Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

PILOT ME!
Pen and paper all the way! I usually use freebie pens and notepads gathered from wherever, but find myself preferring particular ones. I’m sure Pilot pens and Levenger notebooks would take my discriminating taste to new levels!

I do a combo. iPhone, gcalendar, chalkboard and notes. Oh any my head of course! Though my memory is worse now that I have kid + one one the way. Can we say prego brain??

PILOT ME! Please :)
I am split, half paper & pen, half digital with my handy iPhone…

PILOT ME!
I take notes on Post-its with a couple different pens I like to keep handy. But, if I come across a ballpoint I like at home I’ll stick it in a drawer so I know where to find it again. I also prefer blue ink over black.

PILOT ME! My combination of choice: Zebra F-501 click pens with a Moleskine Weekly Notebook. I also have a Moleskine notebook of the same size with grid paper for random notes, on-going projects, meeting minutes, etc. Even with an iPhone, I have resisted switching to other forms of note-taking… there is nothing more satisfying than crossing off an item.

I love using a regular old pencil- the traditional kind, not mechanical. If a pencil isn’t around, ball point pens come next.
Katie Dyson says
PILOT ME!
I use pens and legal pads to write all of my notes – I’m in grad school so its still a lot of note-taking.

Currently, I’m obsessed with leaving notes on the new framed chalkboard we hung in our kitchen.
Jessica W says
PILOT ME! Will only write with Pilot Rollerball Pens. Love them. And, thank goodness for post-it notes. The best combo ever.
Amber says
Pilot me!
I love using a pen to make a to do list.
Linnea says
PILOT ME! I am a pencil faithful (I am a slave to the eraser), except when it comes to writing notes or cards — they look so much classier when written in pen. And when I do write in pen, it’s gotta be a smooth-writing one! Pilot FTW!
Ashley says
PILOT ME!
I love a gel pen and a stack of post its!
Rachel says
PILOT ME!
I’m both a pen-and-paper and a tech gal. I like to capture my ideas on paper, but use a couple of digital apps to actually keep me on track.
I always have a pen stashed in my purse(s), and can’t stand to be without one. My very favourite pen, which I got as a gift at work about 5 years ago, got lost last summer at a music festival. I need a fancy replacement!
Casey says
PILOT ME! I tend to do a combination of using my phone and jotting things down on scrap paper or in a notebook.
Melissa says
PILOT ME!
I’ve been out of grad school for 4 years now but still use the same trusted note taking method – mechanical pencil and a little black book that I carry in my handbag ready for great ideas or jotting down “to do” lists.
Ruth says
PILOT ME!
I used to be a “list on paper” or “multitude of post-its” person. Last year I upgraded to a smart phone and I’ve been slowly exploring its list functionalities since then. I doubt I’ll ever move completely away from the hand-written list, though.
Kim Y says
PILOT ME! I love my little day planner and pen that I keep in my purse. So old-school but I can’t give it up!

I keep a notebook and pen in my purse at all times to write down stuff before I forget it!

I use nothing but Pilot G-2s! They’re the only pen that I’ve found that consistently writes well with an ultra fine tip. I always have at least 3 on me, along with a mini moleskine for jotting things down.

I love the Ultra-Sharp Sharpie Pens to grade papers at school. LOVE THEM!
Stacy says
Pilot me! I scribble everything onto a magnet notepad on the fridge. I make lists for everything, I love lists!
Michelle hofmann says
PILOT ME!
I resort to the Sharpies usually, but since my 9 and 7 year old girls get their paws on everything of mine….I will take what I can get!!! They seem to find my hidden pen stash no matter where it hides!!!
Jeni T says
PILOT ME! I always make a to do list in the morning with pen and paper. I use a dry erase board on my fridge for meal planning. Tried to go digital but its just not the same.
Amber P. says
PILOT ME- Post-its and pens all over.
Erin Harris says
PILOT ME!!
I keep a calendar in my purse with everything I need there. Pen included as well :)
Kati says
PILOT ME! I love pens, pencils, notes, doodles. I keep trying to go all digital (how many note-taking/organizational apps have I downloaded, started, and never continued?) but can’t get away from the satisfaction of writing a list, writing an appointment, etc. Mostly I love mechanical pencils and different notebooks.
And oh how I love the Levenger products!

Katie says
PILOT ME! Lately we’ve been keeping shared grocery lists on smartphones and I’m taking more notes at work on the computer so I don’t have to spend extra time re-typing after a meeting. But I still love making lists with great pens and cute notepads!
Vicki says
PILOT ME!!
I always carry a pen and notepad with me. And I’m very particular about the pen I use.
Amii H says
PILOT ME!
I am one that doesn’t remember ANYTHING short-term unless i write it down… and i really prefer my mechanical pencils… i write notes while working outdoors, i jot down ideas in line…everywhere. i’ve even been known to pull over becuase a random thought hit me and i knew i had to get it written down before i lost it. luckily, i corral most of my little notes inside a small notebook that is closed with rubberbands
Lauren K. says
PILOT ME!
I love a nice calligraphy pen and paper so my notes seem more important, or just a Pilot razorpoint – it might be weird to have memories attached to a pen brand, but my dad always used them, so they’re super nostalgic for me!
Claire says
PILOT ME!
I have a terrible habit of making a ton of lists of scraps of paper on my desk at work. Not only do I forget to bring them home with me but they also make my desk look like a pig sty!
Laurel says
PILOT ME!
I’m old school and prefer to keep all of my daily schedules, lists, and reminders in a small spiral-bound notebook, then use google calendar synced to my phone for weekly/monthly/yearly events. You can bet that my life just about stops when I lose that puppy. Ironically enough, the pen that resides along the spine is always a pilot!

Plein Jane says
PILOT ME! Is it wrong to stand in the pen aisle at Target for 30 minutes?
Jennifer B says
PILOT ME!
I always have at least one pen in my purse, one in the car and one on the fridge for notes. I also use my IPhone, but I still like to write things down.
Jane Nelson says
PILOT ME! I’m a pen person. I take notes from phone meetings in blue pen, and notes from in-person meetings with black pen. Is that weird? Probably.
Jenn M says
PILOT ME!
While I love everything digital, there’s nothing like the sense of accomplishment of actually crossing something off a list (with a pen, marker, pencil… anything!)
Michelle says
PILOT ME!
Sticky notes and ballpoint pens are my most used work supplies!
Cara says
“PILOT ME!”
Love my pen and paper…I admit it, I’m a list girl.
