*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***
We’ve got two names to announce as the random winners this week and they are… Eileen Marie (who lives on the edge by teaching on the “mean streets of Chicago”) and Kristin M (who is the mom to a “crazy 2 year old” – which is a life on the edge that we can relate to). Congrats ladies! And for everyone else, Cutting Edge Stencils added a 20% discount code – YHL20 – that’s good through Sunday. Sweet!
Who wants to jump on the wall stencil bandwagon with us (remember when Sherry spent 14 hours stenciling our office last October? Well how does a $50 nudge sound? Because the folks at Cutting Edge Stencils are gonna give two of you a gift card that’ll cover just about any stencil in their catalog – from florals and geometrics to damasks and graphic shapes. They’ve even got a new collection of stencils created by Design Star winner Kim Myles (we especially love her gingko leaf design on the right). And is the one on the top left giving anyone else Jeff Lewis vibes?
- PRIZE: $50 to Cutting Edge Stencils
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EDGE ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … how you live life on the edge. I ask this somewhat sarcastically since life on the edge for us usually includes eating a second dessert or negotiating a good yard sale deal. But if you’ve really done (or regularly do) something thrilling or outrageous, we’d love to hear about it.
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 6th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- DISCOUNT: 20% off with code YHL20 through 6/17
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Cutting Edge Stencils.

Edge me, please! I took a 3400 mile trip with 2 dogs, a cat, a bearded dragon, and a 3 year old last summer to see my family for a few days while my husband was deployed! I think that was all of the excitement I could stand for a while! :)

Laura McQ says
Edge me!! Life around here is pretty tame but we are known for having dessert for dinner. I like to think if you put enough strawberries on anything it makes it healthy!

I’ve gone wandering through the African jungle with a guide that didn’t speak English in order to try to find my adopted brother’s birth family in their village… Which we did! I’d say that was pretty edgy!

EDGE ME! We’re trying to start a small sustainable farm and be responsible producers of eggs, lamb, and wool. On a whim… when the house we fell in love with came with 9 acres and a heck of a tax break for “farming”.
The house could sure use some lovin!
Cindy says
Edge me! I’ve gone on some massive roller coasters with my kids and I feel like I’m going to die on some of them – I think that is living on the edge for me!
Amanda says
EDGE ME!
My idea of living on the edge is pretty mild. The most adventurous thing I’ve done in a while is to ride the cable car/tram thingy over the river in downtown Spokane, WA. Moving water and heights both scare me but the view made it worthwhile!
Jen says
EDGE ME! … even though I am so not a thrill-seeker.

Edge Me! Living on the edge just by getting in my car and driving to work!

i went skydiving when I was 29, but these days I live on the edge by chasing a 2.5-year-old around.
Melissa B. says
EDGE ME! Edgy… hmm. I’ve been skydiving before, and would love to do it again and again! It didn’t seem all that edgy at the time, my jump partner did all the work and I was just attached to him. I went night swimming during shark feeding time in the Gulf of Mexico just to see the phosphorescent plankton light up. It was amazing… and really stupid… and I’d been drinking. But amazing! SO, about those stencils…
Eva says
Edge me! My two teenage girls keep me living on the edge of insanity. God made babies cute so we’d fall in love with them and teenagers unbearable so we wouldn’t miss them when they’re gone. Thanks, God!

I don’t live on the edge. I love my control a little too much. :)
Sarah C says
Edge me!
I’d have to say the most “on the edge” thing I’ve done recently was hike three miles up a mountain with my 18 month old! We were on vacation to Colorado last week, and there were places where we were literally “on the edge” of the mountain…. I don’t know if my husband and I were brave or crazy!

Oh, I’m a total wimp…but I do have a toddler and a new baby on the way…so I can’t be THAT wimpy…can I ??
KG says
EDGE ME! My hubby and I have decided to get rid of accent colors in our gray/white/black bedroom, and just let the concert posters, art and relationship mementos shine on their own. It kinda looks rockstar and edgy (to me)!
Premal says
edge me! i spend all day defending people in court that are charged with crimes – people that have nothing, grew up with nothing, and that our society forgets and marginalizes on a regular basis. i balance the stress and sadness of the job with daydreaming about decorating the (first) new house my husband and i just bought! hoping to stencil our dining room and have lots of wine-filled dinner parties in it.
Pam Fisher says
“Edge Me!” Recently my 12 year old daughter and I ( I am 55) signed up and completed a mini marathon, running all 13.1 miles (well, we did walk 1/2 mile between miles 8 and 9).

Adrienne says
EDGE ME! My husband and I try to do 1 major hike during each vacation we take. First we climbed Half Dome in Yosemite, then we tackled the Grand Canyon, and next we completed the Awa’awapuhi and Nu’alolo Loop in Kauai. We’ve come pretty close to some edges!

Kim says
EDGE ME! Living on the edge for me has involved moving overseas and learning a new language in my 50s :) I’m still a work in progress and far from being fluent, but “poco a poco” I’m adapting to both the language and the culture.
We’re in the process of building our own house and would LOVE to stencil in one of the rooms!!!
P.S. If I win, I’d have it sent to my daughter who lives in Indiana and she can send it on to me. Hope that’s okay!
Kellie says
Edge me! The closest I get to living on the edge is choosing a bold paint color…I am boring!
