Fab Freebie: The Wallflowers

For those of you following us on Twitter, you may have caught us talking about our trip to plan this giveaway two weekends ago. We were invited over to LaDifférence to pick out an item to give away (and also to try out for ourselves – score!). For all you non-Richmonders, LaDiff (as we locals know it) is an amazing 45,000 square foot showroom of modern and contemporary home furnishings. Sherry and I like to pop in there every so often to enjoy the eye candy and soak up the inspiration. We highly recommend a visit if you live around here or are every passing through (it almost couldn’t be any closer to I-95, right on Richmond’s historic canal walk).

And after getting over the excitement of being able to pick from four-stories worth of items, we finally settled on the perfect thing to dress up your walls: these wild and whimsical 3D Wallflowers. We knew the white set would be a fun addition to one of our rooms (are you surprised by our choice of color?) but figured the black flowers or even the silver dragonflies might be more fitting for you guys so they’re all up for grabs. Each installs with a simple magnetic push-pin and can add interest to boring hallways, empty corners and even ceilings… but we’ll show you more of that in our follow-up post about putting them up in our house (seriously, they couldn’t be more fun to look at or install).

For now, here are the details on this week’s giveaway (stay tuned for our installation play-by-play):

  • PRIZE: A set of White Wallflowers, Black Wallflowers or Silver Wallflutters (a $37 value)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M A WALLFLOWER” or “I’M A SOCIAL BUTTERFLY” or whatever it is that you are (bookworm? party animal?)
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 17th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three lucky lads/ladies
  • ELIGIBILITY: Prizes can be shipped to the lower 48 United States

    I’m definitely a wallflower; one of my favorite things to do is sit in a cafe and dream up lives for the people I see. It’s a pretty cliche thing for an aspiring writer to do, but it’s worked! Some of my best pieces started that way:0)

    Hi Sherry & John,
    I am a wallflower, but my 7 year old is a social butterfly, I am redecorating her bedroom (on a low budget :-)) to a pink and black theme…very chic! The black flowers (or white) would be perfect for the decor.

    P.S. first time comment, but long time following, you guys have inspired lots of ideas and projects on our own not-so-new- house…THANKS!!

    I’m a dragonfly!

    I love these. I already have a tab open (we’ve covered this little problem of mine, right?) from seeing these on Dooce’s nursery page, and they are so cute. Thinking of using them in my bedroom entrance.

    I have seen these in several places and I LOVE them! They would look great in our rental since we can’t paint the walls…they need SOMETHING to liven them up! I am a little of both…a social butterfly and a wallflower!

    I’m a wallflower! One that loves your blog! Ya’ll have inspired me to purchase four chairs off of Craigslist ($15)and refinish them for our dining room. I’ve sanded one and have three more to go before the fun really begins. : )

    Maybe a mix of social butterfly and wallflower…depends on fatigue factor mostly as life with very small children is quite taxing these days.

    I’m a THRIFY GAL!

    I saw those in a hotel, but they had them inside of a shadow box frame. I’ve since wondered where to find something like them, so neat, now I know!

    That triptych of wallflowers ALMOST makes a heart shape if the black flowers were lined up correctly. Sorry, I’m a loser, baby.
