Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    CLEAN ME!!!
I am about to start my yearly tradition of moving out of what started out as my dorm, and now has turned to moving out of apartments. Seems I always am finding one that I like more and my roommates and I are switching each year! I cant wait until I graduate and don’t have to worry about cleaning the entire apartment for the new tenants.

Oh and ps. we each have a dog which = LOTS OF PET HAIR!!! yikes

We’re doing everything! It’s hard when we both work full time because we have to tackle it all after work and on the weekends. A little bit at a time. This prize would be amazing because we’re still working with a 9 year old canister vacuum.

With the recent warmer temps, I’ve abandoned housework and spent my free time out in the yard preparing for spring – weeding, cleaning leaves and tending to my baby bulb sprouts that are starting to peak through. I know I need to work on that mountain of laundry inside but I just can’t keep myself indoors when it’s so nice out.

I like to do Spring cleaning the first weekend the weather warms up–meaning that sometimes I do it in February, after which it goes back to snowing. But somehow I feel like doing Spring cleaning will make it FEEL more like Spring, even if the weather doesn’t cooperate.

    CLEAN ME!! :)

Since you want to know about my Spring Cleaning rituals, I should probably preface this by stating that it is pretty much _always_ “Spring Cleaning” time at my place! Yep, I am a total clean freak!

About one a season I like to take a rag to all the baseboards, fans, doors, etc. and give them a good wipe-down — and it is just about that time again here in Georgia! Along more organizational lines, I also sort through all my spring / summer and fall / winter clothes as I get ready to make the big switcheroo in my closet. Everything that I haven’t worn in a year (or forgot I actually owned) gets donated to Goodwill. :)

I just recently switched over to Mrs. Meyers cleaning products per your suggestion and I LOVE them! My fave is the basil scented scouring powder. Smells SO much better than comet and cleans just as well! Thanks for your tips!

Twice a year I participate in at least two kids seasonal consignment sales . It is a great way to get a head start going through the kids things, seeing what clothes they can’t wear anymore, getting rid of toys they have outgrown or don’t play with anymore and getting new things for them a great prices! This helps me get the kid’s rooms back in shape and gets me motivated to go through the rest of the house room by room at the beginning of each Spring and Fall. We have gone through many a vac with three kids and two dogs. This ones sounds A-MAZ-ING!

Spring cleaning for me is usually finding a new apartment. When my leases expire I always tend to find something I like better rather then staying put. I think this probably started in college and had just carried over. This also means that i have to do a very thorough cleaning so I can get back that whole security deposit!

A cleaning ritual for my husband and I is tidying up our yard. Although small, we rake, weed and plant grass seed. We are going to wash the outside of our tiny shed so it looks white again, bring out our outdoor patio furniture, fill up bird feeders and wash the bird bath. And my favorite part..buy fresh, colorful flowers for our pots! I’m hoping to get some of my favorites…big blue hydrangeas and plant them in the yard to enjoy all summer long!
