*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***
We’ve got two names to announce as the random winners this week and they are… Eileen Marie (who lives on the edge by teaching on the “mean streets of Chicago”) and Kristin M (who is the mom to a “crazy 2 year old” – which is a life on the edge that we can relate to). Congrats ladies! And for everyone else, Cutting Edge Stencils added a 20% discount code – YHL20 – that’s good through Sunday. Sweet!
Who wants to jump on the wall stencil bandwagon with us (remember when Sherry spent 14 hours stenciling our office last October? Well how does a $50 nudge sound? Because the folks at Cutting Edge Stencils are gonna give two of you a gift card that’ll cover just about any stencil in their catalog – from florals and geometrics to damasks and graphic shapes. They’ve even got a new collection of stencils created by Design Star winner Kim Myles (we especially love her gingko leaf design on the right). And is the one on the top left giving anyone else Jeff Lewis vibes?
- PRIZE: $50 to Cutting Edge Stencils
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EDGE ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … how you live life on the edge. I ask this somewhat sarcastically since life on the edge for us usually includes eating a second dessert or negotiating a good yard sale deal. But if you’ve really done (or regularly do) something thrilling or outrageous, we’d love to hear about it.
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 6th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- DISCOUNT: 20% off with code YHL20 through 6/17
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Cutting Edge Stencils.

Christy B says

Emily says
EDGE ME!
I’d have to say I don’t really live life on the edge. Going someplace new would be about it for me :-)
Rebecca says
EDGE ME!
I haven’t really done much on the edge (white water rafting at best) but I really want to go sky diving. Had scheduled 3 times but the weather last Fall kept cancelling it. A sign…? NOPE!
Morgan J. says
Edge me! Done a few edgy things like white water rafting and scuba diving but it’s been a while!
Paige says
EDGE ME!
The “edgiest” thing I’ve done (along with my husband) was deciding last Spring to quit our jobs and move to DC to find the jobs of our dreams! I left a stable teaching job in favor of a job in graphic design/communications (actually using my degree!), and he left a job in advertising sales to work for a tech start-up. SO happy we did, and these stencils would be perfect for making our new townhouse our own!
Claire says
EDGE ME! I went sky-diving once! :)
Kelly says
Edge Me!
Bethany says
Edge Me! My husband and mine’s idea of living life on the edge is staying up past 9:00!! haha (having a 10-month old is tiring!!)
Paige says
Edge me! I live life on the edge by gardening without gloves. Eek!
Melissa says
Edge Me! I am not a risk taker, at all. But in college while I was studying in Rome, I actually scaled the fence surrounding the Colosseum in the middle of the night with some friends, and we ran around the place in the dark. It was terrifying. There might have been vino involved.
Lou Anne says
EDGE ME!
Like you, I’m not incredibly edgy. I’m a rule follower 99% of the time. However, occasionally, I wear “canvas” shoes (Rocketdogs to be specific) on casual Fridays when they’re technically against office policy. To quote one of my favorite TV characters, Sheldon Cooper, “What’s life without whimsy?” ;)
Melissa Irvin says
EDGE ME!
Life on the edge for me is going to the shooting range every Friday night for ladies night. I get range time for free. :)

EDGE ME! The wildest thing I do is go outside occasionally without sunscreen. But I live in Seattle, so this is not so risky as it might otherwise sound.
Amy says
Edge me! I live life on the edge by rock climbing and this summer I’m getting scuba certified! :-)
Lili says
EDGE ME!
Hmm, I don’t really live on the edge, but sometimes, I’ll make a decision quickly before planning or putting too much thought into the situation/project/etc…luckily, hardly ever have I made a bad decision = )

Sometimes I get expensive coffee on the way to work instead of drinking the free stuff there. I know. Reckless.
Christine says
Edge Me!
For me, living on the edge means going out for cocktails on a week night! How lame.
Sarah J. says
Edge me!
I drive my long Midwestern commute no matter what the weather!
Katie B. says
EDGE ME!
My finace and I ran a half-marathon in March, which is probably the first edgy thing I’ve done since I started law school and became stodgy. Since then, we have started building furniture, inspired by you guys, and are working on a built-in style desk for our office with plywood and cabinets, similar to yours. The experience of trial-and-error and sourcing interesting things on Craigslist has felt pretty “edgy” to us.
Sugar Cookie says
Edge me! I really can’t think of anything I’ve done that’s “on the edge,” but my husband has gone sky diving and bungee jumping!
Rachel says
EDGE ME!
I went bungee jumping 3 different times during the summer I spent studying abroad!
Catherine Domanska says
EDGE ME!
Biking through Philly is pretty edgy during rush hour!

Jennifer T says
EDGE ME! Daily life for me is pretty tame, but I love going scuba diving!

Living on the edge would be doing projects without instructions or “googling” them first!
Felicity says
EDGE ME!
Amelia Walton says
Edge me! Ok, so I’m definitely a daredevil if it has to do with heights or rides (don’t get me near anything underground) but right now, we’re living on the edge by closing on a house, traveling for work, house sitting for my parents and keeping a 2-year-old blissfully content…all in the same week. That definitely counts as being kind of crazy, doesn’t it?
Jessica M says
Edge me! I don’t really live on the edge, but I am leaving on a month long road trip with a 3 year old and 11 month old – is that risky enough, haha?
Lynn Soon says
EDGE ME!

Tara says
EDGE ME! I…uh…speed on the freeways. I’m talking like 5 miles over. I know, I know…my middle name is pretty much danger.
Tami says

Lara says

Courtney says
Edge Me!
My life has been pretty tame lately, but we are in the process of planning a 3-month backpacking trip to Asia next year. That plan keeps our every-day-boring life more interesting when we save a few bucks and think “that’s an extra night’s stay at a hostel in Thailand!”
Sarah MC says
EDGE ME!
I play roller derby– the best sport ever!
andria says
EDGE ME! I’m an accountant, which naturally makes me hate risk!!
Nicole @ Post Grad says
EDGE ME! Planning a 2nd skydiving trip soon. I went once back in college and definitely got a taste for the adrenaline lover’s life. Rare occurrences for sure though. I’m not a big risk taker in general.
Natalie says
EDGE ME!
Um, my idea of living on the edge is going to school full-time while being a stay at home mom to two toddlers and the wife to an Army soldier who also works and goes to school full-time. In other words, my life is pretty under-whelming right now. lol
