*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***
We’ve got two names to announce as the random winners this week and they are… Eileen Marie (who lives on the edge by teaching on the “mean streets of Chicago”) and Kristin M (who is the mom to a “crazy 2 year old” – which is a life on the edge that we can relate to). Congrats ladies! And for everyone else, Cutting Edge Stencils added a 20% discount code – YHL20 – that’s good through Sunday. Sweet!
Who wants to jump on the wall stencil bandwagon with us (remember when Sherry spent 14 hours stenciling our office last October? Well how does a $50 nudge sound? Because the folks at Cutting Edge Stencils are gonna give two of you a gift card that’ll cover just about any stencil in their catalog – from florals and geometrics to damasks and graphic shapes. They’ve even got a new collection of stencils created by Design Star winner Kim Myles (we especially love her gingko leaf design on the right). And is the one on the top left giving anyone else Jeff Lewis vibes?
- PRIZE: $50 to Cutting Edge Stencils
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EDGE ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … how you live life on the edge. I ask this somewhat sarcastically since life on the edge for us usually includes eating a second dessert or negotiating a good yard sale deal. But if you’ve really done (or regularly do) something thrilling or outrageous, we’d love to hear about it.
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 6th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- DISCOUNT: 20% off with code YHL20 through 6/17
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Cutting Edge Stencils.

EDGE ME! I’m a very unadventurous, “let’s stay on the safe side” person… However, while on our honeymoon in Mexico, my husband and I decided to be crazy and go snorkeling in underwater caves! It was completely dark, except for the flashlights on our goggles, and at one point we looked up and saw hundreds of bats perched on the cave ceiling!! I still can’t believe we did that… I’d say that’s the wildest thing we’ve ever done. :)

Edge Me! I am kind of like you guys! Nothing too edgy happening around here. My 13 year old asked if she could skip wearing her braces elastics to the movies the other night. . . . we joked that she was being wild and crazy “living on the edge, baby!”

I few years ago I moved out of my apartment and bought a one-way ticket to Guatemala! It was a scary (I guess you could say “on the edge” moment), but after living in central america for a couple years, I met my now husband and we moved back to the states- and we’re starting to decorate our place!

I’m NOT an edgy person (don’t even like jumping into the pool), but when I’m on skis it’s nothing but double black diamonds for me.
P.S. Just last night I painted the first coat of paint on my dining room walls with the intent to eventually stencil them.

The only time I’m on the edge is sometimes on the weekends my hubby and I will sit the kids down for lunch at their table (ages 4 and 2) and disappear together for a short bit.. that’s edgy right? You never know when they are going to come knocking on the door.. that’s the closest to the edge we get.

EDGE ME! I have friends who regularly partake in Food Challenges. The rule is that the Food Challenger must also eat whatever he/she offers to the Food Challengee. Last night, it was haggis on chocolate covered cookies (English McVities Digestives, to be exact. We were at a Diamond Jubilee party, hence the British foods.). Not as awful as you’d think, but not something I ever really want to eat again.

Okay, seriously? The most on the edge thing that I do is something like using the 1960 griddle I have because it’s the best griddle EVER and I can’t bear to part with it. (It’s identical to the one I grew up using.)
Well making a pallet bench a couple of weeks ago and painting it bright turquoise was pretty on the edge, at least according to my husband who is still shocked when he sees the bright turquoise bench in front of the boys’ windows!
