*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***
We’ve got two names to announce as the random winners this week and they are… Eileen Marie (who lives on the edge by teaching on the “mean streets of Chicago”) and Kristin M (who is the mom to a “crazy 2 year old” – which is a life on the edge that we can relate to). Congrats ladies! And for everyone else, Cutting Edge Stencils added a 20% discount code – YHL20 – that’s good through Sunday. Sweet!
Who wants to jump on the wall stencil bandwagon with us (remember when Sherry spent 14 hours stenciling our office last October? Well how does a $50 nudge sound? Because the folks at Cutting Edge Stencils are gonna give two of you a gift card that’ll cover just about any stencil in their catalog – from florals and geometrics to damasks and graphic shapes. They’ve even got a new collection of stencils created by Design Star winner Kim Myles (we especially love her gingko leaf design on the right). And is the one on the top left giving anyone else Jeff Lewis vibes?
- PRIZE: $50 to Cutting Edge Stencils
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EDGE ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … how you live life on the edge. I ask this somewhat sarcastically since life on the edge for us usually includes eating a second dessert or negotiating a good yard sale deal. But if you’ve really done (or regularly do) something thrilling or outrageous, we’d love to hear about it.
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 6th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- DISCOUNT: 20% off with code YHL20 through 6/17
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Cutting Edge Stencils.

Not much for living on the edge, but I’m a horse trainer in my spare time and I have done some colt breaking, which can have its moments…

EDGE ME! Living on the edge for me has been being a dedicated spelunker for a few years, learning to scuba dive when I didn’t know how to swim, and being a female solo camper and traveler.

EDGE ME! I haven’t lived on the Edge a lot, but I have traveled alone in Europe before (not totally unusual, but still fun!:)

EDGE ME! Living on the edge for me is going to bed past midnight and up every morning (M-F anyway) at 6 am to get the kids to school/daycare and myself to work. Don’t be jealous!

The other night I had ice cream for dinner. I know. I’m crazy. Just call me a daredevil.

Edge me! I live my life on the edge by waiting until the last possible day to wash my bras. Then it is a gamble to see if they will be dry in time for wearing it the next day.

Few things are as “edgy” as trying to quietly keep your child from spiraling into a full-tilt freak out at the store after a mom-block of the Cheez-itz display.
Jessi says
I live on the edge by traveling back and forth from CA to MN to see my adorable boyfriend. Long distance is hard but trying to stay sane and organized with the constant travels is enough “edge” for this gal :-)
Amy says
EDGE ME! Living on the edge for us right now would be keeping our 3 year old out past bedtime… we may have a blast, or it could be a total disaster. We’re wild.
Jessica says
Edge me!
Well…stencils on my walls would certainly be an edgy move for me.
:)
Sara says
Edge me. I hope I win! I’ve been eyeing two stencils from this shop.
Live on the edge for me is picking up furniture off the curb and working my magic on it.

I am living on the edge and buying my first house in ( hopefully!) 48 hours! Also, have gone rapelling off a (l)edge, rock climbed, jumped off a cliff ( into water) and ( surprise) use too many parentheses in a run on sentence ;)
Liz says
EDGE ME please!
Ashley says
EDGE ME! I’m not too crazy, but my husband thinks i was pretty brave for tearing out the old tile floor in the bathroom and replacing it with marble while he was away on business- all by myself! :)
Megan says
EDGE ME! Does wanting to sky dive counting as edgy??
Mary B says
EDGE ME! Hmmm… does painting & striping one wall of my 4 yr. old’s room while my husband and older kids are out of town (leaving said 4 yr. old at home with me)count? Keeping him entertained for the weekend, yet getting it all done was definitely challenging!

Edge me! Every once in a while my husband and I go shooting. It’s quite amazing to say I’ve shot a 50 calibur Browning Machine gun. The thing can shoot about 2 miles! …that and I just painted my dining room chairs in a rainbow of colors… :)

EDGE ME!
This year I went skiing in some serious mountains with zero experience. I felt like I was on the edge of falling down the entire time- and did a lot. Not sure if that qualifies as living on the edge or simply getting in over my head:)
KiTx says
EDGE ME!
I live on the edge by never quite having enough sleep and always having a little too much caffeine in my system. Not the best edge since it isn’t healthy, but hey, it’s an edge!

Edge Me! I live vicariously through my three year old son :)

I think we’re quite similar in how we like to live life on the edge, but I think my husband has gotten me to expand my horizons a bit more than I might have otherwise thought… Mobile scavenger hunt from New York to New Orleans in a car that can’t have cost more than $500 to purchase? Done it! That’s about as “on the edge” as I get these days… aside from maybe drinking a small *(and I mean teeny) cup of coffee (I’m 4.5 months pregnant!)
Krysta says
“EDGE ME!” …like several other commenters, my life may seem mellow, but I felt on the edge purchasing a house by myself a few years ago. And now I get a rush (and feel like wonder woman) when I learn how to fix something new… most recently my garge door opener!!

Edge me!
Once, in my last year of college, I needed a distraction/pick me up from finals and threw a huge singles party via CL. After posting about the party, I methodically sifted through hundreds of submissions, picked out the best 25 women and 25 men, bought cheap wine, crackers, cheese, and chocolate from Costco, and had one of the most amazing parties I’ve hosted. The first guests arrived at 8p, and the last guests lefts at 4a. Quite a few people paired up, including me!
Missy says
Edge me! I’m taking my one year old on a week vacation which is pretty terrifying at this point given that he’s never spent a night outside of his own crib. YIKES!

I live life on the edge by occasionally leaving the house without the diaper bag or a sippy cup!
Mandi says
Edge me! Up until very recently, I would say I’d be living on the edge by pushing the limits with running errands with a 4 month old. However, I have started running races and already finished the Muddy Buddy, am signed up for Color Me Rad in July, and by November ’13, I’ll be running a half marathon.

I’m totally thinking about stenciling our entryway so this would be PERFECT! I’m loving the retro-ish square stencils.
I love your blog, but this is the first time I’ve commented. My husband and I are big DIYers, but non-bloggers. Keep up the great work!
BeccaK1 says
Edge me! Life on the edge usually consists of meeting all deadlines/obligations at the very last minute – but heck, they’re getting done, so no complaints here!

Edge Me! Living on the edge for me is planning to paint my very small bathroom black & stencil it with a contrasting color AND not telling my husband I’m going to do it, because he’ll try to stop me…Surprise hunny!

Kirsten Smith says
Edge me please! I really want to jump out of a plane someday (attached to a parachute and someone who knows how to handle it of course!), but that’s as wild and crazy as I get :)
Brandy says
Edge me! I stenciled a wall by myself nine months pregnant (four days before giving birth to my son) – I didn’t even tell my husband I was doing it until he came upstairs and I was reaching up to the edge on top of a stepladder. Maybe not the smartest thing in retrospect but in my mind it HAD to be done (my nesting consisted of how many DIY projects we could fit in before baby).
Amy Dixon says
EDGE ME! I love to travel to exotic (often 3rd world) countries and experience the culture by trying crazy foods that you would rarely find on a menu in the US (chocolate covered grasshoppers, sea urchin, etc)!
