Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?
We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.
Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.
- PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Believe it or not – I clean my roof every spring – Any tips??? My house faces north which results in a damp roof that grows moss and lichen on the asphalt shingles. So I’ll be climbing on to the roof with my powerwasher and gently powerwashing away everything but the shingles. My neighbors think I’m nuts! Can’t help it – I’m a Virgo.

We are in the process of organizing everything. We like a modern home with lots of clean lines so twice a year we go through stuff that has trickled in to the home from our daily lives. And I use it as an opportunity to rearrange furniture for a fresh feel.

Biscuit (yellow lab) and Kitty (long haired calico cat) would LOVE it if we won this Bissell vacuum. Currently, I have to borrow my mom’s vacuum every time I need to clean the floor (she lives a mile away)! I’d love to put an end to the “vacuum commuting” I’m currently doing.
Spring Cleaning to do list:
– Pack up the winter clothes and unpack the summer ones!
– Prep the garden (we might attempt watermelons this year)
– Clean under the bed (groan – least favorite thing to do)
– Organize filing cabinet (already done! took advantage of one of those cold snow days this winter to knock this task off the list)
– Extra attention to base boards, window sills and hard to reach nooks that get ignored all year.
BONUS: I’m getting married in June! This would be a great gift to start off our new house full of love! =)

Hate to say this, but since we just moved into our new house at the end of October, we have little in the area of spring cleaning. We can enjoy this spring and clean out closets and drawers next year!

We just got done with our annual closet cleaning. If I haven’t worn it 18 months (minus specialty gear like ski apparel) it probably needs to go to Goodwill or Salvation Army where someone can use it.

I desperately need to organize the coat closet – pack away the mittens, gloves, boots, snow pants and ice skates that have taken over every available inch and make some room for the spring coats. I’m afraid to start it yet because as soon as I do, we’ll get another blizzard!

Every spring I start with the dust bunnies – we live in a big old Victorian, and the dust bunny mating that happens during the winter is unreal.

Our ‘spring cleaning’ isnt actually cleaning – we’re working on replacing all of our 1970’s dark trim and doors with new, crisp white stuff – it makes the whole house look fresh and new! :)

Im tackling my closets, they are seriously horrifying. Plus my evil bunny plays in them so there are literally dust bunnies from a real bunny in there that a shiny new vacuum would help with…. :)

I don’t often post for give-aways but I really want this vacuum so why not?
My husband has already built me some awesome garden boxes and the garden is planted and hopefully ready to grow. Once we finish painting the house, we are going to try to tackle a deck and the garage. Great plans!!

The main thing that we don’t clean regularly is our furniture. This past weekend we washed all of the cushion covers and used our Bissell Spot Bot upholstery attachment to clean the rest of the furniture. Otherwise we clean everything out pretty well regularly!

Spring cleaning at my house has already begun. Closets are being cleaned out, windows, doors, etc are cleaned weekly. Goodwill is probably tired of seeing me at this point! It feels so good to be clean and decluttered though! Thanks for the fabulous giveaway!! :)
