful we did it!

    I’ve moved on a whim more times that I probably should have. Moved to the UK almost 10 years ago and moved from the South to the North for LURVE 2 years ago. Best decisions are from the gut, you know when it’s right :)

    During collage, I decided to go study abroad for some time. Therefore, i moved to a foreign country, where i knew nobody! i lived there for approximately one year and it was one of the best and interesting experiences in my life!
