Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    CLEAN ME!

There are so many rituals I have when Spring Cleaning rolls around. My favorite involves dusting every nook and crany of the house, as my favorite cleaning partner, my Labrador Reese, follows me around sucking up any dust that I miss. He’s a great vaccuum, but I am totally in the mood for a new (real) one!

CLEAN MEEEE!!!! Oh help! After your vacuum post I actually wrote down what you bought so I could replace my husbands ancient, bachelor’s life vacuum. I’m drowning in pet hair and boy dirt and have given up spring cleaning in favor of constant efforts to remove piles of fur/dirt from our hardwoods (These efforts fail when our vacuum throws the dirt at my feet instead).

    CLEAN ME!

This is our very first Spring in our apartment and as a married couple! Our vacuum cleaner is, uh, less than stellar and seems to be overwhelmed by the amount of shedding I do (yeah, me). It’s on its last legs and this giveaway couldn’t have come at a better time!

Even though we don’t have pets, maybe that broom would come in handy after all. :)

Vacuuming and scrubbing the bunny cage, plus moving it to clear out the pile of hay, is one much needed task in the Jones house this spring. I could really use that pet broom with our 3 guinea pigs and 2 rabbits!

    CLEAN ME!

Due to our limited closet space it’s time to move our heavy winter items into our Space Bags and remove our light and happy spring/summer clothes from last year’s Space Bags! I love the beautiful weather that seems to be around the corner so it’s sort of a fun way to welcome the warm days (even if it is alot of work to vacuum pack and store our heavy winter clothing). I would use the new vacuum for this chore first and then it would be put to work in our fully carpeted apartment! It would be nice not to inhale the dust that comes out of our $30 Hoover vacuum that doesn’t seem to keep the dust inside very well. :)

This is our first spring in our first house, so spring cleaning has a whole new meaning for us this year! Our biggest task will def be landscaping – since this is our first chance to even get at our yard, we have a lot of work to do.

    CLEAN ME :)

I’ve been working on getting all of our rugs completely cleaned (vacuumed and washed), but some of them need a good scrub (have to borrow the parents’ shampooer!).
Our yard is overflowing with weeds after all the rain we’ve had in the past month, so those need to get yanked, and the rest of the yard needs tended to as well.

Keeping our floors clean is such a chore, mainly because our current vac doesn’t really have a ‘wood’ floor option, meaning I have to crawl around on the floor to get all the floating pet hair from our cat and rabbits. Maybe that broom would be the solution though. :)

CLEAN ME! I’ve been spring cleaning since about Christmas, b/c I am having my first child TOMORROW! Yes, tomorrow. Sort of freaking out. My other child is a golden retriever, so we live to vacuum. Now with a little one on the way, we will be even more neurotic about vacumming. We love Bissels, and I’d love to try this one out! My favorite spring cleaning ritual is working out in the yard! I love the anticipation of waiting for my bulbs to bloom!

I haven’t really started thinking about spring cleaning yet. My husband and I bought our house in Sept so we are starting to think of spring projects like painting. We went to Lowes and Home Depot this past weekend and picked up a bunch of paint swatches for the living room and kitchen. So that’s what I will be doing this spring!

I just started making my spring cleaning list. I’ve started off just with organizing paper work since it’s not quite spring yet, lol! Either one of these fabs giveaways would come in handy :) I hate dust and dust bunnies and now that it’s going to be lighter out longer I will see them with more sun light coming in the house. My closet is next after all the paper work is done, time to get rid of stuff!

I started my spring cleaning in our new place this weekend when the temps snuck above the 50 degree mark. I opened all of the windows and let in the sunshine and fresh air. That, plus washing all of our bedding and starting the transition to lighter weights has already made it feel like spring in our house. Now, if I could just motivate myself to do the windows…

Clean Me! We live in a very damp location, so the first day that it’s sunny and not windy we open all the doors and windows to air out the stale winter air. Even if the temp. is 45 degrees or lower, we just need to get fresh air in the house. Just doing that gets us ready for the not so fun part of spring cleaning.
