Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

PILOT ME! I love writing notes in my little jotter from Smock. I keep it in my purse when I am out and about. The pretty colors make me so happy every time I use it!

PILOT ME!
I am obsessed with fun pens- especially thin, pointy markers. I am a kindergarten teacher and love writing my lesson plans with fun pens :)
Pepsi Alice says
PILOT ME! My writing tools of choice are mechanical pencils and Pentel RSVP pens. I always use purple RSVP pens at work because my signature is so messy that I figure the purple gives people a head start in recognizing that it’s me.
Jo says
Pilot me! I always have at least one pen and my favorite mechanical pencil because there’s nothing worse than a pen that won’t write when you need it (and sometimes people forget to return pens they’ve borrowed!). I also keep a little notebook in my purse.
Thanks!

PILOT ME! WITH $500 WORTH OF PENS I COULD QUIT MY DAY JOB AND BECOME A WRITER!
Sam Rodier says
PILOT ME! Blue ink, so they know its an original signature. Key detail on a legal document. I prefer closely-lined legal pads. I sit at a desk all freakin’ day. We still use WordPerfect at the office (and a fax machine that actually has a phone attached to it)). I’d kill for a standing workstation but that is very nouveau and my firm is very old school (“Green carpets, the color of money” says my boss). At least I’ve had an enduring love for office products since my grade school days. Guess what I do for a living!!
lisa says

My planner is full of random notes and tons of post-its!

Pilot Me! It seems we have pens on available desk/ writing surface no particular brand just whatever we are liking right then. And I waste a lot of post-it notes for notes that don’t need to be stuck anywhere.
KJ says
PILOT ME! I TAKE LONG COPIOUS NOTES AS AN ATTORNEY AND BUY MY OWN PENS BECAUSE I LOVE GOOD PENS!
Erin R. says
PILOT ME! I am a pencil and notebook kind of girl. I don’t own a smart phone and still keep a paper calendar. I keep a small notebook in my purse to jot down notes on the go.
Mudra says
PILOT ME!
I prefer to take notes on a notepad, especially for longer things like lists, but I don’t always have paper on hand so a lot of the time I use my iPhone (which I prefer for quick things like writing down the name of a movie I want to check out so that I don’t forget).
Alicia says
PILOT ME!

PILOT ME!
I have a Levenger notebook and I LOVE it – writing things down and crossing them off is my favorite thing. I also now have an iPad Mini and I’m taking a lot of notes using that as well.
(I was the type of kid who would go to a university bookstore and try all of the pens, so can you imagine how excited I am for this giveaway??)

PIOLOT ME! I am a gel pen snob!

Pilot Me!
I usually grab whatever is closest, but it also depends on what it is I am working on. If it is creative, I like a good mechanical pencil. Most other notes I like using a post it and a nice colorful pilot pen. But if all else fails or I need to make sure the note travels with me, I might just put it my phone.
Lara Rassette says
PILOT ME! I love making lists with a great pen!
Stephanie says
PILOT ME!
I write my to-do lists on paper (it’s so satisfying to cross something off!) but I keep track of appointments and meetings on my Google calendar.
Bobbi says
Pilot Me!
Lists are made with a pen because I have to follow it, and can’t erase anything. Appointments are made with a pencil, in case they need to be rescheduled. (not by me!)
Sara Winterfeld says
Pilot me! Preferably with blue ink pens. They’re my favorite. Also love sharpies. And the kids like mechanical pencils..
Robyn says
