Fab Freebie: The Target Lady

I love today. Not just because it’s my 29th birthday, but because we are giving away a gift card to (drumroll, por favor)… TARGET!

We don’t really need to waste time reminding you guys how much we love Target (we’ve got about a million posts like this and this to prove it). I even created this graphic to try to convey how excited we are:

And while I always love a good opportunity to reference SNL’s Target Lady, this time I’m going to mention a different woman paired up with the red bullseye: HGTV’s Sabrina Soto. Sabrina is Target’s “Style Expert for Home,” which means she’s serving up design tips to to those of us who like affordable Tar-jay wares and coming home to a stylish space. She’s even got a bunch of tip-filled videos over on Target’s styleboutique blog.

    Wow…absolutely impossible to pick just one thing…so I’ll say that from YESTERDAY’s Target trip, my favorite thing was the York Peppermint Patty pretzel sandwiches. Um…DELISH.

    I’M A TARGET LADY!!!

    My favorite Target item is a pair of spice racks. I had been looking for spice racks (WITHOUT the spices – I already had all those lol) and apparently they’re impossible to find. I was running errands with a friend, we stopped in Target, and lo and behold there was a whole bunch of spice racks waiting for me – for $5 a piece! I was so stoked that I danced all around the store. I’ve had them for about 5 years now and will probably never part with them :)

    One of my favorite things I got from Target is a milk glass soap dispenser for my kitchen. It’s has a retro feel, like an old seltzer bottle. Love it!

    I’m a Target Lady! My favorite Target items: 2 tall double-walled plastic cups for the Mr. and me. We live in Houston (where you gotta have gils to breathe) and I couldn’t find cups anywhere that wouldn’t condense into a hot mess until I beheld the summer pool section at Target. Be still. Mi corazon.

    I’M A TARGET LADY!

    I’ve gotten so many great finds at Target, I’d be hard pressed to name one favorite. Maaaaaaaaaaaybe my Rachael Ashwell British Rose quilt…even though I’ve changed out my bedding over the six years since I bought this quilt, I still love it and keep it handy for extra layering in the winter (overall bedroom colors have remained blue-centric).

    What don’t I love that I have gotten there? Fabulous clothes and accessories on clearance (never pay more than $10) that I routinely am complimented on, furniture for my home mistaken for Pottery Barn pieces, the perfect shower curtain for our remodeled bathroom… the list goes on and on…

    I’M A TARGET LADY

    Long, long ago, I found a faux leather ottoman on sale for $10 at Target. It had a small rip in the corner, but I thought I could still use it for something. I slapped a piece of electrical tape over the rip (because the tape was black and the ottoman was black), pushed the ottoman against the wall so no one could see my awful “fix” solution and to this day it’s maybe the most useful piece of furniture at home. Every day it’s used to store folded blankets, and when company comes over it’s used for jackets and purses. I’m pretty sure that even my husband doesn’t know about the taped hole. Ha!

    I’m a target lady and I got some to die for Thomas O’Brien lamps last year. They are right up your alley– a watery blue color base with off-white drum shades. I even saw them on Color Splash with David Bromstead!

    I’M A TARGET LADY…..
    AND COMPLETELY OBSESSED WITH YOUR BLOG! This is my first comment on your blog after stalking it for the past 6 months. I live up in Norther Virginia and my brother and sis-in-law live in short pump. I am so inspired. I wish I had started the weekly photo shoot with my little bean, he is 10 weeks.
    I also have my mom using your blog as a reference as she teaches interior design to her high school students.

    If you read this comment… can you give some advice. I want to paint the ugly white builder grade vanity in our master bedroom… any ideas or inspiration? All the homes around here are 10 years or younger so they all look the same and so boring inside. I don’t know if I have the money or skill to demo it and install something new, I was thinking of painting and some cool nobs. I am more of traditional pottery barn style look. Thoughts?
