*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***
We’ve got two names to announce as the random winners this week and they are… Eileen Marie (who lives on the edge by teaching on the “mean streets of Chicago”) and Kristin M (who is the mom to a “crazy 2 year old” – which is a life on the edge that we can relate to). Congrats ladies! And for everyone else, Cutting Edge Stencils added a 20% discount code – YHL20 – that’s good through Sunday. Sweet!
Who wants to jump on the wall stencil bandwagon with us (remember when Sherry spent 14 hours stenciling our office last October? Well how does a $50 nudge sound? Because the folks at Cutting Edge Stencils are gonna give two of you a gift card that’ll cover just about any stencil in their catalog – from florals and geometrics to damasks and graphic shapes. They’ve even got a new collection of stencils created by Design Star winner Kim Myles (we especially love her gingko leaf design on the right). And is the one on the top left giving anyone else Jeff Lewis vibes?
- PRIZE: $50 to Cutting Edge Stencils
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EDGE ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … how you live life on the edge. I ask this somewhat sarcastically since life on the edge for us usually includes eating a second dessert or negotiating a good yard sale deal. But if you’ve really done (or regularly do) something thrilling or outrageous, we’d love to hear about it.
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 6th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- DISCOUNT: 20% off with code YHL20 through 6/17
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Cutting Edge Stencils.

EDGE ME! The closest I come to living on the edge is operating power tools without caffeine.
Amanda says
Edge me! I’m playing it safer these days after 25 years of traveling and living around the world, calling everything from a boat to a tent, from a conex box to a travel trailer “home.”
Denise says
EDGE ME!
Plan to go skydiving on my 30th birthday in November (and keep telling people that in hopes it’ll hold me to actually doing it!)
Kim says
Edge me!!! I’m quite the wild and crazy gal….yeah, not so much. I’m with you on the yard sale negotiations :)

EDGE ME…the riskiest thing I have done recently is sneaking downstairs quietly in the morning so I can drink my coffee without any kids waking up!
Jennifer says
EDGE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please for my husbands shop/store!
Jenni says
Edge me! I think I am pretty non edgy other than raising 5 kids. Want to try my hand at stenciling the dining room though.
Cara Schmitt says
Edge me!
I live pretty safe these days.
One day(when my little one isn’t so little) I will jump out of an airplane or climb a mountain or take trapeze lessons or do something equally thrilling I swear!
Jen says
Edge me!! While I haven’t been living close to the edge lately, I have enjoyed skydiving and crazy white water rafting (while 5 months pregnant and with the blessing of my OB). We are headed up in a hot air balloon in a couple of weeks. Not sure that’s very on the edge though…
Tiffany A. says
EDGE ME… Life on the edge is me being 6 months pregnant in Texas during the summer and working as a full time nanny for a 3 1/2 year old and 14 week old. Going to the grocery store is living on the edge for us :)
Renee says

Emily says

Wendy says
EDGE ME!!!! When I was about six, I had a mini-bike (motorcycle). I crashed it into my parents’ camper. That’s as edgy as I’ve goten.

Living life on the edge? I’d say it was when my husband and I decided to demo our old house’s garage by hand and reused all of the materials, including the concrete, to relandscape the backyard. The result was a spiffy new backyard with an impressive $10,000 savings (estimated from professional demo costs and landscaping companies). The project took two years from start to finish but holy moly did we ever feel like GODS after we were done! :-)

EDGE ME!
I play roller derby. I broke my ankle last year, recovered and I’m back for more.
Nancy says
EDGE ME, please! I’m in desperate need to be edgy. ;-)

Edge Me!
Haha, trying to return things without a receipt (that I’ve inevitably lost) is about as edgy as I get.
Have been planning on stenciling a wall in our bedroom ever since I saw Sherry’s amazing work in the office. This would be amazing!
Rebekah says
EDGE ME! I’m not much of a risk taker; living on the edge to me is learning how to use a sewing machine or new power tool!
Alysa says
Edge me! Our latest edgy adventure included taking a staycation with our 14-month-old at a friend’s 985 sq. ft. open loft apartment. What seemed like a fantastically urban adventure suddenly became us forcing ourselves to sleep each night at 7:30pm because anything we did would wake up the baby sleeping on the other side of the wall. Crazy us.
Katie says
Edge me!
Sadly, there’s no living on the edge these days as I’m 5 months pregnant (not that I’m a huge risk taker when not pregnant!). A stenciled wall would be perfect for baby’s room!
Marissa says
EDGE ME! I lived life on the edge by getting a new tattoo this weekend! Not insanely outrageous for me, but better than the usual ho-hum of my weekends!
Laura says
EDGE ME!
I don’t live on the edge at all. Unless biting off more volunteer positions than I can chew justifies!
Margaret says
Edge me! I held a nursing shark when I was in Cancun. A local man and his son told us after my sister and I inquired about holding the nursing shark (it was one of those things everyone said to do)to jump in the water where the shark was and the kid went to wrangle it in. I held it, I was scared and looking back I don’t know if I’d do it again. I was 18 at the time so there ya go, lol!
Megan says
EDGE ME!
I LOVE snow skiing… I know it’s not really living on the edge, but it can be dangerous!
Ashley says
Edge Me! I don’t think my life is too thrilling… I was excited to stay up past midnight over the weekend :-)
Kitty Schaub says
EDGE ME!
We just bought our first house – that’s as edgy as it gets over here!
Jen says
Edge me! I live life on the edge when I drink two espresso’s on weekend mornings. Thrilling, I tell ya.
Karissa says
EDGE ME! I guess the most “on the edge” I have been revolves around getting/having several tattoos. Even that is not very edgy anymore, I admit.
Denise says
EDGE ME!!!!! I need a show stopper in my entry way and these stencils will seal the deal.
Lauren says
Edge me!
I am so not edgy, but marrying my husband who is in the Army and moving all over the country has definitely been an experience, since I never planned to leave Texas :)
Lauren says
EDGE ME! I like to take risks with color in my home, like painting my bedroom magenta (one day that might not work, but for a single gal it’s just perfect!).

EDGE ME!
Getting engaged in March. Getting married in July. Moving halfway across the world to Edinburgh, Scotland in August with four suitcases to our name!
