Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

our vacuum’s pet hair attatchment stopped working a little while ago, so we are currently in the market for a new one. Our spring cleaning will have to consist of cleaning up all the spots where the tumbleweeds made of doghair have collected.

We bought a house last summer and are about ready financially to start doing some of our renovations. But before I allow myself to start the fun stuff… I will have the cleaning party of the century. Closets, boxes that have yet to be unpacked, all the windows, the…*gulp*…basement, AND creating an ORGANIZED home office. BOY would that vacuum cleaner come in handy for my cleaning party…just sayin’.

When the weather finally starts getting nicer I will be switching out sweaters, other winter clothing and boots in the closet for dresses, shorts and flip flops in storage on the porch. Can’t wait for flip flops, even though I will miss my boots.

One of the greatest giveaways yet! Much needed…

You have NO IDEA how bad we need it with an (almost) crawling baby and 3 fur-babies that make a lot of fur balls!!!

My spring cleaning involves storage!!! Every year I come up with a new way to get the clutter off the floor. Our house was built with VERY FEW closets and just hardly any storage at all, so I have to be very creative. Last year I was pregnant, so my spring cleaning storage involved busting a hole in the wall and making storage in wasted spaces!! I will have to say it turned out AMAZING so I have plans to do it to 2 other rooms in our house!!! Mmmm love spring cleaning!

Did someone mention PET hair? As in PET HAIR BROOM? Sounds ready-made for this house. We have two cats and no matter how often we sweep/vacuum, little hairball tumbleweeds blow by. Yuck. Nasty. They attach to everything…including anything black that’s worn by the humans. Nothing more embarrassing to go to work with the tumbleweeds…
Spring means window cleaning time. Unfortunately, the husband doesn’t do windows. Ah well, warm weather, sunshine–it’s well worth the hassle of buckets of dirty water and vinegar, rags aplenty and the fun of a squeegie!

We’ve had beautiful weather the past couple days here in Indiana, and to start off the spring cleaning, we’ve opened up the windows and aired out our apartment! It’s so refreshing and so nice to take some deep breaths of clean air! I also love to attack the blinds in all the rooms that have collected dust during the winter… YUCK! such a good feeling to get rid of all the pesky dust bunnies!!

I try to stay pretty organized year-round, but I do plan to clean out the shed this spring. After all the snow, I could barely open the shed door – forget putting things away nicely! I just threw the snow shovels back in and ran for the hills. I would like to tackle that space and put in a real garage type organizing system for tools, toys, and everything else.

Clean Me! We live in a constant state of throwing out stuff. Our house is 1,000 sq. ft. so it’s not possible to keep stuff we don’t use. Plus the seasons are changing and it’s time to go through all the kids winter clothes, toss out what doesn’t fit and bring out the spring stuff.
