Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Today was one of the first nice days in WV and I set all of my plants outdoors to soak up the sun while I cleaned windows and swept down spider webs. How do they get there so fast???

    CLEAN ME!!! PLEASE!!

Proud owner of a great dane mix, German shorthair pointer, and two rescue cats. With that said, the dust bunnies collect in a matter of minutes after we have done our cleaning. And if we get too busy and don’t clean for a week, those dust bunnies easily turn in to dust MONSTERS. This if our first Spring Cleaning as a married couple. I’m sure I have more in plan for us than my hubby has even imagined! Organizing closets and just about anything else are my fave!

Huh? I should be starting on the spring cleaning already? I have no routines as far as that goes (sorry, I’m a bit lazy on the spring cleaning end of things). My closet is such a disaster area, and I have few solutions, that I doubt I’m up for that. But I will be cleaning my desk this week so that I might be able to think straight. ;)

I am all ready to do a major cleaning off all those raggy old winter clothes that I know I won’t wear next season, I will donating them all! I also want to just go through the bed room and de-clutter it all! I feel stuffed in here! We have multiple cats here and we need that give away badly! I’m ready for the nice weather to come to get them outside where they enjoy it much more and out of my house!

Living in Chicago we still have a ways to go before spring is officially here. The ground is still covered with snow so it’s hard to get into the window washing mood. Once we can open up those windows to air out the house, it’s time to get down and dirty. I love to start purging first and then organizing and sprucing up my decor. Then I’ll know warmer days are here for good!

We have implemented a daily rule in our house. Every single day, 3 rooms need to be cleaned for at least 5 minutes. After three weeks, I am surprised to see how much improved the house has become! The first week, we were organizing, and now we’re just finishing cleaning and deep cleaning! As a military family, we clean OUT our house often. With our new plan, we can easily keep our house at a maintenance level!!

Spring cleaning has a new place in my heart this year. Our first baby is due on Mother’s Day and I think the nesting instinct has kicked in early for me :) The pet hair broom would be a nice bonus for our wood floors. Sometimes I think we could build a spare dog out of the fluff balls we find…

Spring Cleaning always begins with a giant purge of all the unnecessary items I’ve collected over winter, or rather a purge of all the things I don’t need anymore because they were replaced with a newer model during the winter blue shopping sprees :)
