Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    Clean me!

I start my spring cleaning with changing out my darker winter draperies with light and airier ones.

    Clean Me!

We started our spring cleaning by craigslisting any furniture around the house we deemed “filler”- didn’t use it and/or didn’t like it. Once that was done, spent the money buying shelves to organize our garage and getting a new sofa!

    CLEAN ME!

We desperately need a vacuum cleaner, as we had to leave our old one behind when we moved across the country–it wouldn’t fit in the moving trailer!

As far as spring cleaning goes, cleaning out the closets are probably the biggest thing we’ll tackle. We have so many boxes of clothes and so much stuff we don’t use anymore. I’d also like to give the bathroom floors a really good scrub, especially under the claw-foot tub… how do you do that exactly? :)

    Clean Me!

I help people throw stuff out (and more) for a living, but it always flors me how good it feels to throw my own crap out! I think I’m finally crap free after taking 4 huge bags to the thrift store last week. I’m also excited about painting my kitchen a very light taupe.
If I can get a sympathy vote here, my vaccumm broke months ago so I’ve been vaccumming my large bedroom on my hands and knees with my dirt devil!

    Clean me!

Spring cleaning is all about the purge … old clothes to goodwill, tearing everything off the kitchen shelves to wipe them off and make sure there aren’t any ancient cans of god-knows-what hiding back there, cleaning out the bookshelves. The purge just lightens up the whole house.

I go through all 4 of my kids’ clothes and sort out the outgrown clothes. I save the ones the big ones have outgrown that aren’t too shabby and donate the ones that the little ones have outgrown that still have wear left in them. It never ceases to amaze me how much STUFF we have!!

    Clean Me!

Moved in to our house a few months ago; so we don’t need to do a ton. First on the list is to clean out the garage, which houses the things we didn’t know what to do with at first.

    CLEAN ME!

Spring Cleaning won’t actually start until May 16 (as I graduate from college May 15) BUT it will definitely include simplifying and decluttering as I want to live by this quote: “Do not keep anything in your house that you don’t find to be useful or beautiful.”

Ah, it is starting to feel like early spring around our house! We are going through the closets and getting bags and boxes ready for donation. We just repainted the sun deck, put out some furniture – and updated some of the rugs inside and out – our pets would LOVE some new cleaning machines!
