Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    Clean me!!!!!
Last weekend was cleaning the back of the basement…the area that kind of houses anything we don’t want laying around the house.
Hopefully this weekend I’ll be joining the closet cleaning party. I need to get rid of all of the clothes I keep hanging on to “just incase” I want to wear it. Yea, that “just incase” never comes around so I’m bringing it all to good will.

    Clean Me!

I have big plastic totes for everything. I pack up my off season clothes and shoes….but before I change my season’s wardrobe..I take a honest look at the the item to see ask myself if I am going to wear them. I have an empty bag for donations (and a spreadsheet to document for tax purposes) right next to my bin and closet.

…my teenage sons are helping me with the spring cleaning inside and outside since my husband was sent away for his job rather suddenly for three months!! So far we have trimmed about 50 rose bushes, scrubbed kitchen cabinets, floors, windowsills and baseboards, and wiped down the blades of all ceiling fans!! We’re also going through their outgrown clothes and extra unused stuff around the house so we can help out others in need.

It warmed up enough that we spent this weekend getting the bikes out of the basement and ready to go. The other big spring cleaning project is carpet cleaning, a big chore with three cats, two kids, lots of coffee drinking, and beige carpets.

1st step in cleaning is getting all the pet hair that has accumulated in our tiny 1000 square foot cottage over these cold winter months from our two giant pups. We were looking into buying a Dyson, but this could work . . .

We just moved from a small, 5th floor walk-up in New York to a 4 bedroom foreclosure in Cali that is 90% carpet! Oh and we have a black lab with lots of shedding happening. As for spring cleaning, i’m not sure where to begin. I might start with the nail holes and the katie and sarah BFF written on the closet wall in glitter fabric pens :) Thanks for the contest, cute couple.

So far we’ve tackled our wardrobes, cleaning schedule, the garden, laundry schedule, working out, and next… the basement! While the projects might not be the most glamorous, they sure make life a little simpler!

I go through our kids closets and clean out their clothes that don’t fit anymore (and since they’re still little this actually needs to happen more often than just once a year). I take out the next size clothes and get it ready for the coming spring season.

Oh my gosh…I soooo need this vacuum! I have never been a big carpet fan. I just feel like it is wearing cloths for months without ever washing them-yuck! However, I have a 2 year old who likes to wrestle with his daddy and a 6 month old who’s rolling around everywhere and hard wood floors don’t accommodate either of these actions. Solution? Rugs…we have lots of area rugs and this time of year I like to rent a carpet cleaner and cleanse the nasty out of them. Hope I win!!!!!

I have just finished cleaning out 6 closets in my house. Our daug., with her family of 4, just moved in with us for a few months, so 3 out of 4 bedroom closets were COMPLETLY emptied…now that was a challenge, to say the least!!! I also cleaned out the utility closet, leaving her 2 emptied shelves, and cleaned out the pantry. It’s amazing how much stuff we cling to, that we really don’t need or even want after a period of time. I feel empowered.

As far as spring cleaning, we just moved into our new home (1943 bungalow) – and the previous owner was a bit of a hoarder, we hear. The house was cleared, thankfully, but the garage is a crazy mess – more shovels in there than anyone could use. Now that the weather is turning warm, I have great ambitions for clearing it out and making it so we can open our car doors all the way. Wish us luck… especially with the spider eggs I spotted the other day. Ugh.
